She prefers to help and work for the underdog and often takes photos of cheating spouses. When her home is broken into and a client connection ends up dead, she calls on Detective Carson Irish to help hide and figure out why she’s now a target. Carson promises to help and decides he also needs her back in his bed. Their wedding date hookup wasn’t enough for him.
Sexy, steamy and suspenseful, this book moves fast . It’s my favorite of the series because you can feel the heat between these two. More, he is respectful of her job and we know his feelings for her run deep. Irresistible.

Can be read as a stand-alone but don’t miss the other books. Strong female lead. Tessa’s dream is coming true: she’s bought her first restaurant. Of course there are a few stipulations such as dating the previous owners three nephews within the first week but Tessa has it under control. Until a dead body turns up in the basement and Tessa may be a suspect. A second copy of the deed, a claim on the property and the missing seller, all has Tessa working with Nick and her extended family to clear up all the problems.
Romantic suspense with a bit of comedy and ultimately swooning at the hotness, this novel is a not-to-miss diversion.

Oh so any sentimental tears! I love a story that can move me so much. Heartstrings galore. Mostly on the sweet and happy side.
Contemporary former bad boy turned family man romance. Dripping with emotion. 7th book in the Wyoming Rebel series. Can be read as a standalone.
They wanted only to protect her so pushed her away and out of town to college. Instead of feeling protected, she felt abandoned and alone. This cowboy is smart. Ryder. He opens up to her. Explains his feelings and reasoning. And pleads with her to rethink her experience from a different viewpoint. Stupid brother needed shaking to wake up even though he already found love and acceptance. Backslide there.
Love, love, love this family of wounded protector men turned into amazing beautiful people. I’m grateful the author didn’t push this storyline just to get it completed. It was worth the wait.
Excerpt: “Ryder inhaled at the sound of her voice, and something deep inside him vibrated, almost violently. He'd missed her. Hell, he'd missed her so much that his chest actually hurt. Travis pushed Chase aside to embrace her. Then Maddox. His brothers encircled her, welcoming her, asking her about her trip, when she'd arrived, where she was staying. He didn't move. His feet were stuck to the floor, his legs frozen as he listened to her talk, letting the sound of her voice wash over him. He'd forgotten what her voice felt like, how deeply it touched him, how much he'd yearned to hear it.” Excerpt From A Real Cowboy Always Trusts His Heart by Stephanie Rowe

Audy and Brooke have never been friends but they manage to tolerate each other for their best friends. An accident has made Audy and Brooke guardians of baby Joy. They must set aside their issues and be the best co-parents they can be.
Sweet and charming. Some sad tears in the beginning but tender joy by the end.
Audy is an adult but seems to have little responsibility. It really took awhile for me to warm up to him. It’s his caring and protectiveness of Joy that finally won me over. Of course, the baby is absolutely adorable in this story.

A beautifully written contemporary romance that made me cry several times. Happy, emotional tears. 5th Book Ruff Around the Edges by Roxanne St Claire
A beautifully written contemporary romance that made me cry several times. Happy, emotional tears. 5th Book in the Dogfather series. Can be read as a standalone. The town of Better Bark is dog friendly. What a great concept. And it’s no surprise that the one business that doesn’t allow pets is struggling. And knowing the history of the dog rescues, I knew there would be more to Ruff than just a big goofball. G rated. At least in terms of the physical. The emotional elements? Have the Kleenex ready. I loved the hero. An honorable gentleman relearning his family and life purpose. His emotional reactions whenever he sees Beck are endearing.
Excerpt: “She lifted her chin and looked at him, probably unaware that at that very moment, he could see the resemblance to her brother as strongly as ever. It was something in the color of her eyes. More than the color. The spark. In Charlie, it had been fun and warm and a precursor to something that would make Aidan crack up. In her, it was pretty and feminine and a precursor to something that made him want to find out what it would feel like to kiss her. A lot. Often. And for a really long time.” Excerpt From Ruff Around the Edges by Roxanne St. Claire This material may be protected by copyright.

6th book in the Redemption Harbor series. Romantic suspense. This is Leighton’s story. Not really best as a standalone, although it could be, because almost all the characters from the previous books are part of this rescue mission.
I love the writing style of this author. The action is fast, the characters have depth including secondary ones, and the sex and relationship building is hot and steamy. You’ll never forget in this series, that Leighton is the one with the sad eyes. Gallantry and dry humor abound. Fair warning: lots of swearing.

Lizzie Vega is hoping a trained K-9 will help with her PTSD but a storm on the way to pickup Sierra has her nerves raw and jumpy. Hayden Mitchell realizes that the woman in the parking lot needs a bit of help but he really wants Sierra to find a forever home. Getting stuck at his ranch because of washed out roads will give them all time to connect and assess.
The adorable toddle steals every scene. And if not the child, then certainly the emotional support dogs Sierra and Charley. I couldn’t imagine going through the trauma that was in Lizzie’s past but I’m glad to know that the K-9 programs are real and available to help. The story was romantic and sweet and everything you want in a happily ever after. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Same main couple with many secondary characters spanning the three novels. Sloane Reid decides to audition at the new Cedar Creek community theater when she hears about it. The old warehouse is undergoing renovations to turn it into a theater and Sloane feels she and Dani Ward could become friends. As they discuss the changes being made, some of the bags of groceries that Dani had just brought in fell off the table. And one of the maintenance men said his tools had been pushed to the floor by someone. But no one else was in the building. Yes, there appears to be a ghost in residence. Dani and Sloane investigate other wild stories by former tenants of the building to find what what’s going on and who the ghost might be. Assuming it is a ghost and not someone that simply doesn’t want the theater to open.
By this time in the series we know Sloane and expect arguments with Tristan and paparazzi around town. This books expands the town parameters a bit as well as expanding the ghost factor. Expect a few goosebumps when unexpected things happen at the theater. A good mystery and addition to the series. I enjoyed the concept and twists. 4.5

Romantic suspense. Last book in the Redemption Harbor series. It could be read as a standalone but because all the characters from the prior books are in this one, it's better read subsequent to the prior books.
The hit man falls in love, decides to give up his profession for he heroine but the past isn't that easy to walk away from. She's now in danger and it's up to the whole crew at Redemption Harbor Security to protect her.
This series was fast moving adventure, danger, romantic connections and generous, deep friendships. Be warned: there is quite a bit of killing bad guys throughout the entire series. It's not graphic but the head count is high. My favorite character was Sky. She was a truly unique agent. I enjoyed the pattern found in each book. It ramps the tension until the very end.

Book 4 in the Alaska Heat series. Contemporary Romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone. Previous events and characters are mentioned in this book so it might feel like you want to know their stories or more about an event. I have not read the previous books and had no problem following the story. I do want to go backwards and read the previous books in the series after reading this.
Fast paced, engrossing and a thrilling story. Romantic and inspiring. The heroine has had a lot of trauma in her past. She’s scared but strong enough to overcome those events and grow and be comfortable in trusting friends.
Excerpt: “Protectiveness surged through him, a fierce need to keep her safe, to free her spirit to soar again. A smile flickered across her face. "You look so intense right now." "I've decided to keep you safe." He hadn't meant to say it, and he sure as hell hadn't intended to say it like he was staking a caveman claim on her well-being, but that's what came out. She stared at him, then suddenly, a smile flooded her face, lighting up her eyes with a sparkle that seemed to reach right into his core and rip all his shields away. "Thank you for saying that. I have the same goal for myself.” Excerpt From BURN By Stephanie Rowe

Eighth book in the Demon Slayer Biker Witch paranormal mystery series. There are almost as many novellas in this series as well. You can find the reading order on the author’s website. The books should be read in order.
The Demon Slayer is again fighting for her life against evil with the Biker Witches and family helping. Lizzie has come full circle with family and fighting skills. This latest evil takes all hands on deck. Mostly dark because of the demons. Tense, mystery format with lighter moments provided by Pirate.
I love these continuing stories of the granny aged witches as a motorcycle gang and Lizzie’s success at fighting Demons but mostly inept witch skills. The whole jelly jar spell holder concept makes me want to start collecting them in case someday I have a need.
Excerpt because I love humor more than almost anything else in my reading: “But the second Crazy Frieda’s motorcycle stopped next to me, Pirate leapt out of the sidecar like a dog on fire. “Wow, what a ride!” he said, shaking off in a move that involved his entire body. He turned in a circle. “I broke my new bug-eating record! I love it, they just fly right into your mouth, and you don’t have to chase them or anything!” Pirate was an energetic Jack Russell terrier, mostly white but with a dollop of brown on his back that wound up his neck and over one eye. Ever since I’d come into my powers, I’d been able to speak with my dog. In real sentences. In the beginning, I’d thought my new ability would enable me to at last crack the code on canine thoughts and behaviors. Now, I understood my dog mostly thought about bacon and beef jerky and pretty much any food besides the food I bought for him.” Frieda winked at me and patted her stacked blond hair, miraculously unmussed from her silver and white motorcycle helmet. “I’ll go ahead and get the little baby a snack.” Frieda strolled for the main building, Pirate trotting at her side. “Dog treats,” I called, “you know you want to be a good dog.” “I heard her say hot dog,” Pirate remarked.” Excerpt From What to Expect When Your Demon Slayer is Expecting by Angie Fox This material may be protected by copyright.
