The Invisible Government

A story that never goes out of date. Paul Marino goes after lobbyists who target politicians.

State senator Finley fell from a window. It was regarded as an accident or suicide. It was murder as some gangster threw him out of the window.

His widow and Marino believes that famed lobbyist Ollie Crown (Edmond O'Brien) was involved in the death. Finley refused to back the legislation that Crown was pushing.

This is a good solid story looking at US politics and how it can get corrupted by lobbyists and gangsters. The legislation concerned was about liquor licensing.

There was a good twist regarding Crown's girlfriend who was more friendly with gangsters and concerned about Marino hanging around Crown.

A rip roaring performance from Oscar winner Edmond O'Brien.
