Give it a try
I'm probably the only 13 year old who's ever written an honest (and grammatically correct) review of a game, but here I go. I originally saw the trailer for this game as soon as it came out, and I got excited. It looked really interesting, and it seemed to flow really well. Then I forgot about it for months and months, until finally rediscovering it, only a week before it came out. And now I'm hooked. I've seen multiple bad reviews about the amount of packs given a day is too low, and I understand completely (I would love more packs).
But also, it's better than getting one pack a day.
Better than 0.5. (Wait, what?) I was worried that this game was a cash grab, but it's (luckily) not.
While yes, the game won't mind the extra cash, it's not necessary. If I had a bank account of my own (and if I were responsible with money) I wouldn't mind spending a buck or two here or there. And after using the free two weeks of premium pass, I would at least debate getting it, too. In the end, though, this game is great. And now, suddenly, l've accidentally gotten my entire friend group hooked on the game, so... that's a problem I gotta fix.
Anyways, no one will probably ever see this review, so I'm likely writing to no one right now, but if anyone does see this, give this game a chance. If it's not for you, well, that's what the delete button is for. It's not locked to your phone! (Boy, that would be a scary but likely future. Apple, don't get any ideas.) Hope you have fun!
Great take on pokemon
Love this game. I have been collecting and playing pokemon for a decade now and but I have stopped playing TCG online since the migration. This was because of power creep(newer cards are stronger in every way making older cards irrelevant), all my old digital cards Ex and down getting deleted for some reason, and the lack of variety in battle since the decks you receive at the start are competitive enough to where you don’t have to make a deck thus, causing you to battle the same decks over. What I like about this game and what makes it different from TCG live is it takes power creep out entirely and it has good strategic variety even though there are only three booster packs. Another great thing about this game is that it’s friendly to newcomers while still being appealing to an experienced audience. My friends from school that have never played a game of pokemon in their life are easily learning how to play with this game while I can experiment with many different strategies. If the pokemon card game in general followed the way this game is being represented(with normal battle rules), it could really revolutionize pokemon and open up more creativity. With that being said, I’m excited to see what this games’ future holds and how it will influence the community.
