This is often cited as one of the most dark, grim and violent Doctor Who stories, with a body count of 59 people killed on screen, which is much higher than The Terminator (1984), a violent sci-fi movie released later in the same year.

Goofs
Whilst up to this point in Dr. Who, portrayal of the British Army (& it's troops seconded to UNIT) had been accurately armed, the soldiers here have a Steyr AUG assault rifle amongst their L1A1 rifles and Browning pistols - a weapon never used by regular or special British forces .
