A Decrumpling Model of the Universe
Abstract: Assuming a cellular structure for the space-time, we propose a model in which the expansion of the universe is understood as a decrumpling process, much like the one we know from polymeric surfaces. The dimension of space is then a dynamical real variable. The generalized Friedmann equation, derived from a Lagrangian, and the generalized equation of continuity for the matter content of the unive… ▽ More

Remarks on a Decrumpling Model of the Universe
Abstract: It is argued that when the dimension of space is a constant integer the full set of Einstein's field equations has more information than the spatial components of Einstein's equation plus the energy conservation law. Applying the former approach to the decrumpling FRW cosmology recently proposed, it is shown that the spacetime singularity cannot be avoided and that turning points are absent. Thi… ▽ More

Expansion of Bubbles in Inflationary Universe
Abstract: We show that particle production during the expansion of bubbles of true vacuum in the sea of false vacuum is possible and calculate the resulting rate. As a result the nucleated bubbles cannot expand due to the transfer of false vacuum energy to the created particles inside the bubbles. Therefore all the inflationary models dealing with the nucleation and expansion of the bubbles (including ext… ▽ More

Dynamics of Dimensions in Factor Space Cosmology
Abstract: We consider multidimensional cosmological models with a generalized space-time manifold M = R x M_1 ...x M_n, composed from a finite number of factor spaces M_i, i=1,..n. While usually each factor space M_i is considered to be some Riemannian space of integer dimension d_i, here it is, more generally, a fractal space, the dimension of which is a smooth function d_i(t) of time. Hence, besides the… ▽ More

A model universe with variable dimension: Expansion as decrumpling
Abstract: We propose a model universe, in which the dimension of the space is a continuous variable, which can take any real positive number. The dynamics leads to a model in which the universe has no singularity. The difference between our model and the standard Friedman-Robertson-Walker models become effective for times much before the presently accepted age of the universe.

Baryogenesis from Long Cosmic Strings
Abstract: Based on the mechanism of cusp production on long cosmic strings, the baryon asymmetry caused by cusp annihilation has been calculated. The result is compatible with observation and stronger than the results from loops.

Cusp Annihilation on Ordinary Cosmic Strings
Abstract: The order of magnitude of energy emission from cusps to light bosons on ordinary cosmic strings is calculated perturbatively. The analysis is applicable to both closed string loops and long cosmic strings. The perturbative result obtained here is much less than what is found by non-perturbative approximations.

Gamma Rays from Small Scale Structures on Long Cosmic Strings
Abstract: The formation of cusps on long cosmic strings is discussed and the probability of cusp formation is estimated. The energy distribution of the gamma-ray background due to cusp annihilation on long strings is calculated and compared to observations. Under optimistic assumptions about the cusp formation rate, we find that strings with a mass per unit length $μ$ less than ${Gμ} = 10^{-14}$ will have… ▽ More

Tunneling in Anisotropic Cosmological Models
Abstract: Tunneling rate is investigated in homogenous and anisotropic cosmologies. The calculations is done by two methods: Euclidean and Hamiltonian approaches. It is found that the probability decreases exponentialy as anisotropy is increased.
