A dying breed
Television specials like this just aren't made anymore. Gone are the days when actors and performers get together and put on a special presentation, especially from different backgrounds. Carol introduces a series of clips about other television specials and live stage performances she participated in. There is music, laughter, and dancing enough for anyone. Many of her co-stars are from stage, screen, television, and even opera. Some have since passed away and are remembered fondly by Burnett fans. Guthy Renker has released a 20 disc collection of the Carol Burnett show that I now own and enjoy often. I have long desired to own this on DVD too as my VHS recording wore out long ago. I would love it even more if there were a few special features with extended clips or something. Oh, Columbia execs, ease my pain and release it already!
