Dmitry Ivanovich Maevsky (Russian: Дми́трий Ива́нович Мае́вский; May 17, 1917,Petrograd, Russian Empire - 1992, Saint Petersburg, Russia) was a Soviet Russian painter living and working in Leningrad, member of the Leningrad branch of Union of Artists of Russian Federation[1], regarded as one of the inmates and representatives of the Leningrad school of painting[2], most famous for his landscape painting from the life.

Biography

Dmitry Ivanovich Maevsky was born May 17, 1917 in Petrograd (former Saint Petersburg), Russian Empire.

In 1937 - 1939 Dmitry Maevsky studied in Leningrad in Art Studio head by Isaak Brodsky. Since 1939 he has participated in Art Exhibitions.

In 1946 - 1953 years, Dmitry Maevsky continued his studies in the art studios of known Leningrad artists Piotr Buchkin and Alexander Kharshak.

Dmitry Maevsky the member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1955. He painted landscapes, portraits, genre pictures, sketchs from the life.

Dmitry Ivanovich Maevsky died in Saint Petersburg in 1992. His paintings are in Art museums and private collections in Russia, USA, Japan, France, USA, England, and throughout the world.
