I dont think anyone was expecting Mitochondrion to suddenly return after 13 years with this titan of an album. The first single shows that they've only been further honing their dark craft all this time, and have brought forth many more grim revelations. Few death metal bands can channel the other side like these guys
I've heard Whoredom Rife before and definitely liked them, but haven't felt compelled to purchase one of their albums until the third track here, Hevnens Rett, that I subsequently replayed several times after buying the album. You can tell these guys have been around a while by how refined, dignified, and expressive their dark compositions are. Very good stuff that makes me glad I'm into black metal.
