Pictorial journal of travels to New York...Have taken a bite out of the Big Apple a few times and nibbled on a few other places too! 1st trip was part of grand adventure to find "real snow" when kids were little. Trip included NYC. Next trip was with Kristina's high school group. 3rd time was to fulfill granddaughter's wish to see the Statue of Liberty!! Last time was to experience holidays on an Aliant Bank trip. Friend, Sue, went with me. Hope to see more of the state one of these days!

Didn't have a lot of time to spend in NYC--passing thru on search for snow which we eventually found in Maine!! After Christmas and I was on vacation from nursing school and we wanted our southern kids to experience some "real snow". Just riding thru the city was overwhelming that first time. Remember getting home and trying to realize all that crazy hustle-bustle was still going on there!! So removed from quiet little Springville, Alabama we were used to!!!

Didn't have a lot of money or time to spend in NYC. Price of a round trip ride for the 4 of us on the Staten Island Ferry was a great choice Lot of experience for our money "lotta bang for the buck"--boat ride, great view of the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island and NYC skyline at dusk! We also royally entertained by a local singing and playing guitar on our trip to the island. Also got a taste of the docks.

We had bought tickets in advance and were certainly glad we did. We saw some very distraught tourists who had not and were unable to visit the statue. They had no idea they would need to get tickets in advance. Visit was in post 9/11 era and security was VERY tight--even more so than airport. (I guess terrorists would get great pleasure attacking this iconic lady--such a symbol of America)

Sue, Judy, me & a goup of other local ladies on trip to NYC one November- (sponsored by Aliant Bank). There for the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefellar Center and got to see the city decked out for the holidays. Macy's hosted a buffet breakfast and fashion show for our group. Shopped the Christmas markets in Bryant Park and Grand Central Station. Watched a play, "Nice Work if You Can Get It", on Broadway. Stayed in a hotel right on Time's Square. Bus tour of city-and ground Zero.

Right in the heart of Times Square was a great location!!!
