Antagonist Overview

“ If I had to worry about my sisters every time I wanted to do something, I'd never do anything. „
~ Lincoln Loud.

Lincoln Albert Loud is the main protagonist of The Loud House franchise. He is the middle male child and sibling of The Loud Family. He was named after the street on which the show's creator Chris Savino's childhood home was located.

Despite being heroic, Lincoln can act antagonistic in some episodes, although this is mostly exclusive to the first season.

He is voiced by Sean Ryan Fox in the pilot, Grant Palmer in S1 E01A to E1-22, Collin Dean in S1 E23 to S3 E18A, Tex Hammond in S3 E18B to S4 E21B, Asher Bishop in S4 E23A to S6 E03A, Bentley Griffin in S6 E04 to S7 E15B and currently Sawyer Cole.

Biography[]

Lincoln is a good-hearted, well-meaning and accident-prone person, who is always looking for fun, and thinking about the well being of others. As the family nerd, along with Lisa, Lincoln is an avid fancier of comic books, manga, video games, fantasy and science fiction stories, which are typical interests for a boy his age. His favorite comic superheroes are Ace Savvy and One-Eyed Jack, whom he and Clyde often dress as when working to solve mysteries. His favorite music band is SMOOCH, as seen in "For Bros About to Rock" and "Yes Man".

He is known to be "the man with a plan", as he is usually elaborating plans with a specific objective, most of them for his own benefits. His plans rarely succeed because of his own selfish and reckless decisions or by his sisters' interference. When he goes too far, he will always find the solution even if that means making himself look like a fool, as seen in "Making the Case" and in "Sleuth or Consequences".

Lincoln's best friends and former classmates are Clyde, Liam, Rusty, Zach, Stella, and Ronnie Anne. Sometimes, he tries to hang out with other kids, but the rest of his social life has not really been explored and it's been revealed that when he tries to make new friends they're always being mean to him, as seen in "Save the Date" and "Hand-Me-Downer".

He's a very individual person with limited experience of teamwork in contrast to his sisters who cooperate as roommates, which was shown in "It's a Loud, Loud, Loud, Loud, House".

He missed out of fun with his sisters, as shown in "A Novel Idea", "Raw Deal", "No Such Luck", and "Kings of the Con", but almost with his friends in "Yes Man" due to his sisters set up the SMOOCH's VIB concert for him to experience in front of his house by convincing the real SMOOCH to show up and his friends to attend as an apology for taking advantage of his kindness.

Most of the time, Lincoln is clumsy and happy-go-lucky, but sometimes he is forgetful and gets upset when he is annoyed, or when something goes wrong. He has proved to be very patient (especially with his sisters) and also hates that others think he's bad luck. His greatest fear is the family falling apart, as shown in "Butterfly Effect", along with being hated by his sisters, as shown in "Making the Case" and "No Such Luck".

Something that Lincoln has shown is that he is a multi-faceted person and doesn't have a distinct personality. Thanks to a life of living with ten sisters, each with a different personality, he is adapted to them, so he can communicate with any of them, and help them with their activities without a problem. Living in a female dominated family caused him to develop typically feminine traits, like kindness, sensitivity, cooking, beauty pageant knowledge, and sewing skills.

He acts as the "Jack of All Trades" to all of his sisters. He is not as good as his sisters in what they do, but he is competent enough to impress and help them in what they are doing: such as helping Lucy write her poems, being one step ahead of Luan in her pranks, preventing Lisa's experiment from exploding by adding a chemical, assisting Leni with her fashion designing, and catching Lynn's football in "Project Loud House". He is also quite good at playing the cello, as he was the only one Luna complemented when she pressured the siblings into playing their instruments well in "House Music".

Like his sisters, he often watches the in-universe reality show The Dream Boat, though in the episode "Roughin' It", he pretends to dislike it when he feels he has lost his manliness from growing up with sisters. In the end he rejoins his sisters in watching The Dream Boat after he got his manliness back and learns not to worry about what's manly, girly, or any of that junk.

Lincoln feels overshadowed by his sisters, as shown in "Making the Case", "Kings of the Con" and "The Loud House Movie" because he was different and has nothing to show while his ten sisters are all beloved and being more successful than him because of some sort of achievement or accomplishment.

The episode "Study Muffin" showed that he's a responsible student, has good grades, and doesn't really need a tutor, unlike Lynn, Lucy, Lana, and Lola. This makes him the second smartest of the Loud siblings, after Lisa.

In the episode "No Such Luck", Lincoln finds himself with unexpected free time after his family thinks that he is bad luck and bans him from attending their activities, for which he is not unlucky because he's just a normal accident-prone.

Lincoln is incredibly calm, as in the episode "Not a Loud", he wasn't panicking about the possibility of being adopted. He was also calm when he was telling his parents about the clues that made him believe he's adopted. In spite of this, "The Loud House Movie" reveals that he is deeply insecure over feeling as though he is stuck in his sisters' shadow, but following his adventure in Loch Loud, comes to terms with his place in his family as the one who takes care of them, with his sisters reassuring him of their appreciation.

As of the fifth season, Lincoln now attends Royal Woods Middle School, where he is a student in Mr. Bolhofner's class (due to Principal Ramirez doesn't work out for him to assigned to Mrs. Salter's class with his friends because there's no room left). Starting in "Kernel of Truth", he and his friends now run the school's morning news show. He also now has special talents of his magic shows and the Action News, like his sisters and his best friend Clyde already had.

He didn't get Christmas at once in "Season's Cheatings" due to him sacrifice his Rip Hardcore backpack to Chandler for Lola's gift and his plans were ruined completely, but he gets a rolled up paper with a gift from Lily to make it up to him for not getting his new backpack for Christmas, revealing it to be a finger-painting she made of herself giving Lincoln his backpack.

As of The Casagrandes third season episode "Phantom Freakout", Lincoln becomes a fan of Twelve is Midnight. At the end, he and Clyde are filming the piano version of Twelve is Midnight's new song.

Personality[]

Lincoln is 11 (12 in Season 5) years old and the only boy in the Loud family. He is an avid fancier of comic books and manga, which he often enjoys reading in his underwear. He also enjoys video games, sci-fi movies, and coin collecting. Lincoln often speaks to the viewer (sometimes referring as Meta-Reference) about how he gets around his often-chaotic household and the antics of his ten sisters.

While Lincoln can occasionally be selfish and manipulative, he usually is quick to realize when he has done wrong and find ways to make up for it. He is, on the whole, a very nice boy who deeply loves his sisters in spite of their eccentricities and how often he clashes with them.

Often during the series, despite his relationship with his sisters, he particularly really love his three older sisters so much that they always truly loves him: Lori, Leni, and Luna. He is Leni and Luna's favorite brother and Lori really deeply loves him.

Appearance[]

Lincoln has fair skin, white hair with a flik on aside, with two little hairs sticking up on the other side., and has (3x3) red-brown freckles on both sides of the cheeks and a small chip on his front teeth, and he wears an orange short-sleeve shirt with blue jeans and white sneakers with three red stripes in the middle.

White hair[]

Lincoln's white hair is a very unique feature that Lincoln has. He's the only one in the family with this hair color, as his sisters are either a brunette or a blonde (with the exception of Lucy, whose hair is black).

Leni is quite fond of Lincoln's white hair. She says it reminds her of their Pop-Pop and gets defensive if anybody mocks Lincoln for it, as shown in "Chore and Peace" and "Ties That Bind".

It is uncertain as to why Lincoln's hair is white. Chris Savino has confirmed it's not a result of albinism. However, one popular theory as to why it's white is because of the effects of stress. This, however, is false, as in "The Whole Picture" and "The Loud House Movie" it's shown that not only Lincoln has had white hair since he was a baby, but that it's also highly possible that it's genetic. Given that The Duke, his ancestral lookalike, was called out for having white hair in a time lacking hair dye by Lincoln himself and never corrected on this.

Antagonistic acts[]

  • "Get the Message": Lincoln tries to take Lori's phone and erase this voicemail.
  • "Making the Case": He records all his sisters embarrassing moments.
  • "The Sweet Spot": Lincoln secretly a plan to get the best seat of the van with the chart under his mattress and convincing her sisters to sit next to him.
  • "A Tale of Two Tables": While his plan to get back to the kiddie table, Lincoln makes a complete fool of himself by imitating his younger sisters' unsavory and crazy table manners. When his parents have enough of his behavior and ask him if he wants to go back to the kiddie table.
  • "Sound of Silence": Lincoln uses sound-canceling earbuds to try and drown out his sisters.
  • "Picture Perfect": Lincoln tries to create the new perfect family photo which is actually a wrong picture, but in the end he ends up giving the old photo instead of the "perfect" one. They love it so much that they decide to hang it above the mantle for all to see. Lincoln apologizes and says to sisters that their true selves are perfect enough for him, and they embrace in a group hug. However, as a final rub-in, Lincoln tells them they might as well put their gifts in the coffee mug box, since their gifts will pale in comparison to his, which angers them into arguing with him... just the way he likes it.
  • "Undie Pressure": Lincoln reading his comic book in his underwear, calling it an annoying habit, but Lincoln is quick to point out that she and the other girls have annoying habits of their own. This gives Lola the idea to call a bet to see who can go the longest without their habits, and if Lincoln loses, he can't ever read in his underwear again, but if the girls lose, they have to buy Lincoln a new pair of underwear he wants to buy. This means that Lincoln can't read comics in his underwear, Lori can't talk to Bobby, Leni can't say "like", Luna can't speak in a British accent, Luan can't tell bad jokes, Lynn can't make everything into a sport, Lucy can't suddenly appear and spook everybody, Lana can't play in the mud, Lola can't look in her hand mirror, Lisa can't do her poop study (or any other "weird studies"), and Lily can't cry. Later on, Lola is enjoying herself with her mirror when she sees Lincoln, uncomfortable and miserable reading in his clothes, and she takes pity on him. The next day, Lincoln gets a package in the mail: his victory undies. Lola explains that she bought them for him, saying it's unfair for him to be unable to indulge in his annoying habits while she and the others can indulge in theirs. Lincoln is touched by her generous act, and he proceeds to enjoy his comic in his new undies along with his sisters doing their antics.
  • "The Green House": Lincoln steals couple stuffs to make the house full of green so the polar bear will be safe. Feeling terribly guilty, Lincoln realizes that he should have been going green for the sake of it rather than for his own selfish desires, and no longer cares about his social standing. He decides to fix everything by powering the house manually via a bicycle while his sisters resume their wasteful activities.
  • "Chore and Peace": Lincoln decides to go on strike until someone will swap chores with him, but the girls finally have enough of the mess and urge Lincoln to give up his strike, but he still refuses to do so... until he hears Lily crying. Finding that she's not in her crib, he concludes that she must be hidden somewhere in the gigantic mess. Feeling ashamed, Lincoln finally ends his strike so that he and his sisters can clean the house and find Lily. After the entire house is spotless again, Lily still can't be found, but it turns out that Lily was with Mom and Dad the whole time (since they knew better than to leave her surrounded by filth).
  • "Out on a Limo": As Lincoln goes around town, he encounters another limo containing Lord Tetherby, heir to the tetherball fortune, who believes that Lincoln is another heir and befriends him. Lincoln and Tetherby go around partaking in various activities with their limos. As Lincoln continues to have fun with Tetherby, his sisters angrily wait for three hours before Lincoln comes home. When they confront him, Lincoln rudely gives them the brush-off, saying that Tetherby has invited him to a party in his honor, where he will be welcomed into an exclusive club of limo owners. Feeling guilty about his past behavior, Lincoln apologizes to Kirby, who agrees to let Lincoln ride in the limo for another day. Lincoln also apologizes to his sisters for how he treated them, and invites them to go to the Burpin' Burger with him, which they accept. After going through the drive-thru and picking up the food, Lincoln runs into Tetherby again who invites him back to his exclusive club without his sisters now that he has the limo again, but Lincoln refuses the offer. He and his sisters spray him with mustard.
  • "Linc or Swim": Lincoln selfishly buy his pool to himself, at first he cursed aggressively, then he chased his sisters away from that pool, but later let them in.
  • "The Loudest Yard": He decided to let Lynn play sports for him to get out of exercising.
  • "Back in Black": He wrecked his and Rusty's school project covering it up that him fainting broke it and that they would have to fix it up at his house so Lucy and Rusty's little brother Rocky could talk.
  • "No Such Luck": Lincoln lies to his family about he is unlucky so he can get out of his sisters' activities.
  • "Cheater by the Dozen": Lincoln, Clyde and the rest of sisters think Bobby is cheating on Lori upon seeing him interact with various different women and decides to spy on him. But at the end, Lincoln, the sisters, and Clyde feel bad for thinking that Bobby was cheating on Lori, and assume that Lori will be (understandably) furious for nearly ruining her date with Bobby. However, instead of being angry, Lori appreciates them for trying to look out for her.
  • "Friendzy": Lincoln discovers that having a friend over means getting special privileges, and he takes advantage of his sisters.
  • "Predict Ability": Lincoln becomes a fear of be predictable and vows to change it up after discovering he has rituals. He decides not to be predictable anymore, thinking his predictable routine is making him boring and anyone can not hanging out with him at all. Lincoln change his routine every day, much to the concern of Clyde and the surprise of everyone else. At the end as Lincoln was predictable again, he learns that everyone has strict routines which having a daily routine does not make him boring.
  • "Stall Monitor": Lincoln worries that his teacher has bad things to say about him, so he tries to delay his parent-teacher conference, but it turns out she had no bad things about Lincoln, meaning that he overreacted over nothing and his actions got him a week of detention and also a week of being grounded from his parents when this could've been avoided if he hadn't jumped the gun.
  • "Kings of the Con": After his sisters overshadowing him and Clyde, they planned on staging a crime for them to save which is not very heroic for a superhero themed episode and commit an act of selfishness by catnapping the Kitty to get the role.
  • "Season's Cheatings": Wanting a Rip Hardcore backpack for Christmas, Lincoln tries to swap names from his sisters and get a Secret Santa that will give him the gift he wants until realizes that he forgot to get a gift for Lola. When Lincoln sacrifices his Rip Hardcore backpack to Chandler for Lola's gift, he was heartbroken because he eventually didn’t get Christmas and his plans were ruined completely. Lincoln then gets a rolled up paper with a gift from Lily to make it up to him for failing to get his Rip Hardcore backpack for Christmas, revealing it to be a finger-painting she made of herself giving Lincoln his backpack.
  • "Grub Snub": Lincoln tries to kick out Leni even though she did nothing wrong, but he later apologize to her for being rude to her.
  • "Road Trip: Bizarritorium": Lincoln sets his family's clocks forward so they could wake up earlier to get ready for a road trip.
