Vast (also styled Vast Space) is a privately-held American aerospace company based in Long Beach, California. It was founded in 2021 by entrepreneur Jed McCaleb, who is its CEO and sole funder. Vast's announced mission is to develop artificial gravity space stations.[1][2][3][4]

In January 2023, Vast announced that it would relocate its corporate headquarters from El Segundo, California to a newly-built facility in Long Beach. The new facility, located in the city's Globemaster Corridor Specific Plan, will also house the company's manufacturing operations.[4]

In February 2023, Vast announced its acquisition of the assets, products, and employees of Hawthorne, California-based space startup Launcher, with Launcher founder Max Haot set to become president of Vast. The former Launcher operations plan to join Vast in the new Long Beach facilities in the summer of 2023.[2][3]
