Overt and covert paths for sound in the auditory system of mammals. 2
Abstract: Current scientific consensus holds that sound is transmitted, solely mechanically, from the tympanum to the cochlea via ossicles. However this theory does not explain the hearing extreme quality regarding high frequencies in mammals. So, we propose a bioelectronic pathway (the covert path) that is complementary to the overt path. We demonstrate experimentally that the tympanum produces piezoelectr… ▽ More

Overt and covert paths for sound in the auditory system of mammals
Abstract: The consensus, according to which the transmission of sound from the tympanum to the Outer Hair Cells is solely mechanical, is problematic, especially with respect to high pitched sounds. We demonstrate that the collagenous fibers of the tympanum produce electric potentials synchronous to acoustic vibrations and that, contrary to expectations, their amplitude increases as the frequency of the vibr… ▽ More

A Filtration of (q,t)-Catalan numbers
Abstract: We define new generalizations of (q,t)-Catalan numbers applying nabla operator on k-Schur functions indexed by column partitions. In some special cases, we give a combinatorial interpretation of these numbers using configurations of Dyck paths. In some other special cases, we also interpret these new polynomial as Hilbert series of explicit sub-modules of the alternating diagonal harmonics built… ▽ More

Making research on symmetric functions using MuPAD-Combinat
Abstract: We present an overview of the implementation of symmetric functions in MuPAD-Combinat. We also explain how to interface C++ programs with MuPAD in order to make efficient research during concrete work sessions.

A non-commutative generalization of $k$-Schur functions
Abstract: We introduce non-commutative analogues of $k$-Schur functions of Lapointe-Lascoux and Morse. We give an explicit formulas for the expansions of non-commutive functions with one and two parameters in terms of these new functions. These results are similar to the conjectures existing in the commutative case.

A bijective proof of a factorization formula for Macdonald polynomials at roots of unity
Abstract: We give a combinatorial proof of the factorization formula of modified Macdonald polynomials when the parameter t is specialized at a primitive root of unity. Our proof is restricted to the special case of partitions with 2 columns. We mainly use the combinatorial interpretation of Haglund, Haiman and Loehr giving the expansion of the modified Macdonald polynomials on the monomial basis.

Ribbon tableaux, ribbon rigged configurations and Hall-Littlewood functions at roots of unity
Abstract: Hall-Littlewood functions indexed by rectangular partitions, specialized at primitive roots of unity, can be expressed as plethysms. We propose a combinatorial proof of this formula using A. Schilling's bijection between ribbon tableaux and ribbon rigged configurations.

A generating algorithm for ribbon tableaux and spin polynomials
Abstract: We describe a general algorithm for generating various families of ribbon tableaux and computing their spin polynomials. This algorithm is derived from a new matricial coding. An advantage of this new notation lies in the fact that it permits one to generate ribbon tableaux with skew shapes. This algorithm permits us to compute quickly big LLT polynomials in MuPAD-Combinat.

Factorization formulas for Macdonald polynomials
Abstract: The aim of this note is to give some factorization formulas for different versions of the Macdonald polynomials when the parameter t is specialized at roots of unity, generalizing those existing for Hall-Littlewood functions.

Non-Symmetric Hall-Littlewood Polynomials
Abstract: Using the action of the Yang-Baxter elements of the Hecke algebra on polynomials, we define two bases of polynomials in n variables. The Hall-Littlewood polynomials are a subfamily of one of them. For q=0, these bases specialize into the two families of classical Key polynomials (i.e. Demazure characters for type A). We give a scalar product for which the two bases are adjoint of each other.
