Space Design Principles - illustrarch

For the Principles of Design I did balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, and rhythm. The hardest I thought was rhythm because you had to combine movement and pattern together.

Rhythm - The pattern has been repeated across the design to create a rhythm.

In this image rhythm is alternating. The squares or cubes create an alternating rhythm in shapes and with the colors in the image which creates a pattern as well.

Visual rhythm: the picture represents visual rhythm because of the movement of the eye.

Rhythm - The design has a flowing rhythm that follows the line pattern.

The fish shapes flow together in the same direction so that they share the common fate of turning into the bigger fish seen at the top right of the picture.

Emphasis is shown here by centering the focus of the piece. It also makes the umbrella pop by using bright colors compared to the others shown. This is also the only umbrella where the viewer can see part of the persons face.
