Idles have announced their fifth studio album, Tangk. The LP is out February 16th via Partisan Records, and as a preview, they’ve shared “Dancer,” the lead single that features LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Nancy Whang on background vocals. Check it out below.
Idles drew from a wide swath of influences in making Tangk. The record was produced by the band’s guitarist Mark Bowen, as well as Radiohead’s go-to boardsman Nigel Godrich and Denzel Curry/Vince Staples collaborator Kenny Beats. A press release describes the project as more love-oriented than the post-punks’ previous efforts, which often dealt in political commentary.
“Tangk,” singer Joe Talbot said in a statement. “I needed love. So I made it. I gave love out to the world and it feels like magic. This is our album of gratitude and power. All love songs. All is love.”

This Rick And Morty review contains spoilers.
Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 2
In the season premiere, we were told Rick’s portal gun was still nonfunctional and learned that Rick Prime is out there and is probably going to try to kill Rick, Morty, and, I don’t know, everybody else? The guy just seems to like killing. Recent comments from the show’s creators suggest that we can expect to see this plotline continued this season, but you can’t lore all the time, so the second episode of season six returns to more familiar territory with a quintessential Rick and Morty one-off sci-fi adventure.
“Rick: A Mort Well Lived” is quintessential in that it does that standard Rick and Morty thing of taking a sci-fi concept and then devoting an entire episode to expanding upon it—pulling it apart, exploring the inner-workings of it, and, ideally, imbuing it...

This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Rick and Morty" season 6.
The latest episode of "Rick and Morty" is filled with callbacks to season 2. The most obvious one, of course, is the VR videogame "Roy," which Morty was introduced to in the 2015 episode "Mortynight Run."
"Roy" is such a memorable callback because of the way the show introduced it to us: Without much explanation, Rick throws a helmet onto Morty, and then we cut to a little kid named Roy waking up at night from a bad dream. He vaguely remembers an "old man" in the dream, but quickly forgets about it and moves on with his life. We see the kid grow up, fall in love, get married, have kids, get cancer, survive cancer, and live what feels like a very full 55 years before dying in an accident at the carpet store where he works.
That's when the game ends,...

An unexpected connection
An estimated 1.4 million elderly people live alone in the UK, with very little by way of social connection, yet we rarely hear their stories. One of the short films longlisted for this year’s BAFTAs is Roy, the story of a man in that position who is so lonely that he has got into the habit of dialling random telephone numbers in the hopes of finding somebody with whom he can have a conversation. When, one day, he dials an adult hotline by mistake, he’s embarrassed and apologetic, but what could have left him feeling even lower instead marks the beginning of an unlikely friendship which turns his life around.
Sharp witted and keenly observational, the film is brought to life by actors David Bradley and Rachel Shenton. It was written and directed by Tom Berkeley and Ross White, a creative team still at an early stage in their careers.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains major spoilers for the Season 3 finale of “Succession” (“All the Bells Say”).
The moment Logan Roy (Brian Cox) realizes his children are attempting to overthrow him, he sizes them up and snarls with disdain. “You bust in here, guns in hand,” he says, “and now you find they’ve turned to sausages.” It’s a devastating blow made more devastating by the fact that Logan has, once again, somehow found his own gun where there should have been a black hole. But the line also recalls an earlier, equally brutal “Succession” scene that proves especially crucial in “All the Bells Say,” which sees the Roy kids bested by the two men they never thought had it in them.
In Season 2’s “Hunting,” written by creator Jesse Armstrong and Tony Roche, and directed by Andrij Parekh, an especially paranoid Logan goes on a tear during a work retreat.

Long before the finer details of their lives unraveled before us, we learned to read into their snarky comments and fractured relationships. When it released Wonder Woman 1984 to its HBO Max servers in December, WarnerMedia made it abundantly clear that it was ready for a new era of movie distribution. Now, in its list of new releases for February 2021, Warner is attempting another grand experiment for HBO Max.
Judas and the Black Messiah premieres on HBO Max this Feb. 12 and is by every indication the kind of film that awards shows go gaga over. Both Daniel Kaluuya and and Lakeith Stanfield look to be at the top of their respective games in this story about Black Panther Party chairman Fred Hampton and the FBI that wants to take him down. Will this have the same rhetorical oomph on the small screen? Guess we’ll find out!

It’s August 2020 and that can only mean one thing: HBO Max is about to enter Lovecraft Country.
Over the years HBO (and by the transitive property its new HBO Max streaming offshoot) has grown accustomed to debuting a buzzworthy new TV show or limited series every couple of months. For August 2020 that will almost certainly be Southern Gothic horror series Lovecraft Country. The J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele-produced thriller arrives on August 14 on HBO and HBO Max.
Other strong HBO Max originals arriving in August include the documentary Class Action Park (release date Tbd), Seth Rogen-starring comedy An American Pickle (Aug. 6), and finales for I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, Doom Patrol, and Perry Mason.
Of course, HBO Max is designed to house much of WarnerMedia’s content across many mediums. That means some recent movies on note like Jojo Rabbit (Aug. 1), Richard Jewell (Aug. 8), and Birds of Prey (Aug.

The amoral legacy of closeted gay political operator Roy Cohn has come back to life in two films of the moment: Matt Tyrnauer’s “Where’s My Roy Cohn?” and now this more personal documentary directed by Ivy Meeropol, granddaughter of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were prosecuted by Cohn and executed for treason in 1953.
Meeropol previously covered the story of her grandparents in her 2004 documentary “Heir to an Execution,” and she sketches out the basics of the case against them at the beginning of her film on Cohn, starting off with footage of herself as a girl talking to her father about what happened to Julius and Ethel. She then cuts to footage of Cohn, who always signals, “I am evil” for the camera, as if he were very conscious of the part he was trying to play.

It all began in 2009, when Iranian Mandana Karimi as an international popular model, came to Mumbai for a modeling contract and did many different modeling projects. Though acting was never her thought, she quickly caught the acting bug and in 2012 she moved to Mumbai to try to make it on the silver screen. Her first movie was Bhaag Johnny. She also made a special appearance in Roy as well as Main Aur Charles. In 2016, the actress starred as Shalu in Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3. Not only that Karimi also competed on Big Boss 9 and made it all the way to the finale. Now the actress is taking on a very cool and as she says grey pivotal character in Zee5 original web series The Casino.

Updated with video of speech: Succession creator Jesse Armstrong lauded the dark HBO family drama as a “team show” after winning its first Golden Globe.
The Roy family saga beat out HBO’s Big Little Lies, Netflix’s The Crown, BBC America’s Killing Eve and Apple TV+’s The Morning Show for Best Television Series – Drama after the first season was largely snubbed from the awards conversation.
Armstrong was slightly more muted than when he picked up the Emmy for outstanding writing for a drama series. He thanked a number of HBO execs including former HBO CEO Richard Plepler, programming chief Casey Bloys and drama boss Francesca Orsi. “For everyone else who worked on the show, it’s a team show,” said Armstrong. “If you’ve ever appeared on the call sheet or the titles, congratulations, you’ve won a Golden Globe.”

The song "Zindagi" is sung by Ankit Tiwari, who has in the past delivered hit numbers in "Aashiqui 2", "Ek Villain" and "Roy".
Preanaam marks the return of actor Rajeev Khandelwal to the big screen, and is directed by Sanjeev Jaiswal and produced by Rajnish Ram Puri.
"We wanted to create a film that includes romance and action. The film's songs like 'Sirf tu' and 'Zindagi' reveal romance in the script. Along with the action, these songs will keep viewers hooked to the story," Puri promised.
A highlight of the film is the chemistry between Rajeev Khandelwal and Sameksha Singh. Ankit Tiwari's music works at underlining that chemistry. Rajeev plays the son of a peon who dreams of becoming an Ias officer but ends up becoming a gangster.
Local artists Udayvir Singh, Ganesh Pandit, Saif and Yogesh will be seen...

If Ranveer Singh's career benefited from all the mistakes that Ranbir Kapoor made then it seems Jacqueline Fernandez is a product of Katrina Kaif's mistakes. While Katrina was busy trying to build a life with Ranbir Kapoor, the other expatriate enchantress inched her way into the space created by Katrina.
A prominent producer who knows both the actresses well analyses, "Both the girls are very hard working, very professional, completely focused and ruthlessly ambitious. They also have a similar personality profile, you know firangi, non-Hindi speaking. So the roles that would have by right gone to Katrina, especially with Salman, went to Jacqueline."
Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick which was a turning point in Jacqueline's career was first offered to Katrina.
"But by then she was involved with Ranbir Kapoor. Salman and Katrina had mutually decided not to work together. Then Katrina also decided she won't work with Ranbir in Roy.

It looks like 2016 is going to be another super-busy year for the Big B, Amitabh Bachchan. And a Bangla-dominated year at that. Even as he gears up for the release of Bejoy Nambiar's Wazir, his first release for 2016 news comes from Kolkata where the Big B is currently shooting with Vidya Balan for Sujoy Ghosh's film.
We now have information straight from Kolkata that the Big B has also said yes to Bangla director Aniruddha Roy Choudhuri's new film. Aniruddha has made the award-winning Bangla films Anuranan and Antaheen.
He now steps into Hindi cinema with a film that Shoojit Sircar will produce. Confirming these developments Shoojit who directed the Big B in the hugely lauded Piku earlier this year says, "Yes, I am producing film that will star Bachchan Saab. Aniruddha Roy Choudhuri will direct. It will be in Hindi."
Shoojit shoots down rumours of approaching Ranbir Kapoor for his next.

Tamasha has done well over the weekend. The film took a good start on Friday (10.87 crore), showed growth on Saturday (13.17 crore) and then consolidated well on Sunday (14.12 crore), hence seeing a weekend of 38.23 crore. This has been a positive trend for the Imtiaz Ali directed film which was catering to a niche audience and was unlike any of the quintessential romcoms that hit the screens with every passing month. With a conventional narrative to boast of, the film has found good following from the target audiences, who have lapped up what was on display.
The film has now seen the best opening for a Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer as their biggest weekend so far in 2015 was Roy (28.68 crore) and Piku (25.22 crore). Moreover, for Imtiaz Ali too, this is his biggest opening weekend ever, hence surpassing Love Aaj Kal (28 crore) and Rockstar (35 crore). What is all the more noticeable...

While his personal life is blossoming with love (as he is reportedly in relationship with Katrina Kaif), it seems our Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor's career is going through a rough patch! After three back-to-back duds like Besharam, Roy and Bombay Velvet, looks like Ranbir's other projects are also getting jinxed. Well, we are talking about his upcoming film Jagga Jasoos, which is being helmed by Barfi maker Anurag Basu.
Much like Bombay Velvet, Ranbir's Jagga Jasoos also has been constantly delayed. Even the latest buzz in trade suggests that Jagga Jasoos has been pushed to next year (June) for release, as major portions of the film are being reshot. Like Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos has been in news for various controversies. Right from Ranbir getting upset with the film shaping up to differences with his directors. Besides, a couple of days back reports were rife that Govinda has backed...

Bollywood's self-appointed resident wag Arjun Kapoor let out a few stinging salvos at Ranbir Kapoor for his recent flops namely Roy and Bombay Velvet at the recently-concluded Iifa in Kuala Lampur. Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor took the satirical slight in his stride with a stinging retort saying, "I don't know what exactly Arjun said. But whatever it was, it's all right yaar. It is okay to run down anyone for a few laughs on this industry." Continued the concerned father, "Ranbir is going through that phase in his career when he is facing flak for his choice of films, and rightly so. He has made some mistakes. Ranbir will emerge a stronger wiser and a more learned actor after his suicidal career decisions." Seeing the lighter side of Arjun's barbs at Iifa, Rishi says, "Chill, yaar. All of us actors have to go through lean phases. It's part and parcel...

Bombay Velvet has created a record of amassing biggest losses of all times. With a poor opening, practically no word of mouth and zero patronage during the weekdays, it was a nosedive for the Anurag Kashyap directed film. With the filmmaker pretty much admitting the film’s failure before the end of weekend itself, the writing was clear on the wall. The film’s fate can be gauged by the fact that its first week total of 21 crore is less than Day One collections of Ranbir Kapoor’s Besharam, which too was a flop. In fact it is even lesser than the first two days collections of Roy.
While much is being said about Bombay Velvet impacting Ranbir Kapoor’s stardom, it is not going to be the case. A film’s failure impacts most when a fan-base watches the film and rejects it. However, Bombay Velvet wasn’t even seen by anyone,...

After Besharam and Roy, Bombay Velevt is Ranbir Kapoor's third film in a row that bombed at Box-office. And it has certainly shaken the actor, who has been applauded for his sterling performances and gave some really good films in the past.
Ranbir recently in one of the interviews poured his heart out saying that 'there's a sense of insecurity and I don't know what's happening with my career'. While we definitely understand the plight of his mind and the ongoing situations, all we have to say is there is a dawn after every dusk! There is still more to go and look forward to. The charming actor doesn't need to lose heart and hope.
If we look at his future projects, then Ranbir has three interesting films lined up namely Tamasha, Jagga Jasoos and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. While Jagga Jasoos is bit delayed (and it was even...

The prediction has failed, and how. In this column it was stated that Bombay Velvet would go on to net at least 10 crore on Day One. The barometer for such reasonable numbers, though not great by any means, was the opening of Roy which had stepped into double digits despite Ranbir being in a supporting role. However, all such predictions hit South when the D-day arrived. Though it had seemed that the Anurag Kashyap starrer would at least manage a face saving opening, none of that turned out to be true, what with empty houses greeting those select few who started stepping in sporadically.
Though it had seemed that the collections would improve as shows progressed in the evening, there was no respite as the word of mouth started trickling in. The film was hit on both counts, what with no opening and then poor word of mouth as well.

Right after Ali Fazal was roped in for the upcoming 'crime of passion' drama Love Affair, there were rumours about the makers having a fallout with Arjun Rampal, who was initially playing the part in the film.
Apparently, buzz was that Arjun Rampal decided to call it quits because his demands over the remuneration were not fulfilled. Now, producer Bhushan Kumar has come to the rescue and has confirmed that his relation with Arjun Rampal is very cordial and they share the same friendly bond. Quashing the rumours, Bhushan said, "Arjun Rampal is a very dedicated actor and is extremely conscious about the production values and budgets of the films he has done and commits to. As you walk out of Roy you wonder what you could have possibly done to warrant being subjected to that. Yes, we have our first unbearable release of 2015. And before you argue that we’ve had other bad ones, rest assured they were not as bad as this.
Vikramjit Singh’s debut film has a promising cast and even a somewhat promising premise but apart from that it has nothing. It has no script, no performances to boast of and above all, no entertainment value.
In brief this snoozefest is the story of a film writer/director (Arjun Rampal) who sets out to make the third instalment to his largely successfully film franchise. He meets another filmmaker while shooting (Jacqueline Fernandes) and the outcome of their relationship has repercussions on the film he is making. One can just imagine the briefing director Vikramjit Singh gave his actors while starting Roy. Arjun, just look bored and the stylist will do the rest. Jacqueline, your legs will be focus of your performance but do tell the makeup man to stock up on some good lipsticks. Ranbir, look brooding in black and please don’t question your motives for being in this film. That, in a nutshell, is Roy – beautifully wrapped trash.
What do you do when you have a film to make but no script? You book an expensive location and fly out your whole crew of course! That’s what celebrated writer, director and womaniser Kabir (Arjun Rampal) does to overcome his writer’s block. Jacqueline Fernandez has been on a winning streak with her movies doing exceptionally well at the box-office. In an exclusive chat with a leading newspaper, she revealed that her last blockbuster Kick made her all the more confident about herself and her performances. She even went on to say that “Kick re-launched my career, in a way. I hope the winning streak continues with Roy as well.”
The gorgeous lady feels that the letter ‘S’ is what works wonders for her. “I always consult Salman before signing anything. He has been very lucky for me. He has always supported me and believed in me and my work. I owe Salman a lot for the way my career has shaped up now,” she said.
There are certain other people she consults before signing any movies, along with her close friend Salman, and coincidently, the others too have names starting from her favourite letter.

Life imitates art and the lines between fiction and reality are blurred in 2015’s most stylish and engaging romantic thriller aka Roy which has released today to a fantastically bumper box office opening!!
Debutant director Vikramjit Singh’s Roy boasts of dynamic and talented ensemble lead cast comprising Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez in a slick thriller combined with obsessive love triangle narrative, set against an aesthetic backdrop of international locales.

The Sri Lankan beauty says it will be the perfect treat for the audiences as it has an attractive love story. “I’m very excited that Roy is releasing in Valentine’s Day week. Roy is love triangle starring Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor in key roles with Jacqueline playing a double role in it. Meanwhile, when asked about her V-Day plans, she said: “I don’t have a Valentine’s Day plan…I mean not any romantic plan because I’m going for the premiere of Roy. Jacqueline Fernandez has made all the right choice of films, right from the time she entered the industry. Her first film (Aladin; 2009) itself was with megastar Amitabh Bachchan. And from there, she continued her streak with films with big stars like Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan, Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor, amongst others. The actor admits that working with the big names in the industry is important for her.

She also admits that while signing a film, she even takes into account the director of the film. “My priority while signing a film is...
