A plot full of mystery and surprises i did not see coming, characters i fell in love with, a story of loss, finding out who you are and where you come from, bonds that cannot be broken , and that first time love that never leaves you, this had it all and i loved it! Expecially the ending. This book is special as are the charcters to me just like all the characters Eve Chase writes about! Cannot wait till the next book!...more

I loved how the characters were flawed which somehow made them more real. It was interesting how the plot slowly unravelled, a few red herrings thrown in which made it unpredictable. I would love to know what happened to the main character afterwards I'd like to think she found happiness or her and Daniel made their way back to eachother. ...more

Like the first book The Last **spoiler alert** I don't think I'm ever going to dislike anything from this amazing author, she is a pro in this genre. Like the first book The Last Party in this series i was completely absorbed, yes Ffion can be really frustrating expecially when it comes to poor Leo but i understand her and can't help but love her. The plot line was really good definitely kept you guessing and wasn't predictable. Dave what can i say but i love him I'm so glad Ffion kept him and I'm so glad Ffion actually told Leo how she really felt after treating him so badly through most of the novel. I cannot wait to read the next installment ...more

Lisa Jewell has long been one of my favourite authors from this genre and i can't say she disappointed me with this! There was definitely some questionable characters Walter expecially was very controversial whether or not he abused his daughter he still got into a relationship with a young girl therefor even if he was the best father in the world he was still a paedophile and therefor unredeemable! Whether or not Josie flung herself at him is irrelevant. However apart from that storyline which frankly was hard to read, the book itself and the plot was a real page turner with some definite twists and turns and an ending that left you still confused about who was actually telling the truth. I think no matter who Killed Brooke which is still debatable i think we can all agree Josie is bad news!...more

But as i got further into the book i found i could not put it down, some of the characters i didn't love if I'm honest but the flaws in them all was kind of the reason i ended up warming to them if not completely liking them , they were human and nobody is perfect and i kinda really liked that about this book, that and the friendships and how you can go on an edure even after tragedy. The thriller Aspect of the book, was kept interesting and not too predictable and the setting was written really well aswell so yeah overall a worthwhile read!...more

Admittedly when i read the first couple of chapters i did wonder if i was going to understand the book as its computer heavy and although i have some knowledge into these things the NSA although i have heard of them i don't know much about the inner workings of them , however i persevered and I'm glad i did, what a story!! ( and yes completely understandable) now i know technology has advanced alot since this book as it was written in the 90s but i really enjoyed it! I loved the two main characters individual storylines expecially Beckers as the poor man literally could not catch a break! The story was thrilling and well paced and kept you invested in the outcome, A few red herrings placed here and there and some cleaver twists i couldn't ask for more! Can't wait to read the other standalone! ...more

I've had the books for years as i loved the films but having not read Dan Brown i wasn't sure if I'd like his writing style and boy i was really wrong, i also didn't think the films could be topped again wrong! I devoured this i literally could not put his down! And the fact i read the illustrated version made it an even more amazing read having the visuals there as well. All i want to do now is head to Rome and do the walk of illumination! And the fact that Rome is the city I'd most love to visit as I'm a art lover made the book extra intesting. I highly recommend this i cant wait to read da vinci code which I'm starting now!...more

The storyline itself was good and creepy but this author writes creepy well , the killer was someone i didn't suspect and even liked , the book is also written from the perspectives of Hanna and Maya who are vacationing at the retreat which can only be described as a tortuous family get together , big spoiler here but i hated Jo i wasn't sad with what came of her nor did i hold the person responsible in bad esteem. Cannot wait for the next book too many questions need answering ...more

I found this book more of a slow burn but not in a bad way i enjoyed reading how the investigation unfolded peice by peice and Ffion and Leo's relationship. I genuinely had no idea who did it as it literally could have been any of them each with a plausible motive. Rhys as it turned out was a despicable human being who deserved absolutely no sympathy and you kind of wanted to shake the person responsible's hand for getting rid of someone who utterly had it coming! The ending really shocked me i definitely did not see that coming at all! I cannot wait for the next book i can't wait to see how everything progresses expecially after the cliff hanger! ...more

I'm in this series till the end I'm invested in this story and i see no point in pretending otherwise! This review will contain some spoilers so you have been warned, I'm not going to lie i was absolutely gutted Robin and Strike didn't finally get together in this book i was so frustrated i felt like screaming at times. But i do understand why the Author has drawn it out yet again i know that particularly strike has some personal growth to do and i feel like in this book he did although too late, seriously something better happen in the next book though i can't wait any longer! Like all the previous books i loved this , it was long but i loved that fact as i didn't want it to end, there were some real shocks along the way too which i didn't see coming i was absolutely absorbed in the storyline the character growth the mystery of it all , and although I'm well aware how toxic social media can be this was an eye opener to just how vile people can be. All i can really say is i need more i need the next book desperately please let it be less than 2 years! The only thing that makes me feel better about waiting is the fact troubled blood will soon be on tv and that can't come quickly enough!

Apart from that i think it had alot to do with the characters i couldn't stand them, awful people it was hard to feel sympathetic towards any of them , the only ones i did was the boys and Mark mostly (apart from the fact he can't seem to be able to cope alone which was irritating) . Kylie however it was very hard to feel anything other than annoyance at her entitlement and arrogance! that being said though out of them all Fiona was the worst in every sense, i longed for a scene with the police officer figuring her out and was furious she didn't. Overall the book isn't bad at all i just wish i read it without knowing the ending !...more

I will keep this brief because i don't want to give anything away as you so easily could but this was awesome we even get a little more of a back story about Elizabeth and there was some definite revelations there! This sequel was just as good as the first and definitely just as hilarious these four characters really do hold a special place in my heart I'm so thrilled there is another book!! Also @greatjoy69 has an actual Instagram account you'll get what i mean if you read the book! So you may want to look that up!! ...more

So the plotThis is possibly my favourite book by Laura Marshall so far, I'm going to be very vague as i don't want to accidentally give anything away. So the plot centres around a massacre which claimed the lives of eleven people in 1994, in the present it is coming up to the 25th anniversary of the tragedy, cassie is the daughter of one of the victims her father who was killed when she was 4 years old and she has come home to look after her mother suffering from early onset alzheimer's. Cassie is a single mother her daughter less than 6 months old so she is struggling with both parenthood and losing her mother to her illness. Soon Cassie starts to suspect all is not what it seems with the events of 1994 and starts to dig into her past to discover a shocking truth. I really enjoyed this one i had my suspicions on some of the secrets which turned out to be correct but there was definitely some i didn't see coming and i enjoyed learning about all the victims of the massacre which gave me subtle clues throughout...more

I liked Ellen i think more as the book progressed and she started opening her eyes to the reality if the situation i thought the plot was realistic maybe slightly predictable but not in a way that i minded. Overall a good read!...more

I loved all the perspectives and characters apart from a couple of them who you will find out about yourself when and if you read this which i strongly recommend. So unlike anything I've previously read i loved the character development and the fact it was brutal and real outlining the harsh realities of survival i really don't want to give much away but this book brought out a range of emotions in me and i became really invested in the characters and their journeys both emotionally and physically and i won't tell you which character but one characters deaths right near the end completely devastated me! As i fell in love with them all!! I will also add that this does have trigger warnings of rape although they are not detailed or delved into they are clearly mentioned. I strongly recommend this book can't wait to start the second!
