When I first started doing freehand machine embroidery on water-soluble fabric I made a lot of mistakes. In this post I chat about one mistake in particular. The mistake relates to drawing on water soluble fabric, a troublesome issue for many. So if you are interested in learning what I used early on (with disastrous result) and what I use now (that I know better). check it out. www.meredithwoolnough.com.au/blog Water Soluble Fabric Ideas, How To Use Water Soluble Stabilizer, Water Soluble Stabilizer Embroidery, Free Motion Sewing Art, Dissolvable Fabric Embroidery, Thread Art On Cloth, Water Soluble Fabric Embroidery, Free Motion Embroidery Ideas, Solvy Fabric

Meredith Dale trading as Meredith Woolnough on Instagram: "Is like magic every time 🪄✨

Washing the water soluble stabiliser out of my embroideries is still my favourite part of the process. It’s the moment they come alive. ❤️

This red coral fan is my newest embroidered creation. It has been stitched with a freehand machine embroidery technique on a water soluble substrate. It’s a wonderfully simple but versatile way to make things.

Once this piece is dried it will then be shadow mounted onto a board ready for framing.

If you would ever like to learn how to do this kind of embroidery I have a book available and also teach online courses. Links to both can be found in my bio.

440K views · 17K reactions | Join me in my studio on Friday 15th March where I’ll guide you into the world of freehand machine embroidery. This amazing technique will open the door to so much more creativity on your sewing machine PLUS use up those tiny scraps of fabric you can’t bear to throw away (I have quite a few!).

Not only will you create your own unique collection of floral notecards you’ll leave feeling confident to continue this technique at home and perhaps never need to by a greetings card ever again!

These workshops are always so much fun, you’ll be surrounded by likeminded creatives in a relaxed environment, where we can sew and natter and inevitably there’ll be something (or someone) we’ll have in common.

Places are limited to six and there are now only two places remai Freehand Machine Embroidery Ideas, Machine Embroidery Basics, Freehand Machine Embroidery, Scraps Of Fabric, Textile Art Embroidery, Sewing Machine Basics, Feeling Confident, Open The Door, Art Textile

Sarah Becvar on Instagram: "Even after all the years I’ve been sewing I still find it frustrating when the bobbin thread runs out and when I’m sewing an order of 100 cards it runs out pretty often 🤪.

Anyone else relate?

In case you missed my previous posts I’ve added three new freehand machine embroidery workshop dates to my website. Comment with a 🧵below and I’ll DM a direct link to you. These are based in my garden studio in East Sussex.

We can share our bobbin frustration together 😂.
