Fusion-equivariant stability conditions and Morita duality
Abstract: Given a triangulated category $D$ with an action of a fusion category $C$, we study the moduli space $Stab_{C}(D)$ of fusion-equivariant Bridgeland stability conditions on $D$. The main theorem is that the fusion-equivariant stability conditions form a closed, complex submanifold of the moduli space of stability conditions on $D$. As an application of this framework, we generalise a result of Macr… ▽ More

$q$-deformed rational numbers and the 2-Calabi--Yau category of type $A_2$
Abstract: We describe a family of compactifications of the space of Bridgeland stability conditions of any triangulated category following earlier work by Bapat, Deopurkar, and Licata. We particularly consider the case of the 2-Calabi--Yau category of the $A_2$ quiver. The compactification is the closure of an embedding (depending on $q$) of the stability space into an infinite-dimensional projective space.… ▽ More

Spherical objects and stability conditions on 2-Calabi--Yau quiver categories
Abstract: Consider a 2-Calabi--Yau triangulated category with a Bridgeland stability condition. We devise an effective procedure to reduce the phase spread of an object by applying spherical twists. Using this, we give new proofs of the following theorems for 2-Calabi--Yau categories associated to ADE quivers: (1) all spherical objects lie in a single orbit of the braid group, and (2) the space of Bridgelan… ▽ More

Gale duality and Koszul duality
Abstract: Given an affine hyperplane arrangement with some additional structure, we define two finite-dimensional, noncommutative algebras, both of which are motivated by the geometry of hypertoric varieties. We show that these algebras are Koszul dual to each other, and that the roles of the two algebras are reversed by Gale duality. We also study the centers and representation categories of our algebras… ▽ More

Theory and modeling of particles with DNA-mediated interactions
Abstract: In recent years significant attention has been attracted to proposals which utilize DNA for nanotechnological applications. Potential applications of these ideas range from the programmable self-assembly of colloidal crystals, to biosensors and nanoparticle based drug delivery platforms. In Chapter I we introduce the system, which generically consists of colloidal particles functionalized with s… ▽ More

How to build nanoblocks using DNA scaffolds
Abstract: In recent years there have been a number of proposals to utilize the specificity of DNA based interactions for potential applications in nanoscience. One interesting direction is the self-assembly of micro- and nanoparticle clusters using DNA scaffolds. In this letter we consider a DNA scaffold method to self-assemble clusters of "colored" particles. Stable clusters of microspheres have recently… ▽ More

Kinetic limitations of cooperativity based drug delivery systems
Abstract: We study theoretically a novel drug delivery system that utilizes the overexpression of certain proteins in cancerous cells for cell specific chemotherapy. The system consists of dendrimers conjugated with "keys" (ex: folic acid) which "key-lock" bind to particular cell membrane proteins (ex: folate receptor). The increased concentration of "locks" on the surface leads to a longer residence time… ▽ More

Colloids with key-lock interactions: non-exponential relaxation, aging and anomalous diffusion
Abstract: The dynamics of particles interacting by key-lock binding of attached biomolecules are studied theoretically. Experimental realizations of such systems include colloids grafted with complementary single-stranded DNA (ssDNA), and particles grafted with antibodies to cell-membrane proteins. Depending on the coverage of the functional groups, we predict two distinct regimes. In the low coverage loc… ▽ More

Dynamics of particles with "key-lock" interactions
Abstract: The dynamics of particles interacting by key-lock binding of attached biomolecules are studied theoretically. Examples of such systems include DNA-functionalized colloids as well as nanoparticles grafted with antibodies to cell membrane proteins. Depending on the coverage of the functional groups, we predict two distinct regimes separated by a percolation transition. In the localized regime at l… ▽ More

Framed Rank r Torsion-free Sheaves on CP^2 and Representations of the Affine Lie Algebra \hat{gl(r)}
Abstract: We construct geometric realizations of the r-colored bosonic and fermionic Fock space on the equivariant cohomology of the moduli space of framed rank r torsion-free sheaves on CP^2. Using these constructions, we realize geometrically all level one irreducible representations of the affine Lie algebra \hat{gl(r)}. The cyclic group Z_k acts naturally on the moduli space of sheaves, and the fixed-… ▽ More

Statistical Mechanics of DNA-Mediated Colloidal Aggregation
Abstract: We present a statistical mechanical model of aggregation in colloidal systems with DNA mediated interactions. We obtain a general result for the two-particle binding energy in terms of the hybridization free energy $ΔG$ of DNA and two model dependent properties: the average number of available DNA bridges $\left< N\right>$ and the effective DNA conccentration $c_{eff}$. We calculate these parame… ▽ More

Self-assembly of DNA-coded nanoclusters
Abstract: We present a theoretical discussion of a self-assembly scheme which makes it possible to use DNA to uniquely encode the composition and structure of micro- and nanoparticle clusters. These anisotropic DNA-decorated clusters can be further used as building blocks for hierarchical self-assembly of larger structures. We address several important aspects of possible experimental implementation of th… ▽ More

Error-proof programmable self-assembly of DNA-nanoparticle clusters
Abstract: We study theoretically a new generic scheme of programmable self-assembly of nanoparticles into clusters of desired geometry. The problem is motivated by the feasibility of highly selective DNA-mediated interactions between colloidal particles. By analyzing both a simple generic model and a more realistic description of a DNA-colloidal system, we demonstrate that it is possible to suppress the g… ▽ More
