- My image is me. I talk for myself. I didn't become this person others wanted me to be.
- [on getting the Jesus tattoo on her arm] My mom said, "You know Jesus, you don't need to look at him every day". But I wanted to look at Him every day because there was a time when I would wake up and I didn't even know why my eyes were even opening. I'm like, "just let me go back to sleep, make the pain go away". I would look at my arms, even when I showered, and I would get this level of strength that I couldn't explain to other people. I wear it proudly at this point now.
- [on the meaning behind her tattoos] I am covered like your average gang member... I am, all over. But you know what, each tattoo represents something that I experienced, that I got through. Everything that you see on me, I can tell you exactly what happened. The reason that the face of Jesus is on my arm, my mom said, "You know Jesus, you don't need to look at him every day!" But I wanted to look at him every day because there was a time when I would wake up and I didn't even know why my eyes were even opening. I'm like, "Just let me go back to sleep, make the pain go away." And I would look at my arms, even when I showered and I would get this level of strength that I couldn't explain to other people. So everything on me, my neck's done. My back's done, entire right leg is done. My arm is done. And uh... I wear it proudly at this point now.
- I think that you are what you speak a lot of times, and there's power in the tongue. I feel sorry for the people who always have something negative to say. If something happens bad in my day, I don't tweet about it - I pray about it, or talk to my husband about it or my mother about it, and get it off of me and move on.
- I find the positive in the negative all the time. Any time you give something power, it wins, and it can continuously happen, so I just let negative people know they have no place in my life. They have no place around my children.
- I am a firm believer that God has already ordered the things that have taken place in my life...and I'm just learning to follow the path he's laid before me.
- You know, sometimes you have to remember the bad things so that you can learn from them.

- Who? God. What? He loves you. Where? Everywhere. When? Always, forever, without ceasing. How? Totally, completely. Why? Because you are His child!
- If you think you are powerless, then you are.
- Multitasking is a part of my everyday life.
- My first priority is my children. If at any moment I put aside something that I want to do to be a better parent than that is more than okay for me.
- That Monica who's just gonna sit there in mediocrity... That Monica died in Samoa.
- I dedicated almost 12 years to the music industry before having children.
- The thought of writing was always pleasant, but the process was painful.
- In the only way that pain can be truly remembered, through a new pain.
- God is not a luxury you can't afford; He's a necessity you truly cannot live without!
- Do you know how painful it is to tell someone you love him and not hear him say it back?
- I'm a traditional wife in every sense.
- I've been more conscious of my salt intake, sugar intake, making sure I'm not eating as many processed foods.
- My husband is my part of my greatest joys, so it doesn't feel like work or like I'm balancing anything. My husband and my kids absolutely come first, so work is just something where I figure out where it will fit.
- Every day online, people, especially young people who are not developmentally equipped to handle this, are so abused and humiliated that they can't imagine living to the next day, and some tragically don't. And there's nothing virtual about that.
- You can spread your soul over a paddy field, you can whisper to a mango tree, you can feel the earth between your toes and know that this is the place, the place where it begins and ends. But what can you tell to a pile of bricks? The bricks will not be moved.
- I don't know which is more nutty. All this stuff I do outside of work, or the stuff I do all week.
- I don't know why I love cherries and I love pickles. I eat about two or three Claussen pickles a day. Those are just things I snack on.
- If God wanted us to ask questions, he would have made us men.
- The best part of being a mom to me is the unconditional love. I have never felt a love as pure, a love that's as rewarding.
