The Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, opened in 1955, was the first high-rise hotel built on the strip. It is the last of the Vegas hotels of its era in its original form—and on May 4 it will be closed and eventually leveled to build more convention space. Photojournalist David Butow shot this series of pictures at the hotel on the week of April 19.
