Help Please

You had asked me if I needed help. Thanks for all the help thus far. Now the page Pearce Robinson was put up for speedy deletion. I had a talk with the administrator and he said he will give me two days before he deletes. Could you help me address all the problems, since you've helped me already get the page to the good article criteria. I want to make sure that everyone is done to satisfy all needs. Capture2015 (talk) 19:23, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I am unable to help. The article itself is of good quality; the writing is fine. But the issue with your article is not that it is not written well, it is that the notability of the subject of the article, being Pearce Robinson, is not enough for him to merit an article on Wikipedia. Sorry to be blunt, but no matter how well the article is written, if there are no reliable, third party sources that go into the subject of the article in detail, then it cannot be included on Wikipedia. And so far, I have not been able to find any said sources. 069952497a (U-T-C-E) 19:10, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Have you checked through the some of the sources yourself. I would contest that they do. Capture2015 (talk) 19:23, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Am I allowed to add the television station interview with Pearce Robinson from one of the most viewed television stations in Trinidad, CNC3 Television. It is in parts and is yet another example of notability. I haven't added it as a citation yet, just asking if I can do that. It is from cnc3 http://www.cnc3.co.tt/news/cnc3-ems-2013-05-14-transforming-youth-pt1. The interview in totality is 30 mins. Capture2015 (talk) 20:22, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please see from 4:11 introduction to Discussion about Pearce Robinson, PNM Abroad and Scarlet41. The rest of the 30 minute interview can be seen at 1:30:00 onwards. This interview was done by CCN TV6 Express House and conducted by host Fazeer Mohammed. Berczy

Hey there. I saw you recently added that the mascot for Berczy is named "Wilber the Bear". I changed it back to just Berczy Bears, because I couldn't find a source to confirm this. So... I was wondering where you got the name from? Brambleclawx 23:48, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I guess this counts as original research, but I go to the school, and that's what they changed it to this year. 069952497a (talk) 13:27, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

They didn't have that name when I went there... is it "Wilber" or "Wilbur"? Brambleclawx 04:06, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Wilber, as in WILliam BERczy.069952497a (talk) 16:12, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request to undo page move

Hi,

I've left a message for you on the Talk page of the article you moved today to William Leveson (mercer). Best, NinaGreen (talk) 19:18, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding "Fat tree because it did not appear constructive"

I did that change because I think it is useful to know that the links near root are so-called "fat" links but they are actually multiple links. Perhaps instead of just fat word, "fat" (i.e. in quotes) may be useful? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Methosoldest (talkcontribs) 00:45, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If it really is a technical term, then I suppose that's my mistake. The usage of the term should be explained in the article and backed up with references. The quotes are a good idea as well. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 13:43, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This post is about Brezovica. — Preceding unsigned comment added by King911 (talkcontribs) 14:54, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your edit as vandalism because you removed information which was referenced. I believe the references do point to the existence of old ruins, which are clearly identified in the article as being part of Štrpce. As Brezovica is also part of Štrpce, I think the history section is still relevant to the article. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 23:19, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Where are you from and do you know these things — Preceding unsigned comment added by King911 (talkcontribs) 07:53, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am from Canada and have no personal knowledge of Brezovica. However, I and the potential readers of the article cannot assume that you have legitimate knowledge of the area. One of the keys of Wikipedia is that any information in its articles must be verifiable, not just true. I am prepared to accept that the references are legitimate and relevant to the article (since I do not speak Serbian/Russian).

I am also not very clear on what exactly your concern is; thus I have probably not addressed your actual issue in my reply. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 23:36, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My friend i am from Strpce and i know history of my place very well.

That may or may not be relevant depending on what your concern is. Is your concern that the information is incorrect, or that it is irrelevant to the article? 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 20:25, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My edit that you deleted.

My contribution was helpful. I stated that 'Annabeth Chase is nobody's sidekick'. People who are looking up sidekick information should have the whole truth. My statement was relevant because ANNABETH IS NOT A SIDEKICK. Even Rick Riordan stated so in a Percy Jackson book. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.85.237.244 (talk) 04:24, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article is about sidekicks, and your edit about someone not being a sidekick doesn't belong, especially not in the lead. There are millions of characters who aren't sidekicks. People who are looking up information will generally want to know who is a sidekick, instead of who isn't. Your information would be slightly more helpful on the Annabeth Chase page, but even there, it's probably not notable. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 11:17, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Myxo

I suggest that rather than reverse other editors removal of pure junk, that you take the effort to clean up the section. Editors acting in the way you have keep articles full of useless junk, assuming you are concerned with being constructive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.117.136.10 (talk) 16:48, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of WAMP (financial)

OK. You can delete it as far as I'm concerned. The only reason that I proposed starting this page is because

WAMP (financial)

in in the disambiguation page for WAMP and this article's contents for WAMP (financial) was in the page for WAMP which is about WAMP software which I wanted to link to a student and WAMP (financial) was in the wrong place, cluttering up the page on WAMP software.

Please roll back the corrections to Almeda University's page

The information is not true and as an Alumni I will file libel charges against Wikipedia of the previous content. You can either remove the page in its entirety, or restore the corrections I made to the page. My next out reach will be to Jimmy.

Thank you,

- Dr. B.D. Sanders — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.207.163.13 (talk) 14:39, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your main issue with the article seems to be whether or not Almeda is unaccredited. This claim is supported by multiple references, not only those in the article, but also those which I found outside. Furthermore, please do not use legal threats like "I will file libel charges against Wikipedia of the previous content" (see WP:LEGAL). Instead, resolve the conflict on the article's talk page, or through some other venue. I will complete my response later. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 14:59, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, 069952497a. I happened to notice your report at AN/I about the editor's legal threats. I just wanted to make you aware of this page from Almeda's own website about their accreditation status. I found the page by hovering on the "ABOUT ALMEDA" tab near the top left of the page, then clicking on "Accreditation". I'm not sure if you already saw this page. but there are a few interestsing pieces of information on there, such as:
  • Almeda "has earned membership and accreditation by several certifying organizations", including the "Committee for Distance Education Accreditation (CDEA)", "The Association for Online Academic Excellence (AOAEX)", and the "Interfaith Education Ministries (IEM)".
  • "Accreditation by any of these organizations does not guarantee acceptance of your degree. If you are unsure about whether your employer or perspective employer will accept your degree, we encourage you to contact them before proceeding any further with us."
  • "None of the accrediting agencies that recognize Almeda University are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the seven official regional accrediting agencies. This non-recognition may have some implications to include, but not limited to: 1. Almeda University is unable to participate in the Federal Student Loan/Financial Aid program. 2. Almeda University is not authorized to accept the GI Bill. 3. Almeda University is unable to guarantee acceptance of its degree programs in other postsecondary institutions. 4. Public sector employers will not recognize a degree accredited by a private accreditor. 5. Private sector employers have no obligation to accept degrees from Almeda University."
Obviously, the editor's purpose was to completely whitewash the article by removing all negative content about the organization, and all 27 of its sources. He was also attempting to imply that the organization is fully accredited by traditional, recognized agencies, because what he failed to include in the article was any specific content about their accreditation status even though, as we now know, it is already revealed on the organization's own website. One would of course have to assume that Dr. B.D. Sanders/71.207.163.13, the IP in Huntstville, Alabama, (according to WP's geolocate link on his page), is a graduate of Almeda. --76.189.109.155 (talk) 11:17, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Melanin theory

hi, My name is Queen and I am a dermatologist. I am very sicken by your extremely racist Melanin theory page.. I have tried to make correction to the lies you are trying to teach our community and my patients, but you keep undoing them. I would appreciate it if you would take out the word black supremacists because we both know that black supremacy does not exist.. This article deeply expresses your own hatred for all people of color. You having the experience in writing should be able to express yourself with out hurting others. but then again your personal oppinions in this article is a prime example of what you claim is true about white people, and their hatred for this world and the living beings in it. Take your personal feelings out of this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GoddessQueen1 (talkcontribs) 20:14, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly are you trying to say? Which part is racist? How does this hurt others? Where is this hatred of white people present in the article? 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 00:09, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Pay no attention to this psychotic, 069952497a. This is a prime example of a black racist whose only intent is to deny her own racism by trading on the iniquities of the past and spreading the falsehood that racism has only one origin: whites. It is patently established that black supremacy exists. "GoddessQueen1" is a prime example of such black supremacy, particularly qualified by her hatred of whites and everything associated with whites. Notice specifically her words "white people, and their hatred for this world and the living beings in it." These are the ramblings of a racist psychotic who should sooner receive mass therapy than edit any article on Wikipedia. The very statement itself is sickeningly and blatantly racist, though because of her psychosis and belief that racism can only originate from whites, she has deluded herself into believing her proclamations wholly innocent, rationalizing them through the mere fact that she is (supposedly) a nonwhite speaking against whites. Melanin theory is a vile, perverted, and racist travesty of a coherent expression, designed by black supremacists who, in their realization that their race has, to a large degree, been brutalized in this world not only by whites of years gone but also by members of their own race (e.g., the selling of slaves to Europeans for export to the New World), have attempted to introduce a false pedigree of themselves to counteract their psychotic insecurity about who they are and what abilities they possess. Enter the likes of Afrocentrism and Melanin Theory. That is all. GeraldSmosk (talk) 08:17, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: SOTI Inc. Company Page

Hi 069952497a,

Thanks for your review of the SOTI Inc. page I've created.

I have tried to keep the content very factual and non-promotional- could you let me know what you saw as advertorial? I will revise it immediately.

I have tried following the same format as similar companies on the site: MobileIron and AirWatch.

I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you! Msalmassian (talk) 20:48, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the notice. None of what I saw as promotional was very obvious or blatant, but I can identify several examples which can be construed as being promotional, like:
  • "...develops Mobile Device Management solutions helping organizations..."
  • "...is used to manage, support, secure and track mobile workforces..."
  • "...MobiControl v10 moves beyond traditional Mobile Device Management policies..."
  • "...Telecom Expense Management, a Secure Content Library and more..."
All four examples sort of sound like what an advertisement would say about a company. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 20:53, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the specific comments 069952497a, I've edited it to sound more neutral. I hope this helps the page.

GA Review

This review is transcluded from Talk:2010 Guatemala City sinkhole/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Reviewer: Adam Cuerden (talk · contribs) 19:01, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This looks pretty strong already, though there are two issues:

1. It needs a copyedit, particularly the non-definition "The 2010 Guatemala City sinkhole is a sinkhole in Guatemala City". Also, if the sinkhole has been filled in, use the past tense, "was" not "is".

2. It could use an overhead view of some sort, even if it's just the approximate dimensions of the sinkhole drawn onto an overhead view taken before or after.

Fix those, and it should be ready for GA. Adam Cuerden (talk) 19:01, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the review! I have removed the non-definition. I also found the sinkhole on google maps and it is indeed filled in. As a result I have changed the verb tense. 069952497a (U-T-C-E) 19:28, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have also found an image which depicts the sinkhole from above. It is included in the article now. 069952497a (U-T-C-E) 20:01, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Right. The lead is still a little weak - I copyedited a little - but for an event that is, in the end, a one off, this is a good, comprehensive article.
It's a fairly short article, but the subject is, in the end, a single, one-off event, which limits the scope. It may be worth throwing an after-it-was-filled-in-image as well, but on the whole,  Pass. Adam Cuerden (talk) 20:48, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the review! 069952497a (U-T-C-E) 20:54, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PROPOSED DELETION NEW CONNEXIONS FREE CHURCH

I'm confused, I posted only facts, we own the logo and the links are either internal wikipedia or to sites which are part of our denomination?

Antiochean (talk) 13:00, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that the information in your article is true. However, here on Wikipedia, the criteria for inclusion as an article are not limited to whether the article is legitimate. Rather, the subject of the article must be notable. What this means is that the subject of the article must have "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" (quoted from WP:GNG, the General Notability Guideline). In other words, neither internal Wikipedia links nor sites of your denomination count. Internal links are not secondary sources, and thus do not meet the criterion of reliable sources. Sites of your denomination are not independent of the subject, so they also fail GNG. Unfortunately, my conclusion is that the subject of your article is not notable enough to merit inclusion on Wikipedia. 069952497a (U-T-C-E) 18:26, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
