This film was real too- real boring...
I tried to like this movie. Hoodman was not really scary nor suspenseful. Too bad because it had potential but it's just a really boring film...
Terrible acting amongst other things
This movie is terrible. Anyone rating this high is obviously involved with the movie somehow. The acting is horrendous and it's rather boring, honestly.

Another one!!!
There's an urban legend that says:
If you stand in front of a mirror...and repeatedly chant "Hoodman, Hoodman, wasn't very good, man!"...nothing will happen, but you feel a lot better for saying it out loud! 😂
Top 3 worst films of 2021.
Top 10 worst films of my life.
Sadly, there's no vaccine to protect us from poor filmmaking.

Such a good film
My family and I enjoyed this film from beginning to end. We were looking for a fun movie night film and this film did not disappoint! We really liked the acting, the story and directing. Directing from the standpoint the film moved along at a good pace without becoming boring. Terrific job everyone!.

A Late-Nighter With Drama and a Hoodman
Just what I needed last night: some creepy late-night horror-esk / mystery / drama with an all-around solid cast. A bit of a slow burner. Nicely shot. I kind of wished for more scenes with Hoodman, but I think the movie wanted to lean more on the drama side. I also dug the actor who played the detective.

the hoodman without...
Manhood, and a sound boom operator suffering from a myalgic shoulder some 16 minutes into movie do put some sore scratches on the whole impression of this horror flick, based on the true urban legend of the hoodman, of the modern version of the ratcatcher of hameln who enthralled all the children to come dancing in his footsteps, a film that may awake some nightmares of people having just lost their beloved small ones, or may be just nonsense to others, allthough i belong to the second cathegory, the makers did a remarkable twist at the bitterend of the story, that may become a sequel as well.
Well will i see that, not onless they use me as a consultant to move the weed of glitchery filmaking within the horror genre. The acting has two plusses, the main female actress seems reasonable realistic in her acts, and the childactor, do seem to have no fear at all staying in front of the cameralense, in day, as well as the dark, a good rookie performance really.the rest though are at average, and the parent caracters are just terrible from a to z.
Production is fairly good, the ambient music goes quite thrillingly hand in hand, and the camerawork is duable, though at some stages ,what hides in the dark stays in the dark, e.g. Darkfilming is really a serious task to take on to make your nerves rise. Also the storyline are pretty generic and straightforward urban legend style, and the solution to everyones problems is plotted in a very dact conclusive way, just expressing,'' now its over'', me sitting there as a questionmark howcome and when did that happen.
Dont shade away from this american wysterious horror film, it has the grip on you if you want to, though the grumpy old man survived the ordeal to the glittering prize, or was it due to the caffein capsules i had for breakfast...

Brilliant
It's brilliant how you can make a movie about nothing and get it published.
I mean seriously how does this script get onto film.?

Oh boy
This was definitely a movie. Not complete s*** but there was an odour. I've seen worse and I watched it to the end. Other than that I don't have anything else to say because I'm trying to be nice.
Why?
I was going to watch this movie and started off with the trailer. If you're British and of a certain age, you would have seen an image you would instantly have recognised. Why on earth would they use a picture of murdered 8 year old British school girl, Sarah Payne? Did the writers know who the girl in the picture was? Did they get permission from the family? Did they mention her in the movie? I don't understand how they were allowed to use that image or why they would use the image of a real life murder victim, a child at that. Decided not to watch the whole thing after seeing that.

It's fairly bad.
The lead "actress" isn't very good.
The lore is quite generic.
There is no horror to speak of.
It really needed to stink about 3000% less than it did.

Worse than the worst
Very bad acting and directing and story and plot-everything. Couldn't one do some movie that horrible and cheesy even they tried. Strictly avoid it.

Worth It
The title might imply this is going to be a bloodfest or old school slasher movie, but it's a well done indie horror-thriller that has some strong dramatic scenes and some solid mystery elements. But don't be fooled by the "indie film" description - this is a very well done low budget movie and the performances are very good throughout.
Overgenerous ratings
Strong reviews aren't realistic nor accurate. Good lead marred by plot holes and weak supporting actors. The story gets bogged down often and never moves in an understandable way.

Don't judge a "book" by its cover!
Very nice psychological thriller, for being a indie small budget movie is nicely produced and put together. The movie poster and title might give the idea of a more simplistic or generic slasher horror, but do not get fooled, this is a good one folks!

80's horror-thriller? Kinda... but more of its own.
While the title and poster give off an 80s horror-thriller, Hoodman does very well job bringing modernism to its story with its low budget and great performances. It kept me well evoked and also gave the chance for some real scares. It just have. Problem with how it ramps up jumps scares though. Most of the time it seems that it was trying to start and then it would let the sound take over then it lost always ends up being someone she knew. Other than that I loved the characters and the woodman lore. A great Indie horror thriller flick.

Don't waste your time
Horrible acting and horrible plot that doesn't make any sense. So formulaic and utterly predictable.
I couldn't stand the bad acting of majority of the characters and uses really cheap jump scares in very predictable occasions.

Great! Has a bit of everything
Ok so this one has it all. A missing child, a detective, a killer and an urban legend. Well paced and overall a great indie film!
