ImPORTance -- Machine Learning-Driven Analysis of Global Port Significance and Network Dynamics for Improved Operational Efficiency
Abstract: Seaports play a crucial role in the global economy, and researchers have sought to understand their significance through various studies. In this paper, we aim to explore the common characteristics shared by important ports by analyzing the network of connections formed by vessel movement among them. On the codimension of permanental varieties
Abstract: In this article, we study permanental varieties, i.e. varieties defined by the vanishing of permanents of fixed size of a generic matrix. Permanents and their varieties play an important, and sometimes poorly understood, role in combinatorics. Monomials as sum of k-th powers of forms
Abstract: Motivated by recent results on the Waring problem for polynomial rings and representation of monomial as sum of powers of linear forms, we consider the problem of presenting monomials of degree kd as sums of k-th powers of forms of degree d. We produce a general bound on the number of summands for any number of variables which we refine in the two variables case. We completely solve the k=3 case f… ▽ More

A fully-discrete Semi-Lagrangian scheme for a first order mean field game problem
Abstract: In this work we propose a fully-discrete Semi-Lagrangian scheme for a {\it first order mean field game system}. We prove that the resulting discretization admits at least one solution and, in the scalar case, we prove a convergence result for the scheme. Numerical simulations and examples are also discussed.
