In 2023, malicious actors exploited more zero-day vulnerabilities to compromise enterprise networks than the previous year. This advisory highlights technical findings and recommended mitigation strategies to improve security posture based on threat actors' activity. As a minimum, we encourage organisations to: ➡️ Prioritise secure by default configurations ➡️ Apply timely patches to systems ➡️ Implement a centralised patch management system #PatchManagement #ZeroDay #ASD #SecureYourFuture Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Security Agency, National Cyber Security Centre

Yesterday the Infotrust teams got together to join in on the Melbourne Cup festivities and to spice things up we held our very own "Fashions on the Field" competition. From suave suits to dazzling dresses, our team really brought their A-game, embracing the fun, excitement, and the kind of buzz that only the race that stops the nation can bring. A big shout out to Sumit Singh for winning Best Dressed. And finally, thank you to our People and Culture Manager Ffrances Lawes for organising an amazing day. #MelbourneCup #FashionsOnTheField #SecureYourFuture

Last week, the Melbourne Infotrust team held an exclusive workshop alongside partner Varonis. Our security experts highlighted the multitude of benefits AI tools like Microsoft Copilot can offer. However, they also addressed the critical and unique security challenges it presents, all whilst savouring some of the finest whiskies at Nick & Nora's 🥃. Thank you to our industry peers who attended and contributed to the lively discussions – it’s always a pleasure to connect, exchange ideas, and grow together. Here’s to more events filled with good insights, great company, and even better drinks! 🥂 #AI #Copilot #DataSecurity #DLP #SecureYourFuture Jack Eid Gemika Mitchell Jeremy Burtenshaw Manish Roda Sean Bolton

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner recently released its top 5 privacy takeaways for organisations using commercially available AI tools. For businesses planning to integrate or are already leveraging AI, here are key considerations from a security perspective: ➡️Data Minimisation: Collect and use only the necessary data to mitigate exposure risks. ➡️Transparency: Inform users about how AI uses their data. This will enhance trust and reduce privacy concerns. ➡️Accountability: Ensure oversight processes are in place for AI decision-making, holding your systems and employees accountable. ➡️Data Security: Safeguard personal data with robust encryption and access controls to reduce data breaches. ➡️User Rights: Respect your user's privacy rights. Always offer options to opt out or correct data. For security teams, this highlights the need for alignment between privacy frameworks and AI security measures. Proactively managing data protection can mitigate legal risks and foster trust in AI systems.
