Sasa, the female lead, is supposedly spying on Vasilije but she doesn't seem to take her role seriously. The next thing we know, she's having the best sex of her life with Vasilije. Cool! We all love a good sex scene. But then she's upset with Vasilije and tries to seduce his vamp in training. I may have missed her logic but this made no sense other than that it lead to an almost menage a trois which was short circuited when Vasilije sent baby vamp to another room.
With the fantastic opening, I really expected more. YMMV. That aside, the erotic scenes were well done and Vasilije was...well, hawt! That says a lot right there ;-)

Great cast of characters too. The main POV character, Dayton Blainey, lost her parents at an early age and was sent to live with her Aunt Kyra in an Abbey filled with Sisters of the faith. Dayton is fairly oblivious to what's going on around her for a good part of the beginning of the book. Her bestie, Monroe, is a Wiccan and has visions. There's a handsome gargoyle, a handsome demon, betrayal, and the search for an ancient talisman that will help Dayton survive.
My complaint is that there is a lot of info dumped sporadically around the book. That slows the story down but, in general, it does appear to be information necessary to understand what's going on....more
