The description says "Some say the stoning of Stephen shook Saul's faith in the temple and the denial of Christ." The Bible itself in Acts 8:1 says "Saul wholeheartedly approved of Stephen's death. And on that day a great and relentless persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem; and the believers were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles." The stoning of Stephen didn't signal the end of the persecution of Christians by Saul, as the description says, instead it started it in earnest.
