Abstract:
We find novel polar orders that yield electron (e-) and hole (h+) gas and depend on surface terminations, using density functional theory (DFT) that, unlike existing reports, relaxed all the ion positions of ATiO3 having spontaneous polarization Ps (A: alkali earth metal). By the experiments of atomic-oxygen cleaned surfaces of BaTiO3, we find both e- and h+ gas that are proven to originate from P…

We find novel polar orders that yield electron (e-) and hole (h+) gas and depend on surface terminations, using density functional theory (DFT) that, unlike existing reports, relaxed all the ion positions of ATiO3 having spontaneous polarization Ps (A: alkali earth metal). By the experiments of atomic-oxygen cleaned surfaces of BaTiO3, we find both e- and h+ gas that are proven to originate from Ps and constrain electrostatic potential, which has been missing. These experiments that remarkably agree with the DFTs of defect free BaTiO3 reveal the properties of Ps-originated e-h+ and, for ferroelectric basics, an e-h+-posed intrinsic constraint on depolarization field arising from Ps in proper time ranges.

Notion of square-root topological insulators have been recently generalized to higher-order topological insulators. In two-dimensional square-root higher-order topological insulators, emergence of in-gap corner states are inherited from the squared Hamiltonian which hosts higher-order topology. In this paper, we propose that the martini lattice model serves as a concrete example of higher-order topological insulators. Furthermore, we also propose a suquare-root higher-order topological insulator based on the martini model. Specifically, we propose that the honeycomb lattice model with two-site decoration, whose squared Hamiltonian consists of two martini lattice models, realizes square-root higher-order topological insulators. We show, for both of these two models, that in-gap corner states appear at finite energies and that they are portected by non-trivial bulk $\mathbb{Z}_3$ topological invariant.

On-the-fly algorithm for Dynamic Mode Decomposition using Incremental Singular Value Decomposition and Total Least Squares
Authors:

Abstract:
Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) is a useful tool to effectively extract the dominant dynamic flow structure from a unsteady flow field. However, DMD requires massive computational resources with respect to memory consumption and the usage of storage. In this paper, an alternative incremental algorithm of Total DMD (Incremental TDMD) is proposed which is based on Incremental Singular Value Decompo…

Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) is a useful tool to effectively extract the dominant dynamic flow structure from a unsteady flow field. However, DMD requires massive computational resources with respect to memory consumption and the usage of storage. In this paper, an alternative incremental algorithm of Total DMD (Incremental TDMD) is proposed which is based on Incremental Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). The advantage of Incremental TDMD compared to the existing on-the-fly algorithms of DMD is that Sparsity-Promoting DMD (SPDMD) can be performed after the incremental process without saving huge datasets on the disk space. SPDMD combined with Incremental TDMD enable the effective identification of dominant modes which are relevant to the results from conventional TDMD combined with SPDMD.

Abstract:
A dynamical Yang-Baxter map, introduced by Shibukawa, is a solution of the set-theoretical analogue of the dynamical Yang-Baxter equation. In this paper, we initiate a quiver-theoretical approach for the study of dynamical Yang-Baxter maps. Our key observation is that the category of dynamical sets over a set $Λ$, introduced by Shibukawa to establish a categorical framework to deal with dynamical…

A dynamical Yang-Baxter map, introduced by Shibukawa, is a solution of the set-theoretical analogue of the dynamical Yang-Baxter equation. In this paper, we initiate a quiver-theoretical approach for the study of dynamical Yang-Baxter maps. Our key observation is that the category of dynamical sets over a set $Λ$, introduced by Shibukawa to establish a categorical framework to deal with dynamical Yang-Baxter maps, can be embedded into the category of quivers with vertices $Λ$. By using this embedding, we shed light on Shibukawa's classification result of a certain class of dynamical Yang-Baxter maps and extend his construction to obtain a new class of dynamical Yang-Baxter maps. We also discuss a relation between Shibukawa's bialgebroid associated to a dynamical Yang-Baxter map and Hayashi's weak bialgebra associated to a star-triangular face model.

A construction of smooth travel groupoids on finite graphs
Authors:
Diogo Kendy Matsumoto,
Atsuhiko Mizusawa
Abstract:
A travel groupoid is an algebraic system related with graphs. In this paper, we give an algorithm to construct smooth travel groupoids for any finite graph. This algorithm gives an answer of L.~Nebesk$\acute{\mbox{y}}$'s question, "Does there exists a connected graph $G$ such that $G$ has no smooth travel groupoid?", in finite cases.

Combinatorial aspects of dynamical Yang-Baxter maps and dynamical braces

In this article we propose an algebraic system, which is an abelian group $(A,+)$ with a family of non-associative and non-(left)distributive multiplications $\{\cdot_λ\}_{λ\in H}$. We call this algebraic system dynamical brace. The dynamical brace corresponds to a certain dynamical Yang-Baxter map (which is left nondegenerate and satisfy the unitary condition). Combinatorial aspects of the dynamical brace give us a correspondence between the dynamical brace and a certain family of subsets of $A\rtimes Aut(A)$. From this viewpoint we give an interpretation and examples of the dynamical brace.
