The lead actors Gemini Ganesan and Savithri were married when this film was made. They kept it a secret though owing to the fact that the former was already married and had kids. In the movie though, the plot calls for them to act as a married couple to secure jobs. In effect, they were posing as a married couple in the movie when they weren't and posing as unmarried in real life when they were.
