When Karl gives spurs to James at the end, he says they were his great-grandfather's spurs. But the spurs look new out of the box. Even if the leather had been replaced, spurs that old would have been used a lot and would have been well-worn.
When James and Katie first drive into "Pine Gap" they pass the post office but it's signage reads: Independence, CA 93526.
