Pink Elephant

Pink elephant in the snow, what do you know, what do you know
I've been walking in the cold for far too long, for so so long
I've been searching every day for somebody just like you and here you are
Pink elephant in the snow, what do you know, what do you know
I've been looking for some meaning, a brand new feeling, a better feeling
On the edge of transcendence, with a song in my heart or in my head
Pink elephant in the snow, what do you know, what do you know
Pink elephant in the snow, what do you know, what do you know
Pink elephant in the snow, what do you know, what do you know

You may not know my name If you have even heard about me
You may not know my name If you have even heard about me
I have been bitter and unforgiving But that's all gonna change
I have been bitter and unforgiving But that's all gonna change
Gonna take a nice hot salt bath With all my friends
Yeah, we're gonna help each other In ways you can't comprehend
You may not know my name If you have even heard about me
You may not know my name If you have even heard about me
Dum de dum dah
Dum de dum dah
Dum de dum dah
Dum de dum dah

I Went Down to the Lake
03:43
|
|
||
I went down to the lake to clear my head. I watched the clouds roll by
I went down to the lake, there was a thought I had, but it went away
I watched the clouds go by until they went away
The autumn air wrapped around me, like a hug and a warning
It's gonna get real dark, but you can survive
I went down to the lake, and I made sure no one was there
I went down to the lake, and I wished that someone was there
I wanted to be alone, but not be lonely
I went down to the lake, looking for answers
I went down to the lake, expecting nothing
The autumn air wrapped around me, like a hug and a warning
It's gonna get real dark, but you can survive
Well, I never never thought that I'd get this far
Now the days go by without me knowing
Well, I never never thought that I'd stick around for anybody
But here I am
Well, I never never thought that I'd get this far
Now the days go by without me knowing
Well, I never never thought that I'd stick around for anybody
But here I am

Gas Station In The Rain
03:01
|
|
||
It always starts the same, a gas station on a rainy day
The clerk smiles, but avoids eye contact
I start to wonder about everybody's pain
And then the sun comes out
I wish the clerk a nice day
She smiles and looks away
I hope she's doing okay
It always ends the same, a story left unexplained
Strangers cross our path, a hint of hurt, or you share a laugh
There's no way to know everybody
There's no way to understand
Ambient feelings fill the air
You've just gotta respect despair
There's no way to say that you care
About a stranger you'll never see again
Insignificance is relative
And then the sun comes out, a rainbow sighs in the distance
The clouds turn to mist and everyone you've met just disappears
And it always ends the same, you forget their face and their name
Folks fade into the background, and that's the way it stays

How good could you feel
How good could you ever feel

Potato Brain
03:08
|
|
||
Potato brain, old Potato brain
Had a thought and let it rot
And then you ate some ice cream
Potato brain, old potato brain
Had a thought and let it rot
And all your fries were spicy
Potato brain, old Potato brain
Had a thought and let it rot
And then you ate some ice cream
Potato brain, old potato brain
Had a thought and let it rot
And all your fries were spicy

You're a Liar!
02:06
|
|
||
A gentle tap on your shoulder but it's made of fire
The fingernails running down your back are made of fire
Everybody's looking for you now but you're on fire
You disappeared from the scene and it made you a liar
You saw a ghost that came real close and was made of fire
Your eyelids twitch and your memories are made of fire
You had a friend and then another friend and they're all liars
You lost their names, you lost your face, and now your tears are liars
You had a good feeling but now that's all on fire
A truck hit your car but somehow you're still alive now

Clumsy Monotone
02:42
|
|
||
Every song I've ever written
I first heard in a woman's voice
But when I open up my mouth
This clumsy monotone falls out
I thought that I could share my feelings
I thought that I could share my fears
I thought that I could share my feelings
But I just wish that I could disappear
My body's not what I expected
That it would ever be
Disintegrating and dysphoric
Dreaming of pastoral poetry
But my feelings are so swirly
And all encompassing
That I wish that I was pretty
And my mouth could represent me
Every song I've ever written
I first heard in a woman's voice
But when I open up my mouth
This clumsy monotone falls out
I thought that I could share my feelings
I thought that I could share my fears
I thought that I could share my feelings
But I just wish that I could disappear
