The time machine was a machine created by Dr. Gwyn Davies in order to time travel. It allows the user to time travel, without the use of a timeship or a time courier.

The Legends and Gwyn Davies escape the rogue Waverider.
On November 7, 1925, Dr. Gwyn Davies executed a time travel experiment. His machine later laid the foundation for the concept of time travel and eventually led to the creation of the Time Bureau nearly a century later.[1] However, on the night of the experiment, the machine was damaged from an electrical overload.[2]
Current timeline[]
The Legends manage to time travel again with the time machine.
In the current timeline, the accident never happened since the Legends got involved with Gwyn. The time machine has been used by the Legends and Gwyn Davies to time travel through time to escape a rogue Waverider.[2] However, the machine malfunctioned and landed the team in Chernobyl, Ukraine on April 26, 1986.[3]
After the Legends and Gwyn arrived, Zari Tomaz, Behrad Tarazi, and Gwyn gathered parts and fixed the time machine. Later, the rogue Waverider appeared again and Gwyn activated the machine to escape. However, a man sitting on a toilet was descending down on a parachute right on top of the time machine, sending him along with the Legends and Gwyn.[3] The Legends managed to escape the Waverider that was hunting them, but they didn't know where they were because Gwyn's time machine broke when Bishop crashed into it on a toilet. After the ladies worked with the Rosies, they got the missing parts Gwyn needed to fix the time machine. Bishop decided to help the Legends, so he created a neural navigational system that Gideon could use to navigate the time machine.[4]
The Legends escaped with the machine to the pocket dimension to rest, but the navigation system Bishop made would be eaten by Gary Green.[5] Shortly after, the Legends used it to travel to 1914 to prevent the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and prevent World War I.[6] Gwyn used it to travel to 1916 and prevent Alun from dying, but failed, until the Legends helped him, though the fixer Mike would destroy the machine with the Waverider.[7]
Capabilities[]
- Time travel: The time machine has time traveled the Legends to 1986[3] and 1943. One of the problems the time machine had, was that it sent the Legends to random periods. Thanks to Bishop's neural navigational system, the Legends can now time travel to the exact period they want using Gideon's mind.[4]
- Interdimensional travel: Aside from its time-traveling capabilities, the time machine can transport people to alternate dimensions. It was able to take the Legends to John Constantine's pocket dimension in Hell.[5]
