Principles of Design

You think you know something, but then you realize you might not know it as well as you first thought! I was working on a bulletin board and wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving any of the Principles of Design out. When I googled it...the ones listed weren't exactly what I was thinking. So what are the real Principles of Design? What do you use in your classroom? HERE ARE THE WORDS I'VE FOUND FOR PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN Unity, Rhythem, Pattern, Movement, Balance, Contrast, Emphasis, Harmony…

For the Principles of Design I did balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, and rhythm. The hardest I thought was rhythm because you had to combine movement and pattern together.

Emphasis, balance and alignment, contrast, repetition, proportion, movement, and white space are the cornerstones of the principle of design.

A GREAT way to challenge your artists to creativly solve how to combine the Elements and Principles of art and design! :)

Appreciating architecture is closely related to the knowledge of principles of design. Complicated as they sound, under the guidance of dedicated lessons children quickly recognise the aesthetic values of architecture. Building upon the lessons, children can benefit from the knowledge to get to know art at a later stage.
