Pink mermaid for the annual "Mermay" trend in May that seems to be a thing in social media. I treated this piece as a shading and custom brush practice, so I kept the character design fairly simple so that I wouldn't spend too much time on complicated details or challenging angles. That had an unexpected outcome, because this watery scene has a nice feel of lightness, which is unusual for my standard shading style!
