On attractor behavior in braneworld constant-roll inflation
Abstract: We investigate in detail the attractor behavior of some inflationary models based on braneworld dynamics under the constant-roll condition. We describe the dynamics of the models, assuming that the second slow-roll parameter remains constant during inflation. We show that the dynamics of the considered models have the property of a cosmological attractor.

Constant-roll inflation with tachyon field in the holographic braneworld
Abstract: We study inflation driven by the tachyon field in the holographic braneworld by assuming the second slow-roll parameter $η$ is constant. The parameter $η$ can be either defined by the tachyon scalar field and the Hubble parameter or by the Hubble parameter only. By assuming a constant $η$, we derive and numerically solve a differential equation for the Hubble expansion rate. We calculate numerical… ▽ More

Thermodynamics of AdS planar black holes and holography
Abstract: A large AdS Schwarzschild black hole can be approximated by an AdS planar black hole. However, the temperature of a planar black hole is not well defined due to the translational invariance of the horizon. We propose to fix this arbitrariness by imposing the entropy area law. Furthermore, using the AdS/CFT holography, we propose a relationship between the temperatures of an AdS planar and large Ad… ▽ More

Black-Hole Accretion Disc as an Analogue Gravity Model
Abstract: We formulate and solve the equations governing the transonic behaviour of a general relativistic black-hole accretion disc with non-zero advection velocity. We demonstrate that a relativistic Rankine-Hugoniot shock may form leading to the formation of accretion powered outflow. We show that the critical points of transonic discs generally do not coincide with the corresponding sonic points. The… ▽ More

Acoustic horizons in axially symmetric relativistic accretion
Abstract: Transonic accretion onto astrophysical objects is a unique example of analogue black hole realized in nature. In the framework of acoustic geometry we study axially symmetric accretion and wind of a rotating astrophysical black hole or of a neutron star assuming isentropic flow of a fluid described by a polytropic equation of state. In particular we analyze the causal structure of multitransonic… ▽ More

Chaplygin-Kalb-Ramond Quartessence
Abstract: Unified dark matter/energy models (quartessence) based upon the Chaplygin gas D-brane fail owing to the suppression of structure formation by the adiabatic speed of sound. Including string theory effects, in particular the Kalb-Ramond field which becomes massive via the brane, we show how nonadiabatic perturbations allow successful structure formation.

Transient acceleration from a hybrid Chaplygin gas
Abstract: We extend the Chaplygin gas model for dark matter and dark energy unification by promoting the Chaplygin gas parameter A to the potential for an extra scalar with canonical kinetic energy. The hybrid model allows for accelerated Hubble expansion to be a transient effect around redshift zero.

Born-Infeld Phantom Gravastars
Abstract: We construct new gravitational vacuum star solutions with a Born-Infeld phantom replacing the de Sitter interior. The model allows for a wide range of masses and radii required by phenomenology, and can be motivated from low energy string theory.

Pseudo-Schwarzschild Spherical Accretion as a Classical Black Hole Analogue
Abstract: We demonstrate that a spherical accretion onto astrophysical black holes, under the influence of Newtonian or various post-Newtonian pseudo-Schwarzschild gravitational potentials, may constitute a concrete example of classical analogue gravity naturally found in the Universe. We analytically calculate the corresponding analogue Hawking temperature as a function of the minimum number of physical… ▽ More

Dark Matter at the Center and in the Halo of the Galaxy
Abstract: All presently known stellar-dynamical constraints on the size and mass of the supermassive compact dark object at the Galactic center are consistent with a ball of self-gravitating, nearly non-interacting, degenerate fermions with mass between 76 and 491 keV, for degeneracy factor g=2. Sterile neutrinos of 76 keV mass, which are mixed with at least one of the active neutrinos with a mixing angel… ▽ More

Inhomogeneous Chaplygin Gas Cosmology
Abstract: The hypothesis that dark matter and dark energy are unified through the Chaplygin gas is reexamined. Using a generalization of the spherical model which incorporates effects of the acoustic horizon we show that an initially perturbative Chaplygin gas evolves into a mixed system containing cold dark matter in the form of gravitational condensate. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the observed CMB… ▽ More
