Razorback MGolf Wraps Fall Schedule, Places 6th at Jackson T. Stephens Cup

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Arkansas men’s golf team closed the fall portion of the 2024-25 season at the fourth annual Jackson T. Stephens Cup, played this year at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club (par 70). The Razorbacks placed sixth with a score of 881.

Oklahoma State, ranked #14 nationally, won the stroke-play portion with a score of 846. The Cowboys will face #20 SMU (850) in the match-play championship on Wednesday. San Diego State (852) was third and will face top-ranked Oklahoma (855) for the third-place match. #26 Florida State (871) finished fifth with the Razorbacks finishing sixth.

Four Razorbacks shot 71 on the final day for a 4-over 284.

Freshman Gerardo Gomez led Arkansas by tying for 19th (71-78-71=217 / +7). Thomas Curry (76-73-71=220 / +10) turned in 16 pars with two bogeys and a birdie for his 71, moving up four spots to finish in a tie for 23rd. Mark Stockdale (77-76-71=224 / +14) birdied his final hole to shoot 71 and jumped up three spots to finish in a tie for 29th. Erich Fortlage (77-77-71=225 / +15) had 15 pars, a bogey, a double and two birdies to card his 71. He tied fellow freshman Pablo Garcia Terol (72-78-75=225 / +15) for 32nd.

Arkansas will pick up the 2024-25 schedule Feb. 9-11 when the Razorbacks will defend their title at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate in Puerto Rico.
