Revision as of 16:47, 30 May 2020

Notice If you're here about an article that I declined/rejected please read these quick rules first...or you might be ignored.

1) Post new sections at the bottom of the page. You can do this by clicking the "New Section" tab near the top of the page.

2) PLEASE LINK TO YOUR ARTICLE, I go through a myriad of pages a day, I won't know what you're talking about unless you link your article.

3) Please do not just ask "why did you decline my article?". The answer is given in the decline message on the draft. If you need clarification beyond that, or have questions about the linked policies then please ask away.

4) Please don't request me to re-review your article unless I've specifically asked you to do so. If you feel it's fixed then resubmit. AfC is incredibly backlogged and someone will get to it when they can. This can take 6 weeks or more.

I welcome anyone to comment or reply to others on my page, but please be kind and if their post breaks one of the above four rules, please ignore them as well.

AIC draft

Hi Sulfurboy. I've read your comments on my talk page and I believe I've actioned your request properly. Could you possibly confirm? Swright-aic (talk) 15:43, 15 May March 2020 (AEST)

Dear SulfurBoy,

Thank you so much for promptly reviewing my Afc: Lilian Ajayi-Ore; and most importantly, for your professional feedback why the afc was declined due to 'peacock' terms. I have reworked the article and re-posted it for another review. Keep up the good job! Best Regards, Ozonyiawiki (talk) 10:24, 27 May 2020 (UTC) Ozonyiawiki[reply]

Clarification on Article decline

Hello, You declined my article due to sources. My sources are reliable and accurate. My town is a small town and there would not be many articles written about Averett Woods in National newspapers or articles on Jstor. What would make these sources more reliable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaryDowningKate (talkcontribs) 03:10, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MaryDowningKate, Your sources do not demonstrate notability. Neighborhoods such as this are rarely notable. We would need to see significant coverage of the neighborhood in multiple reliable and secondary sources. Sulfurboy (talk) 03:23, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have provided a bogus excuse not to publish my page by saying that it includes copyrighted material which is simply not true. You need to educate yourself about the copyright laws first and only after that you might be able to make any decisions here on Wikipedia. The books referenced are dated as 1808 and 1836. Their copyright has ended in 1908 and 1936. This is point number one. Secondly, I never tried to even include the copyrighted material. The proper citation is used according to the rules of the English language. All references are clearly mentioned. I can easily add at least 10 more sources but Sir William Jones and his Asiatic Researches through The Asiatic Society are more than enough. The Cat 2020 (talk) 13:59, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Straight Talk Wireless Draft Rejection

Hi Sulfurboy,

Apologies to be having this conversation again, but I submitted an article for review, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Straight_Talk_Wireless, and it was rejected again for reading like an advertisement. If you're willing to discuss, I'd love to know how we can improve the page. I'm sure you noticed that I made significant updates to the page in an effort make it more neutral and less of an incentive to readers, removing details on how to purchase and activate service, removing price details and removing claims that TracFone is the largest prepaid service provider. I also added sources to corroborate the information included. As you know, I've been asked to create this page as part of my job, so I just want to see that page go live however possible. I don't expect this page to sneak by reading like an advertisement, and our client understands that as well. I genuinely thought the page adhered to guidelines much better than previous attempts. So, I'd appreciate any guidance on how to improve the page.

Take care, Frank FrankWS875 (talk) 14:20, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

FrankWS875, You didn't remove details about how to purchase the service. It's literally mentioned in the second sentence of the article. The article has been CSD'd twice now and rejected which means it will not be considered further at this time. As already advised in the stern warning on your talk page, continuing to attempt to use Wikipedia for advertising will likely lead to you being outright banned from the site. Please stop. I would advise reporting back to your employer that you all need to do a better job of understanding our policies first before attempting to participate in black hat SEO/paid editing. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:05, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sulfurboy, I understand, and I appreciate the time you took to review the page again. Hopefully, I can reestablish good faith. 16:05, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An illustration of the character's popularity and Reliability of sources

hello Sulfurboy, nice to talk with you about development of Wikipedia.I add two new reliable sources one of them is the official film trailer from the official channel of Dubai international film festival. The article is about a well-known Arab director and writer, which is why most of the sources are in Arabic, and they are reliable sources from newspapers that have a reputation and spread in the Arab world. And because he is a writer, director, and not an actor, it is natural and logical in the Arab world to mention his name in articles without much information. for example match movie is present on Netflix and Apple iTunes and the newspapers and Alarabiya channel and official channel of Dubai international film festival proves that Rayan Alabbas is the writer of the the movie, also he has a page on IMDb. so I hope that you review the draft again and accept the article as it fulfills the terms of Wikipedia. thank you very much. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Rayan_Alabbas --Kareem ahmed sallam (talk) 13:55, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kareem ahmed sallam, Anyone can have an IMDB page, there's nothing special or notable about that. Its also a wholly unreliable source that shouldn't be used in an article. A film trailer is not a source that would demonstrate notability, nor are articles where the subject is only briefly mentioned. I would recommend reading the policies that I linked in the decline message. Sulfurboy (talk) 17:50, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

thank you very much, I learn from you.--Kareem ahmed sallam (talk) 19:47, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Official Declaration

I have a question maybe you can answer: How is it that a category may not qualify for an article, when all the things within that category do? Thmazing (talk) 03:51, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thmazing, I don't think I've ever created a category and typically leave adding categories to people on that task force. As such, I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I would maybe ask this over at the WP:TEAHOUSE Sulfurboy (talk) 04:01, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I assumed you knew more since you turned the category into a draft article. Draft:Official Declaration Thmazing (talk) 22:12, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thmazing, You submitted it as a draft article to AfC. Even if you hadn't, what you wrote is not a "category", it's a stub article. Sulfurboy (talk) 22:24, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Moves

As per here, the user has expressed a specific wish to have this in userspace rather than draftspace. Please leave it there until/unless it's ready for mainspace. DS (talk) 03:59, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DragonflySixtyseven, I don't see where they requested that, you linked to the page's history, but I'll take your word for it. However, I completely disagree with what you've done here and would ask you to reconsider for a few reasons:
1)If they were to have the userspace version rejected/CSDed/deleted, they could just resubmit it in draftspace or a differently named sandbox and it would take an undue amount of digging to see previous declines/rejections.
2) There's WP:OWN issues involved with insisting it stay in user space, particularly since it has now had community involvement with the AfC process.
3)If someone else wanted to create the article/draft, they would not get the usual notice that there is an existing draft for the article.
4)Higher potential for lost history issues if there were to be any sort of copy paste moves from that userspace to draft/mainspace Sulfurboy (talk) 04:22, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sulfurboy,

I've added references to my article in English on Andreas Brugger - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Andreas_Brugger. It contains more or less the same content as the article in German. I would like to see it published in the interest of the academic community and general public, and in the course of time I will add more substance. Also it needs a link to the interlanguage column on the left - which I haven't been able to carry out.

Thanks.

Hello Sulfurboy,

Excuse me, but as I see it there are sufficient background sources to justify both articles. I’ve seen a lot less in other articles or so-called “stubs”. Please publish or guide me to a second opinion administrator.

How to submit a draft for review?

Hello User:Sulfurboy, I have followed your instructions and moved my next article which I want to submit for review to a draft file: Draft:New York at Night (Willie Nile Album). Now, how do I request a review of the draft? Thank you for your help BuffaloBob (talk) 01:36, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sulfurboy, I have a question regarding my recent submission which you declined: Draft:revel Partners

Thank you for your quick review. I am new to Wikipedia and appreciate your guidance.

Your feedback says that the draft gives the impression I have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting this topic. However, I have no connection to the subject and I am in no way compensated for this or any other edits. I would like to continue working on this draft and plan to add more sources for a more objective and encyclopedic tone. Can I go on editing the draft or are there any more steps I need to take to assure you there is no conflict of interest? Thanks! BetaCookie (talk) 13:25, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

BetaCookie, Is there a reason then that your username shares the same name as a company that provides tools for SEO and marketing? Sulfurboy (talk) 13:32, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sulfurboy, honestly, no reason at all... believe it or not, I just found out about this company upon your question. I actually created this account in October 2019 and used it to contribute to the German Wikipedia. The company with the same name seems not to even have been around that long. I realize this looks bad. But again, all I can do is assure you I am not affiliated with this company! BetaCookie (talk) 13:50, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've rejected it this time. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:11, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Animal Products in Pharmaceuticals, Updated page

Dear Sulfurboy,

In regards to the animal products in pharmaceuticals page, [2] I have made all of the changes you suggested and want to move forward with the article. Specifically, I added insulin and premarin to the active ingredients section, added a definition of pharmaceuticals to the first paragraph, added three citations about the relationship between animal products in pharmaceuticals to various religious, ethical, and cultural, groups, and made other edits inline with your suggestions. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to get this article approved. This is a notable topic that is part of public and scientific discourse and should be part of Wikipedia as well. I am interested in hearing your thoughts on next steps to move this article forward.

Regards,

Skubydoo (talk) 01:01, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Skubydoo, I've approved the article. There's a small chance of blowback, but I think you've done enough to keep it neutral and scientifically backed. Cheers. Sulfurboy (talk) 02:27, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sulfurboy, Thanks for your edits and feedback to "Michael Sempert."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Michael_Sempert

I had meant to completely remove the discogs, wiki and imdb on the last pass, but somehow my changes didn't stick. My apologies for that. At this point all the citations are either magazines (including music blogs), newspapers or online tracking databases (Tunefind, Whatsong, Songkick) which I believe would fall under "e-commerce." Thanks in advance for your help with the page.

Don't forget to move articles with unnecessary disambiguators

Hey, I came across Al-Najm al-Thaqib (missile) and saw that you had reviewed it. Since we don't have any other articles by this title, you should have moved it to Al-Najm al-Thaqib as part of your review. I've gone ahead and done it so there's no need for further action on your part. signed, Rosguill talk 18:47, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice

Hi Sulfurboy, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

Draft Article: Talitha Espiritu

Hi sulfurboy, I just created a draft page for talitha espiritu. Her name appears on many articles discussing Ferdinand Marcos's martial law in the Philippines. Rejected Draft:British Nuclear Medicine Society: Reason WP:SIGCOV

Hello, Three pints

1. I think this button on your talk page "Click here to start a new topic" is having some technical issue. I tried to post a message couple of times; however, it only got published once in the middle of the post. I think it got deleted by yourself as it did not follow the rules listed on this page.

2. Thanks for rejecting the Draft:British Nuclear Medicine Society  Courtesy link: Draft:British Nuclear Medicine Society. I have updated the page and would be thankful if you can have a casual look and suggest if it addresses the WP:SIGCOV issue, or if needs more work?

3. This article on EANM has only 10 references and is successfully published on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Association_of_Nuclear_Medicine. My article on BNMS is very similar, with over 40 references.
