Chris Furukawa-Burgon(I)
- Cinematographer
- Camera and Electrical Department
Chris is an experienced Cinematographer, passionate about telling stories visually and focused on collaboration and preparation. He strives to serve the story and the Director's vision, all the while working within schedule and on budget. Chris takes great pride in his dedication to story, first and foremost. Absorbing the script allows him to work from an instinctual place, informing where he trains his camera and emphasizing point of view.
Chris has over a decade of industry experience, backed by a MFA degree in Cinematography from the American Film Institute and a BA degree in Cinema-Television, Critical Studies from the University of Southern California. In between his studies, Chris took a less common (but arguably best) training route toward Cinematography by working his way up in the Lighting Department. Chris feels that through lighting, a Cinematographer has the greatest opportunity to connect with the audience on an emotional level.
This combination of intensive education and real world experience has taught Chris to balance the Artistic, Managerial, and Technical aspects of the Cinematographer.
