In this paper, we tackle the problem of how to build and benchmark a large motion model (LMM). The ultimate goal of LMM is to serve as a foundation model for versatile motion-related tasks, e.g., human motion generation, with interpretability and generalizability. Though advanced, recent LMM-related works are still limited by small-scale motion data and costly text descriptions. Besides, previous motion benchmarks primarily focus on pure body movements, neglecting the ubiquitous motions in context, i.e., humans interacting with humans, objects, and scenes. To address these limitations, we consolidate large-scale video action datasets as knowledge banks to build MotionBank, which comprises 13 video action datasets, 1.24M motion sequences, and 132.9M frames of natural and diverse human motions. Different from laboratory-captured motions, in-the-wild human-centric videos contain abundant motions in context. To facilitate better motion text alignment, we also meticulously devise a motion caption generation algorithm to automatically produce rule-based, unbiased, and disentangled text descriptions via the kinematic characteristics for each motion. Extensive experiments show that our MotionBank is beneficial for general motion-related tasks of human motion generation, motion in-context generation, and motion understanding. Video motions together with the rule-based text annotations could serve as an efficient alternative for larger LMMs. Our dataset, codes, and benchmark will be publicly available at https://github.com/liangxuy/MotionBank.

The study of beta decay of the charmed baryon provides unique insights into the fundamental mechanism of the strong and electro-weak interactions. The $Λ_c^+$, being the lightest charmed baryon, undergoes disintegration solely through the charm quark weak decay. Its beta decay provides an ideal laboratory for investigating non-perturbative effects in quantum chromodynamics and for constraining the fundamental parameters of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix in weak interaction theory. This article presents the first observation of the Cabibbo-suppressed $Λ_c^+$ beta decay into a neutron $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow n e^+ ν_{e}$, based on $4.5~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of electron-positron annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector in the energy region above the $Λ^+_c\barΛ^-_c$ threshold. A novel machine learning technique, leveraging Graph Neural Networks, has been utilized to effectively separate signals from dominant backgrounds, particularly $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow Λe^+ ν_{e}$. This approach has yielded a statistical significance of more than $10σ$. The absolute branching fraction of $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow n e^+ ν_{e}$ is measured to be $(3.57\pm0.34_{\mathrm{stat}}\pm0.14_{\mathrm{syst}})\times 10^{-3}$. For the first time, the CKM matrix element $\left|V_{cd}\right|$ is extracted via a charmed baryon decay to be $0.208\pm0.011_{\rm exp.}\pm0.007_{\rm LQCD}\pm0.001_{τ_{Λ_c^+}}$. This study provides a new probe to further understand fundamental interactions in the charmed baryon sector, and demonstrates the power of modern machine learning techniques in enhancing experimental capability in high energy physics research.

This result resolves the longstanding discrepancy between earlier experimental searches, providing both a decisive conclusion and valuable input for QCD-inspired theoretical models. A sophisticated deep learning approach using a Transformer-based architecture is employed to distinguish the signal from the prevalent hadronic backgrounds, complemented by thorough validation and systematic uncertainty quantification.

The existence of pseudorandom unitaries (PRUs) -- efficient quantum circuits that are computationally indistinguishable from Haar-random unitaries -- has been a central open question, with significant implications for cryptography, complexity theory, and fundamental physics. In this work, we close this question by proving that PRUs exist, assuming that any quantum-secure one-way function exists. We establish this result for both (1) the standard notion of PRUs, which are secure against any efficient adversary that makes queries to the unitary $U$, and (2) a stronger notion of PRUs, which are secure even against adversaries that can query both the unitary $U$ and its inverse $U^\dagger$. In the process, we prove that any algorithm that makes queries to a Haar-random unitary can be efficiently simulated on a quantum computer, up to inverse-exponential trace distance.

Parameter Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) offers an efficient solution for fine-tuning large pretrained language models for downstream tasks. However, most PEFT strategies are manually designed, often resulting in suboptimal performance. Recent automatic PEFT approaches aim to address this but face challenges such as search space entanglement, inefficiency, and lack of integration between parameter budgets and search processes. To overcome these issues, we introduce a novel Budget-guided Iterative search strategy for automatic PEFT (BIPEFT), significantly enhancing search efficiency. BIPEFT employs a new iterative search strategy to disentangle the binary module and rank dimension search spaces. Additionally, we design early selection strategies based on parameter budgets, accelerating the learning process by gradually removing unimportant modules and fixing rank dimensions. Extensive experiments on public benchmarks demonstrate the superior performance of BIPEFT in achieving efficient and effective PEFT for downstream tasks with a low parameter budget.

These environments-such as rural areas and rugged terrains-pose unique obstacles that are not common in structured urban areas. Despite these difficulties, autonomous driving in unstructured outdoor environments is crucial for applications in agriculture, mining, and military operations. Our survey reviews over 250 papers for autonomous driving in unstructured outdoor environments, covering offline mapping, pose estimation, environmental perception, path planning, end-to-end autonomous driving, datasets, and relevant challenges. We also discuss emerging trends and future research directions. This review aims to consolidate knowledge and encourage further research for autonomous driving in unstructured environments. Using $20.3~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of $E_{\rm cm}=3.773$ GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we determine the branching fraction of the leptonic decay $D^+\toμ^+ν_μ$ to be $(3.981\pm0.079_{\rm stat}\pm0.040_{\rm syst})\times10^{-4}$. Interpreting our measurement with knowledge of the Fermi coupling constant $G_F$, the masses of the $D^+$ and $μ^+$ as well as the lifetime of the $D^+$, we determine $f_{D^+}|V_{cd}|=(47.53\pm0.48_{\rm stat}\pm0.24_{\rm syst}\pm0.12_{\rm input})~\mathrm{MeV}$. This result is a factor of 2.3 more precise than the previous best measurement. Using the value of the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cd}|$ given by the global standard model fit, we obtain the $D^+$ decay constant $f_{D^+}=(211.5\pm2.3_{\rm stat}\pm1.1_{\rm syst}\pm0.8_{\rm input})$ MeV. In this work, we introduce MOLA: a Multi-block Orthogonal Long short-term memory Autoencoder paradigm, to conduct accurate, reliable fault detection of industrial processes. To achieve this, MOLA effectively extracts dynamic orthogonal features by introducing an orthogonality-based loss function to constrain the latent space output. This helps eliminate the redundancy in the features identified, thereby improving the overall monitoring performance. On top of this, a multi-block monitoring structure is proposed, which categorizes the process variables into multiple blocks by leveraging expert process knowledge about their associations with the overall process. Each block is associated with its specific Orthogonal Long short-term memory Autoencoder model, whose extracted dynamic orthogonal features are monitored by distance-based Hotelling's $T^2$ statistics and quantile-based cumulative sum (CUSUM) designed for multivariate data streams that are nonparametric, heterogeneous in nature. Compared to having a single model accounting for all process variables, such a multi-block structure improves the overall process monitoring performance significantly, especially for large-scale industrial processes. Finally, we propose an adaptive weight-based Bayesian fusion (W-BF) framework to aggregate all block-wise monitoring statistics into a global statistic that we monitor for faults, with the goal of improving fault detection speed by assigning weights to blocks based on the sequential order where alarms are raised. We demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of our MOLA framework by applying it to the Tennessee Eastman Process and comparing the performance with various benchmark methods.

Relativistic quasiparticle excitations arising from band degeneracies in crystals not only offer exciting chances to test hypotheses in particle physics but also play crucial roles in the transport and topological properties of materials and metamaterials. Quasiparticles are commonly described by low-energy Hamiltonians that are Hermitian, while non-Hermiticity is usually considered detrimental to quasiparticle physics. In this work, we show that such an assumption of Hermiticity can be lifted to bring quasiparticles into non-Hermitian systems. We propose a concrete lattice model containing two non-Hermitian Dirac cones, with one hosting amplifying Dirac quasiparticles and the other hosting decaying ones. The lifetime contrast between the Dirac cones at the two valleys imposes an ultra-strong valley selection rule not seen in any Hermitian systems: only one valley can survive in the long time limit regardless of the excitation, lattice shape and other details. This property leads to an effective parity anomaly with a single Dirac cone and offers a simple way to generate vortex states in the massive case. The non-Hermitian feature of the bulk Dirac cones can also be generalized to the boundary, giving rise to valley kink states with valley-locked lifetimes. This makes the kink states effectively unidirectional and more resistant against inter-valley scattering. All these phenomena are experimentally demonstrated in a non-Hermitian electric circuit lattice.

In recent years, the issue of radon emanation and diffusion has become a critical concern for rare decay experiments, such as JUNO and PandaX-4T. This paper introduces a detector design featuring a symmetric radon detector cavity for the quantitative assessment of membrane materials' radon blocking capabilities. The performance of this design is evaluated through the application of Fick's Law and the diffusion equation considering material solubility. Our detector has completed measurements of radon diffusion coefficients for four types of membrane materials currently used in experiments, which also confirms the rationality of this detector design. The findings are instrumental in guiding the selection and evaluation of optimal materials for radon shielding to reduce radon background, contributing to boost sensitivities of rare event research.

In this paper, a new estimation framework, Maximum Ideal Likelihood Estimator (MILE), is proposed for general parametric models with latent variables and missing values. Instead of focusing on the marginal likelihood of the observed data as in many traditional approaches, the MILE directly considers the joint distribution of the complete dataset by treating the latent variables as parameters (the ideal likelihood). The MILE framework remains valid, even when traditional methods are not applicable, e.g., non-finite conditional expectation of the marginal likelihood function, via different optimization techniques and algorithms. The statistical properties of the MILE, such as the asymptotic equivalence to the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE), are proved under some mild conditions, which facilitate statistical inference and prediction. Simulation studies illustrate that MILE outperforms traditional approaches with computational feasibility and scalability using existing and our proposed algorithms.

Road curbs are considered as one of the crucial and ubiquitous traffic features, which are essential for ensuring the safety of autonomous vehicles. Current methods for detecting curbs primarily rely on camera imagery or LiDAR point clouds. Image-based methods are vulnerable to fluctuations in lighting conditions and exhibit poor robustness, while methods based on point clouds circumvent the issues associated with lighting variations. However, it is the typical case that significant processing delays are encountered due to the voluminous amount of 3D points contained in each frame of the point cloud data. Furthermore, the inherently unstructured characteristics of point clouds poses challenges for integrating the latest deep learning advancements into point cloud data applications. To address these issues, this work proposes an annotation-free curb detection method leveraging Altitude Difference Image (ADI), which effectively mitigates the aforementioned challenges. Given that methods based on deep learning generally demand extensive, manually annotated datasets, which are both expensive and labor-intensive to create, we present an Automatic Curb Annotator (ACA) module. This module utilizes a deterministic curb detection algorithm to automatically generate a vast quantity of training data. Consequently, it facilitates the training of the curb detection model without necessitating any manual annotation of data. Finally, by incorporating a post-processing module, we manage to achieve state-of-the-art results on the KITTI 3D curb dataset with considerably reduced processing delays compared to existing methods, which underscores the effectiveness of our approach in curb detection tasks.

Pre-training techniques play a crucial role in deep learning, enhancing models' performance across a variety of tasks. By initially training on large datasets and subsequently fine-tuning on task-specific data, pre-training provides a solid foundation for models, improving generalization abilities and accelerating convergence rates. This approach has seen significant success in the fields of natural language processing and computer vision. However, traditional pre-training methods necessitate large datasets and substantial computational resources, and they can only learn shared features through prolonged training and struggle to capture deeper, task-specific features. In this paper, we propose a task-oriented pre-training method that begins with generating redundant segmentation proposals using the Segment Anything (SAM) model. We then introduce a Specific Category Enhancement Fine-tuning (SCEF) strategy for fine-tuning the Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) model to select proposals most closely related to the drivable area from those generated by SAM. This approach can generate a lot of coarse training data for pre-training models, which are further fine-tuned using manually annotated data, thereby improving model's performance. Comprehensive experiments conducted on the KITTI road dataset demonstrate that our task-oriented pre-training method achieves an all-around performance improvement compared to models without pre-training. Moreover, our pre-training method not only surpasses traditional pre-training approach but also achieves the best performance compared to state-of-the-art self-training methods.

Data augmentation is one of the most common tools in deep learning, underpinning many recent advances including tasks such as classification, detection, and semantic segmentation. The standard approach to data augmentation involves simple transformations like rotation and flipping to generate new images. However, these new images often lack diversity along the main semantic dimensions within the data. Traditional data augmentation methods cannot alter high-level semantic attributes such as the presence of vehicles, trees, and buildings in a scene to enhance data diversity. In recent years, the rapid development of generative models has injected new vitality into the field of data augmentation. In this paper, we address the lack of diversity in data augmentation for road detection task by using a pre-trained text-to-image diffusion model to parameterize image-to-image transformations. Our method involves editing images using these diffusion models to change their semantics. In essence, we achieve this goal by erasing instances of real objects from the original dataset and generating new instances with similar semantics in the erased regions using the diffusion model, thereby expanding the original dataset. We evaluate our approach on the KITTI road dataset and achieve the best results compared to other data augmentation methods, which demonstrates the effectiveness of our proposed development.

Traffic sign is a critical map feature for navigation and traffic control. Nevertheless, current methods for traffic sign recognition rely on traditional deep learning models, which typically suffer from significant performance degradation considering the variations in data distribution across different regions. In this paper, we propose TSCLIP, a robust fine-tuning approach with the contrastive language-image pre-training (CLIP) model for worldwide cross-regional traffic sign recognition. We first curate a cross-regional traffic sign benchmark dataset by combining data from ten different sources. Then, we propose a prompt engineering scheme tailored to the characteristics of traffic signs, which involves specific scene descriptions and corresponding rules to generate targeted text descriptions for optimizing the model training process. During the TSCLIP fine-tuning process, we implement adaptive dynamic weight ensembling (ADWE) to seamlessly incorporate outcomes from each training iteration with the zero-shot CLIP model. This approach ensures that the model retains its ability to generalize while acquiring new knowledge about traffic signs. Our method surpasses conventional classification benchmark models in cross-regional traffic sign evaluations, and it achieves state-of-the-art performance compared to existing CLIP fine-tuning techniques. To the best knowledge of authors, TSCLIP is the first contrastive language-image model used for the worldwide cross-regional traffic sign recognition task. However, their use in depth estimation is restricted by a scarcity of ground truth data and image distortions. We present FisheyeDepth, a self-supervised depth estimation model tailored for fisheye cameras. We incorporate a fisheye camera model into the projection and reprojection stages during training to handle image distortions, thereby improving depth estimation accuracy and training stability. Furthermore, we incorporate real-scale pose information into the geometric projection between consecutive frames, replacing the poses estimated by the conventional pose network. Essentially, this method offers the necessary physical depth for robotic tasks, and also streamlines the training and inference procedures. Additionally, we devise a multi-channel output strategy to improve robustness by adaptively fusing features at various scales, which reduces the noise from real pose data. Most existing adversarial attack methods for remote sensing images merely add adversarial perturbations or patches, resulting in unnatural modifications. Clouds are common atmospheric effects in remote sensing images. Generating clouds on these images can produce adversarial examples better aligning with human perception. In this paper, we propose a Perlin noise based cloud generation attack method. Common Perlin noise based cloud generation is a random, non-optimizable process, which cannot be directly used to attack the target models. We design a Perlin Gradient Generator Network (PGGN), which takes a gradient parameter vector as input and outputs the grids of Perlin noise gradient vectors at different scales. After a series of computations based on the gradient vectors, cloud masks at corresponding scales can be produced. These cloud masks are then weighted and summed depending on a mixing coefficient vector and a scaling factor to produce the final cloud masks. The gradient vector, coefficient vector and scaling factor are collectively represented as a cloud parameter vector, transforming the cloud generation into a black-box optimization problem. The Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm is employed to solve for the optimal solution of the cloud parameter vector, achieving a query-based black-box attack. Detailed experiments confirm that this method has strong attack capabilities and achieves high query efficiency. Additionally, we analyze the transferability of the generated adversarial examples and their robustness in adversarial defense scenarios.

Speculative Decoding (SD) is a technique to accelerate the inference of Large Language Models (LLMs) by using a lower complexity draft model to propose candidate tokens verified by a larger target model. To further improve efficiency, Multi-Candidate Speculative Decoding (MCSD) improves upon this by sampling multiple candidate tokens from the draft model at each step and verifying them in parallel, thus increasing the chances of accepting a token and reducing generation time. Existing MCSD methods rely on the draft model to initialize the multi-candidate sequences and use static length and tree attention structure for draft generation. However, such an approach suffers from the draft and target model's output distribution differences, especially in dynamic generation context. In this work, we introduce an improved version of MCSD that includes a target model initialized multi-candidate process, dynamic sliced topology-aware causal mask for dynamic length adjustment, and decision models to optimize early stopping. Our framework improves the acceptance rate, defined as the ratio of the longest draft sequence length accepted by the target model over the maximum draft sequence length, by a maximum of 164% and gains a maximum of 75% generation speed up over the MCSD baseline. We also conduct an ablation study to evaluate the impact of the decision model.

By performing an amplitude analysis, we measure the hadronic form-factor ratios of $D^0\to ρ(770)^-e^+ν_e$ at $q^2=0$ assuming the single-pole-dominance parametrization: $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.548\pm0.079(\rm stat.)\pm0.041(\rm syst.)$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.823\pm0.056(\rm stat.)\pm0.026(\rm syst.)$.

The kagome material CsTi$_3$Bi$_5$, which is isostructural to the extensively studied charge density wave (CDW) compound CsV$_3$Sb$_5$, exhibits intriguing electronic features within its two-dimensional kagome lattices of titanium atoms. Here, we perform optical spectroscopic measurements together with the first-principles calculations on single-crystalline CsTi$_3$Bi$_5$ to investigate its electronic properties comprehensively. It is found that the overall optical spectra are very similar to those of CsV$_3$Sb$_5$, but the existence of CDW instability is ruled out in CsTi$_3$Bi$_5$. Via careful comparison to the optical responses of CsV$_3$Sb$_5$, we attribute this difference to a significant reduction in the itinerant carrier density of CsTi$_3$Bi$_5$, which is associated with the absence of van Hove singularity near the Fermi level at $M$ point. This result supports the scenario that the CDW in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ is driven by the nesting of van Hove singularity. Additionally, we unveil some exotic low-lying absorption features, which provide clear evidence of flat bands in CsTi$_3$Bi$_5$. Our findings contribute to a deeper understanding of exotic phenomena in CsTi$_3$Bi$_5$ and provide valuable insights into the role of van Hove singularity in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$.

Audio-driven talking face generation aims to synthesize video with lip movements synchronized to input audio. However, current generative techniques face challenges in preserving intricate regional textures (skin, teeth). To address the aforementioned challenges, we propose a novel framework called SegTalker to decouple lip movements and image textures by introducing segmentation as intermediate representation. Specifically, given the mask of image employed by a parsing network, we first leverage the speech to drive the mask and generate talking segmentation. Then we disentangle semantic regions of image into style codes using a mask-guided encoder. Ultimately, we inject the previously generated talking segmentation and style codes into a mask-guided StyleGAN to synthesize video frame. In this way, most of textures are fully preserved. Moreover, our approach can inherently achieve background separation and facilitate mask-guided facial local editing. In particular, by editing the mask and swapping the region textures from a given reference image (e.g. hair, lip, eyebrows), our approach enables facial editing seamlessly when generating talking face video. Experiments demonstrate that our proposed approach can effectively preserve texture details and generate temporally consistent video while remaining competitive in lip synchronization. Quantitative and qualitative results on the HDTF and MEAD datasets illustrate the superior performance of our method over existing methods.

Topological surface states are unique to topological materials and are immune to disturbances. In isostatic lattices, mechanical topological floppy modes exhibit softness depending on the polarization relative to the terminating surface. However, in three dimensions, the polarization of topological floppy modes is disrupted by the ubiquitous mechanical Weyl lines. Here, we demonstrate, both theoretically and experimentally, the fully-polarized topological mechanical phases free of Weyl lines. Floppy modes emerge exclusively on a particular surface of the three-dimensional isostatic structure, leading to the strongly asymmetric stiffness between opposing boundaries. Additionally, uniform soft strains can reversibly shift the lattice configuration to Weyl phases, reducing the stiffness contrast to a trivially comparable level. Our work demonstrates the fully-polarized topological mechanical phases in three dimensions, and paves the way towards engineering soft and adaptive metamaterials.

This technical report outlines our submission system for the CHiME-8 NOTSOFAR-1 Challenge. The primary difficulty of this challenge is the dataset recorded across various conference rooms, which captures real-world complexities such as high overlap rates, background noises, a variable number of speakers, and natural conversation styles. To address these issues, we optimized the system in several aspects: For front-end speech signal processing, we introduced a data-driven joint training method for diarization and separation (JDS) to enhance audio quality. Additionally, we also integrated traditional guided source separation (GSS) for multi-channel track to provide complementary information for the JDS. For back-end speech recognition, we enhanced Whisper with WavLM, ConvNeXt, and Transformer innovations, applying multi-task training and Noise KLD augmentation, to significantly advance ASR robustness and accuracy. Our system attained a Time-Constrained minimum Permutation Word Error Rate (tcpWER) of 14.265% and 22.989% on the CHiME-8 NOTSOFAR-1 Dev-set-2 multi-channel and single-channel tracks, respectively.

Dense colored point clouds enhance visual perception and are of significant value in various robotic applications. However, existing learning-based point cloud upsampling methods are constrained by computational resources and batch processing strategies, which often require subdividing point clouds into smaller patches, leading to distortions that degrade perceptual quality. To address this challenge, we propose a novel 2D-3D hybrid colored point cloud upsampling framework (GaussianPU) based on 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) for robotic perception. This approach leverages 3DGS to bridge 3D point clouds with their 2D rendered images in robot vision systems. A dual scale rendered image restoration network transforms sparse point cloud renderings into dense representations, which are then input into 3DGS along with precise robot camera poses and interpolated sparse point clouds to reconstruct dense 3D point clouds. We have made a series of enhancements to the vanilla 3DGS, enabling precise control over the number of points and significantly boosting the quality of the upsampled point cloud for robotic scene understanding. Our framework supports processing entire point clouds on a single consumer-grade GPU, such as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, eliminating the need for segmentation and thus producing high-quality, dense colored point clouds with millions of points for robot navigation and manipulation tasks. Extensive experimental results on generating million-level point cloud data validate the effectiveness of our method, substantially improving the quality of colored point clouds and demonstrating significant potential for applications involving large-scale point clouds in autonomous robotics and human-robot interaction scenarios.

We explore Bird's-Eye View (BEV) generation, converting a BEV map into its corresponding multi-view street images. Valued for its unified spatial representation aiding multi-sensor fusion, BEV is pivotal for various autonomous driving applications. Creating accurate street-view images from BEV maps is essential for portraying complex traffic scenarios and enhancing driving algorithms. Concurrently, diffusion-based conditional image generation models have demonstrated remarkable outcomes, adept at producing diverse, high-quality, and condition-aligned results. Nonetheless, the training of these models demands substantial data and computational resources. Hence, exploring methods to fine-tune these advanced models, like Stable Diffusion, for specific conditional generation tasks emerges as a promising avenue. In this paper, we introduce a practical framework for generating images from a BEV layout. Our approach comprises two main components: the Neural View Transformation and the Street Image Generation. The Neural View Transformation phase converts the BEV map into aligned multi-view semantic segmentation maps by learning the shape correspondence between the BEV and perspective views. Subsequently, the Street Image Generation phase utilizes these segmentations as a condition to guide a fine-tuned latent diffusion model. This finetuning process ensures both view and style consistency. Our model leverages the generative capacity of large pretrained diffusion models within traffic contexts, effectively yielding diverse and condition-coherent street view images.

The obtained results are consistent with the world average values within the uncertainties, offering valuable insights into the underlying mechanism governing the weak radiative hyperon decays. The charge conjugation parity ($CP$) symmetries of branching fraction and decay asymmetry parameter in the decay are also studied. The study exploits a sample of quantum-correlated $D\bar{D}$ mesons collected by the BESIII experiment in $e^+e^-$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93~fb$^{-1}$. Here, $D$ denotes a neutral charm meson in a superposition of flavor eigenstates. The reported results are valuable for measurements of the $C\!P$-violating phase $γ$ (also denoted $φ_3$) in $B^\pm \to DK^\pm$, $D \to π^+π^-π^+π^-$ decays, and the binning schemes are designed to provide good statistical sensitivity to this parameter. The expected uncertainty on $γ$ arising from the precision of the strong-phase measurements, when applied to very large samples of $B$-meson decays, is around $1.5^\circ$ or $2^\circ$, depending on the binning scheme. The binned strong-phase parameters are combined to give a value of $F_+^{4π} = 0.746 \pm 0.010 \pm 0.004$ for the $C\!P$-even fraction of $D^0 \to π^+π^-π^+π^-$ decays, which is around 30\% more precise than the previous best measurement of this quantity.

Large Language Models (LLMs) have garnered widespread attention due to their remarkable performance across various tasks. However, to mitigate the issue of hallucinations, LLMs often incorporate retrieval-augmented pipeline to provide them with rich external knowledge and context. Nevertheless, challenges stem from inaccurate and coarse-grained context retrieved from the retriever. Supplying irrelevant context to the LLMs can result in poorer responses, increased inference latency, and higher costs. This paper introduces a method called Instruction-Aware Contextual Compression, which filters out less informative content, thereby accelerating and enhancing the use of LLMs. The experimental results demonstrate that Instruction-Aware Contextual Compression notably reduces memory consumption and minimizes generation latency while maintaining performance levels comparable to those achieved with the use of the full context. Specifically, we achieved a 50% reduction in context-related costs, resulting in a 5% reduction in inference memory usage and a 2.2-fold increase in inference speed, with only a minor drop of 0.047 in Rouge-1. These findings suggest that our method strikes an effective balance between efficiency and performance.

In the realm of multimodal research, numerous studies leverage substantial image-text pairs to conduct modal alignment learning, transforming Large Language Models (LLMs) into Multimodal LLMs and excelling in a variety of visual-language tasks. The prevailing methodologies primarily fall into two categories: self-attention-based and cross-attention-based methods. While self-attention-based methods offer superior data efficiency due to their simple MLP architecture, they often suffer from lower computational efficiency due to concatenating visual and textual tokens as input for LLM. Conversely, cross-attention-based methods, although less data-efficient due to additional learnable parameters, exhibit higher computational efficiency by avoiding long sequence input for LLM. To address these trade-offs, we introduce the Data-Efficient and Compute-Efficient Multimodal Large Language Model (EE-MLLM). Without introducing additional modules or learnable parameters, EE-MLLM achieves both data and compute efficiency. Specifically, we modify the original self-attention mechanism in MLLM to a composite attention mechanism. This mechanism has two key characteristics: 1) Eliminating the computational overhead of self-attention within visual tokens to achieve compute efficiency, and 2) Reusing the weights on each layer of LLM to facilitate effective modality alignment between vision and language for data efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of EE-MLLM across a range of benchmarks, including general-purpose datasets like MMBench and SeedBench, as well as fine-grained tasks such as TextVQA and DocVQA.

Foundation models have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in handling diverse modalities and tasks, outperforming conventional artificial intelligence (AI) approaches that are highly task-specific and modality-reliant. In the medical domain, however, the development of comprehensive foundation models is constrained by limited access to diverse modalities and stringent privacy regulations. To address these constraints, this study introduces a novel knowledge injection approach, FedKIM, designed to scale the medical foundation model within a federated learning framework. FedKIM leverages lightweight local models to extract healthcare knowledge from private data and integrates this knowledge into a centralized foundation model using a designed adaptive Multitask Multimodal Mixture Of Experts (M3OE) module. This method not only preserves privacy but also enhances the model's ability to handle complex medical tasks involving multiple modalities. Our extensive experiments across twelve tasks in seven modalities demonstrate the effectiveness of FedKIM in various settings, highlighting its potential to scale medical foundation models without direct access to sensitive data.

This study introduces the Federated Medical Knowledge Injection (FEDMEKI) platform, a new benchmark designed to address the unique challenges of integrating medical knowledge into foundation models under privacy constraints. By leveraging a cross-silo federated learning approach, FEDMEKI circumvents the issues associated with centralized data collection, which is often prohibited under health regulations like the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the USA. The platform is meticulously designed to handle multi-site, multi-modal, and multi-task medical data, which includes 7 medical modalities, including images, signals, texts, laboratory test results, vital signs, input variables, and output variables. The curated dataset to validate FEDMEKI covers 8 medical tasks, including 6 classification tasks (lung opacity detection, COVID-19 detection, electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormal detection, mortality prediction, sepsis prediction, and enlarged cardiomediastinum detection) and 2 generation tasks (medical visual question answering (MedVQA) and ECG noise clarification). This comprehensive dataset is partitioned across several clients to facilitate the decentralized training process under 16 benchmark approaches. FEDMEKI not only preserves data privacy but also enhances the capability of medical foundation models by allowing them to learn from a broader spectrum of medical knowledge without direct data exposure, thereby setting a new benchmark in the application of foundation models within the healthcare sector.

Abstract:
Using $(10087\pm44)\times10^6J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we search for the rare decay $J/ψ\to γD^0+c.c.$ for the first time. No obvious signal is observed and the upper limit on the branching fraction is determined to be ${\cal B}(J/ψ\to γD^{0}+c.c.)< 9.1 \times 10^{-8}$ at 90\% confidence level.

Evidence of $η_{c}(2S)\toωω$ is found with a statistical significance of $3.2σ$. The branching fraction is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(η_{c}(2S)\toωω)=(5.65\pm3.77(\rm stat.)\pm5.32(\rm syst.))\times10^{-4}$. No statistically significant signal is observed for the decay $η_{c}(2S)\toωφ$. The upper limit of the branching fraction at the 90\% confidence level is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(ψ(2S)\toγη_{c}(2S),η_{c}(2S)\toωφ)<2.24\times 10^{-7}$. We also update the branching fractions of $χ_{cJ}\to ωω$ and $χ_{cJ}\toωφ$ decays via the $ψ(2S)\toγχ_{cJ}$ transition. The branching fractions are determined to be $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c0}\toωω)=(10.63\pm0.11\pm0.46)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c1}\toωω)=(6.39\pm0.07\pm0.29)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c2}\toωω)=(8.50\pm0.08\pm0.38)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c0}\toωφ)=(1.18\pm0.03\pm0.05)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c1}\toωφ)=(2.03\pm0.15\pm0.12)\times 10^{-5}$, and $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c2}\toωφ)=(9.37\pm1.07\pm0.59)\times 10^{-6}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.

Meta-learning has been extensively applied in the domains of few-shot learning and fast adaptation, achieving remarkable performance. While Meta-learning methods like Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) and its variants provide a good set of initial parameters for the model, the model still tends to learn shortcut features, which leads to poor generalization. In this paper, we propose the formal conception of "learn to learn more precisely", which aims to make the model learn precise target knowledge from data and reduce the effect of noisy knowledge, such as background and noise. To achieve this target, we proposed a simple and effective meta-learning framework named Meta Self-Distillation(MSD) to maximize the consistency of learned knowledge, enhancing the models' ability to learn precise target knowledge. In the inner loop, MSD uses different augmented views of the same support data to update the model respectively. Then in the outer loop, MSD utilizes the same query data to optimize the consistency of learned knowledge, enhancing the model's ability to learn more precisely. Our experiment demonstrates that MSD exhibits remarkable performance in few-shot classification tasks in both standard and augmented scenarios, effectively boosting the accuracy and consistency of knowledge learned by the model.

Based on an analysis of the $D^+\to K_S^0π^0e^+ν_e$ decay dynamics, we observe the $S\text{-}{\rm wave}$ and $P$-wave components with fractions of $f_{S\text{-}{\rm wave}}$ = $(6.13~\pm~0.27_{\rm stat.}~\pm ~0.30_{\rm syst.})\%$ and $f_{\bar K^{*}(892)^0}$ = $(93.88~\pm~0.27_{\rm stat.}~\pm~0.29_{\rm syst.})$\%, respectively. From these results, we obtain the branching fractions ${\mathcal B}$($D^+\to (K_S^0π^0)_{S\text{-}{\rm wave}}~e^+ν_e$) = $(5.41~\pm~0.35_{\rm stat.}~\pm~0.37_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-4}$ and ${\mathcal B}$($D^+\to \bar K^{*}(892)^0e^+ν_e$) = $(4.97~\pm~0.11_{\rm stat.}~\pm~0.12_{\rm syst.})$\%. In addition, the hadronic form-factor ratios of $D^{+} \to \bar {K}^{*}(892)^0e^+ν_e$ at $q^2=0$, assuming a single-pole dominance parameterization, are determined to be $r_V=\frac{V(0)}{A_1(0)}= 1.43~\pm~0.07_{\rm stat.}~\pm~0.03_{\rm syst.}$ and $r_2=\frac{A_2(0)}{A_1(0)}=0.72~\pm~0.06_{\rm stat.}~\pm~0.02_{\rm syst.}$.

The $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowγπ^{0}$ cross section is fitted with considering the interference between the $ψ(2S)$ and continuum amplitudes and two solutions are found, ${\cal B}=3.74\times10^{-7}$ with $φ=3.93$ rad and ${\cal B}=7.87\times10^{-7}$ with $φ=2.08$ rad. Here, ${\cal B}$ is the branching fraction of $ψ(2S)\rightarrowγπ^{0}$ and $φ$ is the relative phase angle between the $ψ(2S)$ and continuum amplitudes. Due to insufficient off-resonance data, the branching fraction ${\cal B}(ψ(2S)\rightarrowγπ^{0})$ is determined to be in the range $[2.7, 9.7]\times10^{-7}$ within one standard deviation of the contour region.
