Jason is a higher up at the company where Frank works. Frank needs a place to live and Jason offers up his spare room, they become roommates and as they get closer together Jason finds himself confused about his feelings for Frank. Frank ends up admitting that he is developing feelings for Jason and when Jason doesn't reciprocate Frank moves out. It forces Jason to confront his long hidden feelings and the story ends with him confessing that he does in fact have feelings for Frank.
It's a simple, quiet, sort of low-stakes story. I did appreciate that the story didn't focus hugely on overt homophobia and instead allowed Jason to work through his own internal world in a more calm realistic way....more

I’m not much of a print artist (I make my art with fabric and yarn) so I wasn’t sure how much I would get out of a ‘learn to draw’ book. But I loved the subject matter so I checked it out anyway. It’s got so much more than just a drawing book! I loved seeing the various concept sketches and hearing about Refrainbow’s process in creating their characters and giving them styles. It also includes sections for all of the Girlfriends too. It was really cool learning more about their fashion and color choices. And I liked the dynamic poses that were given for their drawings. It’s not what I would consider a total beginner’s learn to draw book, but it’s an excellent guide if you want to try dabbling in the world of Boyfriends.
Read This If You - Love the Boyfriends story, like art and drawing, appreciate learning about an artist’s process, love character design or want to learn more about it, like adorable pastel polycules....more

We meet Indu, a trans boy who was literally found on the moon. His adoptive mother raises him on a space ship where they grow close and form a family with the crew. But everything changes when they arrive planet side where Indu joins a blended family which his mother is marrying into. Indu’s new family has lost their mother and no one is sure how this new family will work. Indu is struggling to learn a new language that everyone else speaks natively and is worried that his queer identity is putting him even further at odds. With a wonderful blending of Indonesian culture and science fiction, this story tugs at my heart strings while also making me feel hopeful for the future in this book universe and the real one. The characters come in a variety of skin colors and body types and values. I loved this and was really thankful that @netgalley allowed me to read a DRC copy of it.
Favorite Parts - Indu learning about the coming of age celebrations, learning about the trans community and terms used in Indonesian culture, the creation of Indu’s new family.
Read This If You - want to see a diverse queer space universe that gave me just a hint of Firefly vibes, trans coming of age stories, family acceptance, making queer friends, found family, and self acceptance....more

And they’ve got them all but one, the deal they made with a frustratingly cute boy named Silas. Silas agrees to cancel the deal if Dami agrees to help them break a family curse. What could go wrong?
I loved seeing the inclusion of trans and genderfluid characters in a historical story and have it not focus on pain and misery. I love that authors are finally being allowed to tell stories of queer joy and especially stories of queer people of color in a historical setting. Yes, there have been many periods of history where being queer meant you would endure a lot of abuse from other people, but queer people have always been here and have not always lived lives of unending grief and pain.

We meet Ellery, a non binary high schooler who has left the farm they were raised on in order to get a job in the city. The world has been trapped in a ceaseless winter for five long years and the farm can't support itself any longer. When Ellery meets "weird hot guy" Knox who turns out to be a magical liminal person, they can't help but get attached to him. But Knox has a secret and if Ellery knows his truth it might ruin the magic that's happening between them.
Otherworldly was a quick and easy read. It felt a little bit sugary at times, there was some sort of insta-love which I'm not a huge fan of. I did like the magical creatures and the way that magical world merged with the human world. Supportive characters Charlie and Zada were a big highlight. The romance was extremely tame, there was a brief make out session and that was it.
Magical side characters were excellent. I wanted to read more about Lorelei and Bram! They were tantalizing and we only got short glimpses of them. Overall verdict, quite readable, but not very deep. A good companion for a stressful day or heavier reads....more

This is a cute story of four college guys navigating their way in a poly relationship. They have ups and downs, but the story never gets too heavy or difficult. It is a bubblegum pop story with real feelings and humor. The perfect antidote for a rough day. The art style is great and the storylines are satisfying and feel good....more

But it seems like Ren is just taking it all in stride. It causes Kai to secretly confess his romantic feelings for Ren, but when Ren overhears it seems like everything goes wrong.
How can they move forward still being friends with that hanging between them? Has Kai risked everything by admitting what he feels?
This story is tropey in the best way. Friends to Lovers, Dramatic Love Confessions, and high school romance. I enjoyed this one....more

Many years later Hozumi returns to their hometown to help his ailing father and the two reconnect. But Mishima isn't sure he's willing to let Hozumi back into his life again. When Hozumi finds out that Mishima has become somewhat of a recluse, rarely ever leaving the lighthouse that he took over after his father's passing, he determines to find a way to repair the damage he caused all those years ago.
I was a little bit put off by Hozumi's forceful methods, how he showed up and wasn't listening to Mishima's requests for him to leave and I found the rekindling a little bit forced. But I think with a little better pacing this could have been a really heart-warming story....more

And he’s not crazy about coming back, but when his mother guilts him into a visit for Thanksgiving he’s not counting on running into his adolescent crush, Hunter Jackson. Hunter is all grown up and Charlton finds it all to easy to remember why he used to dream about him. However, Hunter is still pissed off over “The Turkey Incident” from all those years ago and when the chance to get revenge comes up Charlton finds himself wearing a turkey costume and holding a sign saying “I stole Hunter Jackson’s Prize Turkey.” Unfortunately for Hunter, that costume looks damn good on Charlton and both men are forced to reconsider some things.
Turkeys is a small town queer romance set in the small town of Licking Thicket where everything is a innuendo and they celebrate such festivals as the Annual Licking, Stuffing, and so many more ridiculous events. This is the latest in a series, they can each be read as stand alone but oh my god they’re so damn funny. You should read them all. Did I mention they’re free on Kindle Unlimited?
Favorite Parts - ALL THE LEWD INNUENDOS. Seriously this series makes me laugh out loud. Buck Nutter wrote the video game Horn of Glory and loves to go on about his Magical Seed. Just... you can’t top this stuff (XD)
Read This If You - Love puns, giggled like a teenager at the sentence above, love second chance romances, childhood sweethearts, small town romances, and meddling matchmaking family members scheming to get their queer kids to meet the loves of their lives.
