Libraries are increasingly relying on computational methods, including methods from Artificial Intelligence (AI). This increasing usage raises concerns about the risks of AI that are currently broadly discussed in scientific literature, the media and law-making. In this article we investigate the risks surrounding bias and unfairness in AI usage in classification and automated text analysis within the context of library applications. We describe examples that show how the library community has been aware of such risks for a long time, and how it has developed and deployed countermeasures. We take a closer look at the notion of '(un)fairness' in relation to the notion of 'diversity', and we investigate a formalisation of diversity that models both inclusion and distribution. We argue that many of the unfairness problems of automated content analysis can also be regarded through the lens of diversity and the countermeasures taken to enhance diversity.

Diversity Searcher is a tool originally developed to help analyse diversity in news media texts. It relies on a form of automated content analysis and thus rests on prior assumptions and depends on certain design choices related to diversity and fairness. One such design choice is the external knowledge source(s) used. In this article, we discuss implications that these sources can have on the results of content analysis. We compare two data sources that Diversity Searcher has worked with - DBpedia and Wikidata - with respect to their ontological coverage and diversity, and describe implications for the resulting analyses of text corpora. We describe a case study of the relative over- or under-representation of Belgian political parties between 1990 and 2020 in the English-language DBpedia, the Dutch-language DBpedia, and Wikidata, and highlight the many decisions needed with regard to the design of this data analysis and the assumptions behind it, as well as implications from the results. In particular, we came across a staggering over-representation of the political right in the English-language DBpedia.

Triple gauge boson production provides a promising opportunity to probe the anomalous quartic gauge couplings in understanding the details of electroweak symmetry breaking at future hadron-hadron collider facilities with increasing center of mass energy and luminosity. In this paper, we investigate the sensitivities of dimension-8 anomalous couplings related to the $ZZγγ$ and $Zγγγ$ quartic vertices, defined in the effective field theory framework, via $pp\to Zγγ$ signal process with Z-boson decaying to charged leptons at the high luminosity phase of LHC (HL-LHC) and future facilities, namely the High Energy LHC (HE-LHC) and Future Circular hadron-hadron collider (FCC-hh). We analyzed the signal and relevant backgrounds via a cut based method with Monte Carlo event sampling where the detector responses of three hadron collider facilities, the center-of-mass energies of 14, 27 and 100 TeV with an integrated luminosities of 3, 15 and 30 ab$^{-1}$ are considered for the HL-LHC, HE-LHC and FCC-hh, respectively. The reconstructed 4-body invariant mass of $l^+l^-γγ$ system is used to constrain the anomalous quartic gauge coupling parameters under the hypothesis of absence of anomalies in triple gauge couplings. Our results indicate that the sensitivity on anomalous quartic couplings $f_{T8}/Λ^{4}$ and $f_{T9}/Λ^{4}$ ($f_{T0}/Λ^{4}$, $f_{T1}/Λ^{4}$ and $f_{T2}/Λ^{4}$) at 95$\%$ C.L. for FCC-hh with $L_{int}$ = 30 ab$^{-1}$ without systematic errors are two (one) order better than the current experimental limits. Considering a realistic systematic uncertainty such as 10$\%$ from possible experimental sources, the sensitivity of all anomalous quartic couplings gets worsen by about 1.2$\%$, 1.7$\%$ and 1.5$\%$ compared to those without systematic uncertainty for HL-LHC, HE-LHC and FCC-hh, respectively.

A phenomenological study of CP-violating dimension-six operators via the $e^+e^-\toν\barν H$ process is performed in a model-independent Standard Model effective field theory framework at all energy stages of CLIC using the updated baseline integrated luminosities. All signal and relevant background events are generated in MadGraph and passed through PYTHIA for parton showering and hadronization at parton level. Detector effects are considered via tuned CLIC detector cards in Delphes. Since we reconstruct the Higgs boson from a pair of b-jets, limits on CP-violating dimension-six couplings are obtained at three $b$-tagging working points: tight, medium and loose defined in the CLIC Delphes card for all three energy stages of CLIC. Our best 95 \% C.L. limits at the loose working point (90 \% b-tagging efficiency) on $\tilde c_{HW}$ and $\tilde c_{HB}$ are $[-7.0\times10^{-3};7.0\times10^{-3}]$ and $[-3.0\times10^{-2};3.0\times10^{-2}]$, respectively at the 3 TeV energy stage of CLIC with an integrated luminosity of 5.0 ab$^{-1}$. Considering a 0.3 \% systematic uncertainty from possible experimental sources worsens the limits on these couplings by a factor of two.

The realistic detector effects are also included with Delphes simulation. Sensitivity limits obtained at 95\% C.L. for $C_{\widetilde B W}/Λ^4$ and $C_{B B}/Λ^4$ couplings are $[-0.52;0.52] ([-0.40;0.40])$ TeV$^{-4}$, $[-0.43;0.43] ([-0.33;0.33])$ TeV$^{-4}$ in the dilepton+photon channel and $[-0.11;0.11] ([-0.084;0.084])$ TeV$^{-4}$, $[-0.092;0.092] ([-0.072;0.072])$ TeV$^{-4}$ in the MET+photon channel with $L_{int}$=1 (3) ab$^{-1}$, respectively.

From the 1940's to the present, space explorations, which is a highly important topic for the world and human beings, penetrate into many areas from the communication to the national security as well as from the discovery of exoplanets and new life forms to space mining. On the top of the countries which do researches on these fields are the developed countries and the developing countries are only used as launch areas, in an irrelevant manner of the research and development. However, developing countries can significantly reduce foreign dependency and security flaws as well as providing important reputation gain in international platforms by conducting space research and development activities as already done by developed countries. All the large scale space probes conducted by developed countries oblige Turkey to develop space researches in terms of economy, security and scientific aspects. Due to these reasons, the approximate costs of a launch base, which will be installed to conduct space researches in Turkey, and of a satellite or a spacecraft, which will be able to launch from this base and serve a variety of purposes, are calculated in this study. In an effort to make the mentioned calculations, examples of various countries that have already established a launch base and already launched from these bases are analyzed and some projections are built for Turkey by calculating the estimated costs. Since these projections must be carried out by the Republic of Turkey since the private sector in Turkey will not be willing to invest in such activities, the possible public advantages can be gained through these activities are also mentioned and evaluated.
