MM/Gay Romance with Strict Top/Bottom Roles
Sometimes you just want to read a book about a Toppy Top and the Bottom who loves him. Please limit the list to couples with strict top/bottom roles.
This means the top only tops and the bottom only bottoms. This is relationship specific, so it doesn't matter what the characters do before they meet. For series where couples start out with strict roles and then become more versatile in later books, include the books they are not versatile if the books can be read as stand alones.

Rule Breaker (Mixed Messages, #1) by Lily Morton (position 326/328) shouldn't be on the list, in chapter 16 the couple switch roles.

I think The Art of Murder series by Josh Lanyon shouldn't be here, Sam and Jason are a versatile couple; I honestly don't get how some people vote on this list...

Wait... I read all 4 books and I don’t remember them switching.

Oh, I’m sorry! I guess I tuned that out somehow. Or actually missed it ahahah. (but if it helps they don’t switch in the next two books, that I remember for sure). I’ll be removing my vote so the book should disappear from here.

It's not a problem, but thanks. :) I still have to read the other volumes, so they probably are going to stick with definite bed roles, maybe just vol.2 shouldn't be on this list.

Thank you! :)
I would like to know the criteria for voting on this list.
Nowhere Ranch has a versatile couple.
Roe has more bed scenes where he's the bottom, ok, but in the book is clear he and Travis switch roles at least two times.
If I search titles on this list is because I really want to read about a ''Toppy Top and the Bottom who loves him'', but I guess some people vote here with a different point of view because it's not the first time I find books with versatile couples in it.

Thanks for pointing out books that don't fit the list. I had a librarian remove Nowhere Ranch, Zero at the Bone, Rule Breaker, and a few others I noticed myself. I left the Art of Murder series since it looks like book 2 is no longer in the list and the rest do fit the list.

Hi, thanks for your reply and thanks for deleting the wrong titles. :)

Revived by Kora Knight shouldn't be on the list... the top unfortunately bottoms at the end of the book...
I don't think A Fashionable Indulgence: A Society of Gentlemen Novel (Society of Gentlemen Series Book 1) by K.J. Charles should be on this list. Harry says in the book that he can go both ways and at the end of the book Julius tells him he'll fuck him. So... as someone who wants to read only books with strict top/bottom pairing it's very disappointing and frustrating when the book ends w the couple being versatile.
Fair warning, in Protection, the MCs switch at least once. Same in Exhale, the MCs switch at the end of the book.

Yes. I absolutely don't understand why was this book put into this list.

I dislike vers pairings, it's simply my preference so I avoid reading books with them.
It's already frustrating enough that I never know if the book has strict top/bottom pairing or vers and I'm going into it blind so I'm really glad lists like this exist. But what's the point of it when it's incorrect and contains books that have obviously versatile pairings? It's not even the first time I started reading a book that is in this list and halfway through I find out that the pairing is actually vers.

I'm the same, but the other way round. I honestly love following this list's comments because it gives me recs. But i know what you mean, there is another list for vers mcs, and sometimes they're incorrect and r not actually vers, which ruins the books for me. Everyone can add books to the lists so it makes sense that there would be mistakes. Maybe for some people, if they only switch once towards the end, they would not consider them vers, and so add them here. who knows?

Haha same. There are books that sit on both this list and the vers one (with multiple votes). Maybe it’s a mistake, maybe it’s pointless trolling — we can’t let each other have things? Anyhow, I tag my MM books this way and I can guarantee anything I put under strict is really strict; my shelves aren’t big but perhaps they could help, if you want.

Can someone please suggest some really good strict top bottom mm books because I don't trust this list completely... N when I mean strict like the top should only top ( no fingering even)...

I actually know a lot more but these are the ones i would definitely recommend to read and I'm absolutely certain that they are safe because I've read them more than once. If you ever feel like it, feel free to send me a message and we can swap recommendations without having it write it here. I definitely understand the struggle of finding a good strict top/bottom books. I very much avoid books with versatile pairings lol.

Haha:D true... I did the same... Sticking to abo until till it became clear that I couldn't trust that trope too, then I stuck to alessandra hazard's books. Her books are the only books that I can read without worrying if there's gonna be a switch... ofc except for that one book.

Hello. Sorry for replying to you out of nowhere. I just wanted to PM you something about books since I wanted to know if we have the same specific interests in books, and if so, maybe we can help each other out with recommendations or information and such. I just made a Goodreads account just for this haha.
I initially tried PMing you but it seems your PM settings is not set to receive PMs from anyone.

The Nira Chronicles by Kora Knight should not be in this list. I've read both books and I'm very sure it has switching. I see someone has already pointed this out years ago, but the books are still in the list.
