The ECFA Early-Career Researchers Panel: Report for the year 2023
Abstract: The European Committee for Future Accelerators (ECFA) Early-Career Researcher (ECR) panel, which represents the interests of the ECR community to ECFA, presents in this document its initiatives and activities in the year 2023. This report summarises the process of the first big turnover in the panel composition at the start of 2023 and reports on the activities of the active working groups - eithe… ▽ More

Scattering of dark pions in Sp(4) gauge theory
Abstract: Analyzes of astrophysical data provide first hints on the self-interactions of dark matter at low energies. Lattice calculations of dark matter theories can be used to investigate them, especially in the case of strongly-interacting dark matter. We consider Sp(4) gauge theory with two fundamental fermions as a candidate theory. We compute the scattering phase shift for the scattering of two identi… ▽ More

Scattering of dark pions in an Sp(4) gauge theory
Abstract: In this work we consider strongly interacting dark matter candidates as composite states of $N_f=2$ fermions charged under a dark $Sp(4)$ gauge group in the fundamental representation. We give expressions that allow the calculation of correlation functions of two pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone-bosons with lattice field theory and present first results on the scattering phase shift in the isospin-2 channel… ▽ More

The Second Love Number of Dark Compact Planets and Neutron Stars with Dark Matter
Abstract: We study the mass-radius relation and the second Love number of compact objects made of ordinary matter and non-selfannihilating fermionic dark matter for a wide range of dark matter particle masses, and for the cases of weakly and strongly interacting dark matter. We obtain stable configurations of compact objects with radii smaller than 10 km and masses similar to Earth- or Jupiter-like stellar… ▽ More

Constraining exotic compact stars composed of bosonic and fermionic dark matter with gravitational wave events
Abstract: We investigate neutron star-black hole (NS-BH) merger candidates as a test for compact exotic objects. Using the events GW190814, GW200105 and GW200115 measured by the LIGO-Virgo collabration, which represent a broad profile of the masses in the NS mass spectrum, we demonstrate the constraining power for the parameter spaces of compact stars consisting of dark matter for future measurements. We co… ▽ More

Dark Compact Planets
Abstract: We investigate compact objects formed by dark matter admixed with ordinary matter made of neutron star matter and white dwarf material. We consider non-self annihilating dark matter with an equation-of-state given by an interacting Fermi gas. We find new stable solutions, dark compact planets, with Earth-like masses or lower and radii about one meter for weakly interacting dark matter. For the str… ▽ More

Comments: The submission includes the original published version and the erratum (third author contributed to the erratum). The results of the erratum and the original publication are qualitatively similar, although the radii of the dark compact planets are smaller than original determined
