Weimaraner

The Weimaraner, or silver ghost as called by some, was bred as a hunting dog and many sportsmen still use them for hunting large game such as deer and bear. The Weimaraner breed comes from Germany. Though they were bred for hunting, they also make great family pets if you have the time and the energy to dedicate to them.

There are two types of Weimaraners, based on the coat color and length; shades of silver, roe deer or mouse gray, sometimes blue. The short-haired Weimaraner is more common than the long-haired variant.

So you want a Weimaraner? I can’t blame you. Weims are such beautiful, elegant looking dogs that stand out wherever they go.

The Weimaraner breed of dogs has a difficult, but generally good character and is very loyal to its owner and family. However, there is also a downside to the coin. If the dog is left to itself, not to engage in its upbringing and socialization, the instincts that it carries in itself from nature will prevail. It's unavoidable.
