What happens when three very different families discover they all want the same house? That's the premise of the upcoming Netflix dark comedy series No Good Deed from Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman releasing on Netflix on Dec. 12, 2024.
When a beautiful, 1920s Spanish-style villa goes on sale in Los Feliz, several different families find themselves competing to purchase the home. But even as the characters believe they've found their dream house, it soon becomes apparent that everyone is hiding something and this competition has a way of bringing those secrets to the forefront.
Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum executive produce the series for Gloria Sanchez Productions along with Christie Smith and Silver Tree. Tree also directed the pilot and additional episodes of the series. Filming for the eight-episode comedy reportedly got underway in October 2023 in Scotland.

Afterward, a handful of fans lined up to purchase cassette tapes the two had made. It was the first time they had ever signed autographs. And for Tegan, it was the...

“No Good Deed” stars Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow as empty-nesters Paul and Lydia, respectively, who are selling their 1920s Spanish-style villa in Los Feliz, Calif. The ensemble cast includes Feldman’s “Dead to Me” star Linda Cardellini, along with O-t Fagbenle, Abbi Jacobson, Denis Leary, Poppy Liu, Teyonah Parris, and Luke Wilson. Feldman, who directed two episodes, serves as executive producer alongside Silver Tree, who directed the other six, and Christie Smith, Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell of Gloria Sanchez Productions.

Exclusive: Chloe East (The Fabelmans) is set for a key recurring role opposite Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow in Netflix‘s upcoming comedy series No Good Deed, from creator Liz Feldman (Dead to Me).
The eight-episode No Good Deed is a half-hour, dark comedy that follows three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems. But as the sellers have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a total nightmare.
East will play Emily Morgan, Paul (Romano) and Lydia (Kudrow) Morgan’s artsy but put-together daughter. She’s been away at college, but there may be other reasons she’s been distant.
Feldman serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum for Gloria Sanchez Productions, Christie Smith, and Silver Tree, who will direct the pilot and additional episodes.

Exclusive: 20th Century Studios has acquired an original feature pitch from Sarah Haskins and Emily Halpern (Booksmart), enlisting Gloria Sanchez to produce.
While plot specifics under wraps, the project is described as a mother-daughter comedy with two strong female roles.
On the film side, Haskins and Halpern most recently penned 80 for Brady, the comedy starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno and Sally Field, which Paramount released last year. They’re perhaps best known for scripting Booksmart, the BAFTA and WGA Award-nominated 2019 comedy directed by Olivia Wilde.
Creators of the CBS show Carol’s Second Act, starring Patricia Heaton, as well as the ABC sitcom Trophy Wife, the pair are currently under an overall deal in television at CBS Studios. Nominated for an Emmy for their work on staff of ABC’s Black-ish, they’ve also written on series like Good Girls (NBC), The Mayor (ABC) and Imaginary Mary (ABC), to name a few.

The allegedly toxic environment behind Dan Schneider’s Nickelodeon empire is now being uncovered in a four-part docuseries.
Amid allegations of abuse, Schneider’s legacy as the showrunner of hit series like “All That,” “iCarly,” and “Zoey 101” is being reframed. The ID documentary “Quiet on Set” exposes the dangerous culture behind some of the most iconic children’s shows of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Directed by Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz, “Quiet on Set” seeks to pull back the curtain on a controversial empire, built by creator Dan Schneider, that certainly had an undeniable grip on popular culture.
Per the official synopsis: “Series such as ‘All That’ and ‘The Amanda Show,’ among others, were obsessively consumed by children across the country and defined comedy for a generation. But behind the upbeat onscreen presence on these shows with questionable jokes and over-the-top sketches, ‘Quiet on Set’ reveals an...

If there is something positive about the existence of streaming platforms in recent times, it's the explosion of quality television series that we haven't experienced for several decades. There is something for everyone, even for TV sceptics who are not easily convinced to step out of the cinema or from what they concern as a serious screening content. Almost four years ago, during the Mastercard event at the Venice Film Festival, Brian de Palma confessed that he was hooked to the comedy-drama series “Dead To Me” starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, admitting that he was watching television more than ever before due to a big improvement in quality of productions. Liz Feldman wasn't in the audience, but I was, glad to hear that such a legend and I are sharing the same passion for the show.

Ever wanted to complete a crossword puzzle with Natasha Lyonne, or have dinner with David Cross and Bob Odenkirk? For hundreds to thousands of dollars, you can, thanks to a WGA/SAG-AFTRA eBay fundraiser benefitting the healthcare fund for Hollywood’s crew members.
Numerous names are contributing to the charity auction, which seeks to help Hollywood crew members struggling financially as the writers and actors strikes continue with no end in sight. Natasha Lyonne is offering a 15 minute “existential conversation” with the highest bidder as they work on the Wednesday New York Times crossword, and promises to bring her dog Rootbeer along for the ride. That listing is currently going for $2,100.
For a similar price (as of this writing), the cast of Bob’s Burgers will sing a customized song via a video message, and also present a SAG-AFTRA Strike sign handdrawn by Bob’s Burgers animator Simon Chong...
