If you ask me to give 5 best Indian Mythological fiction title that I have read, the Kalki has made it place the moment I read part 1 (Dharmayoddha Kalki: Avatar of Vishnu). So along with Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi, Vikramaditya Gatha by Shatrujeet Nath, Ajaya by Anand Neelakantan, and Sangram Sindhu Gatha by Vivek Kumar, Avatar of Vishnu by Kevin Missal is part of my personal favorite and must-have & must-recommended category book. We waited almost 1 year for this awaited sequel. So here I am discussing book 2 (Satyayoddha Kalki: Eye of Brahma)

This part started with multiple subplots.
1) Kalki's travel towards Mahendragiri hills - He was accompanied by Kripa & Padma. As usual tragedy and adventure followed them. They met some ancient tribes.
2) Arjan's Imprisonment - Capture by Kali's force, Arjan was imprisoned & forced to entertained royals by means of the duel. He was mentally harassed by Kali.
3) Kali's sister's attempt to reveal her assistant's true motive & in that process met with a new ally, daughter of Indragrah. She also wanted to help Arjan.
4) Manasa's entry into the Naga Kingdom. She found her country in turmoil of civil war. Her brother's family was assassinated by Suparnas. She needed to overcome this obstacle if she wanted to take revenge on Kali.

Above are just a portion of the first half of the book, "The Coup of Indragrah". The second part "The Dandak Rebellion" has its own subplots. In short, you cannot put down the book before finishing it.

Rarely you will find a story woven with multiple important characters and their part in it. The author has wonderfully portrayed his imaginary world and glued readers to the same. Each story flows so smoothly and merged with another story that you hardly felt ripples. It is very difficult to create so many characters and let them play their part. And if you can do it properly your work will be revered, same is the case here. Wonderful characterization, smooth flow, clear progression, easy to follow language and pack with action mystery what else you would need from a book. A book story worth having cult or fan following.

SATYAYODDHA KALKI – EYE OF BRAHMA

Author: Kevin Missal

Genre: Fiction

THIS BOOK REVIEW IS ONLY BASED ON MY FEELINGS DURING READING THE BOOK. IT DOES NOT INTENT TO HURT ANYONE’S FEELINGS, AND DOES NOT MEANT TO COMPARE WITH ANY OTHER REVIEWER’S FEELINGS

“The Road ahead will not be without peril”

This is the second part of the Kalki Series. The author I must say is successful to maintain a fair deal of curiosity, but somewhere I felt that he has lost in the middle. The journey of Kalki continues toward Mahendra-Giri, to understand to himself or what are his powers. But he has introduced so many characters, that he could not maintain his balance in the story, rather at the end tried to finish in a hasty manner. the main confusion he created is about Dharm & Adharm. But one thing for sure I want to read the last book of the series.

As I’ve mentioned in my first review about the series, that one who is well versed with Indian Mythology, Game of Thrones, Planet of Apes, Star Wars, etc, will find the storyline somewhat matching, this second book is like “Take the Storyline from those movies, create your own plot & map and blend it well with Indian Mythological Characters”. Most of the Puranic Characters from Hindu Mythology have appeared in the Book.

The language is sometimes funny, sometimes with lots of grammatical errors. But if you want to seat at your couch after a full day of hectic workload, on one fine evening, with a cup of coffee, this book might give you pleasure and a bit of relaxation with its super easy writing and funny plot making. But if you have very high expectations you will get fairly disappointed.

And finally from my viewpoint:

My Rating is 2.5/5.0.

Disappointing!

The plot was seemingly better than the first book albeit it lacked research -
How would a princess(apparently who was an apple of her father King's eyes) know the smell of a dead rat?
Why make the plot so obvious that Vedanta is going to die? A few paragraphs before his death I thought to myself, "looks like Kevin is wrapping up another character".

Started this book because I started the trilogy and what is started must be ended. But this was better than the first one.
There are several plots that run parallel, this thing the author I guess might have adapted from his favorite series and I loved this way of writing. The story unfolds the situations to both kali and Kalki in the same fashion and looks out for the answer why one is Dharm and the other is adharm. the dialogues have improved yet few things are flimsy.
I somehow don't like the way the characters start falling in love with every other character. there can be other relations than this one.
the ending of the books was I guess known to every mytho reader since the beginning- the cursed one, the scarred one. though I hope the question of how did Kripa betrayed his sister and her husband will be answered through this one because you must describe what you had started.
Finally, this was not giving me creeps while reading like the first book of this trilogy did. I see a lot of improvement.

After the first book I was quite excited about the second one... the second one is also quite interesting but there are questions that remain unanswered like what will happen to Manasa now will she attack or not, what is kali planning, what will happen when Kalki meets aswathama.. the story of Kripa, how is Arian doing being the new lord.. I really hope that a 3rd book is on its way...

Too many editing mistakes. I came across this book first. Though it’s the second in the series it didn’t pique my interest enough to read the first one. It missed an opportunity with the bad edit work.

Sorting and Grammar check

A spell check is of extreme importance. Do is a grammar check. How hard is it to get a book edited or is that now becoming passe?

I will say this was marginally better than the 1st one. The character plots were better. But this is where I leave this series and urge everyone to skip it entirely.

Unlike the first book which I didn't really like that much this one was really better. There's a great amount of character development. The political agenda of each leader curbed the best kinda twists into the plot. I loved the way the story is wrung around Dharm and Adharm along with others battling their own versions of wars. It's as if everyone is in their own kinda battles, nobody has the privilege to escape from it. I loved the suspense the author suspends over the reader's head.

I was glued to the book and enjoyed it very much. Didn't like the third part though. It seemed to racy and there was a lot of dump to catch upon.

Personally I found the author has made an amazing use of Aryan-Dravid myth (this is what I felt like) The author has created a beautiful world and doesn't fail to serve the best through his writings. This second book feels like the onset of Kalki's authentic character development since it's in this book that he discovers many truth about himself.

After all, whether we are on the side of Dharm and Adharm falls on our deeds and choices. I love how the book further unfolds and lets the reader into the aspect of Dharm on the supposedly wrong side too. I want to know what happens next so looking forward to reading the final book sooner!

The idea of reading the fiction on yet to arrive Avatar Kalki is very exciting and thrilling. Recommended to everyone who wants to read the imaginary telling of Kalki Avatar on the Earth. As long as one remembers that these are mere fiction produced out of the fabrics of the Itihas and Purana the reader would not adrift from the actuality.

This book is the second part of kalki- the dharmayodha. In this book Kalki is traveling to mahendragiri and what all difficulty he faces. Parallely other 3 stories go on. One is of Manasa Vasuki's sister, another is Arjan and indragarh and the last one is about Kali. This book is importantly barred on eye of brahama which shows you past, present, future and the fourth one which can be the possibility not certainly according to one'action in the present. There are 4 shrads. Each important characters have one of those in the book now. Author has confused who is important or who is dharma and adharma. Overall it's a good book to read now waiting for the last book hope it comes fast. Overall I would say it's a very good Goodread... 😊

Book 2-satyayoddha "KALKI"- eye of brahma- 5/5 💥
After reading of the first book of kalki trilogy, I was sure that I am going to read the second book. And I completed kalki book: 2-Eyes of brahma.
.
I can happily agree to say that the word building and character building work of the book is outstanding. You can get a new story with every turning page. The names of the characters are amazing: kalki, kali, kripa, arjan, rudra, sukracharya - With many Lords -avatars of vishnu.
.
Each and every character well devloped nd described. all have their own differnt story ,you cant judge any of them. The character I liked the most is Nanda- his knowledge, spirit and specially his love for manasa was so pure. The way he died made me cry :'(
.
In this book, women are depicted having strong spirits of fighters: like 13 year old urvashi, manasa , kadru , padma ,ratna . .even the issue of LGBT rights is shown in completely different way. .
I expected to know many things about who is Dharma and Adharam but was little disappointed by the ending because the book ends with lot of questions that still remain unanswered, but truly this makes me more excited to read part 3! .
We have seen many mythology stories turning into movies. I would be delighted to watch movie based on this book! I would be the first viewer of it for sure :)

So much emotions are packed in these 437 pages.

Each chapter flows with different perspective of different characters. We venture into different lands, different stories, different characters fighting for different reasons, but all are connected...interwoven in every way. Madness, bloodshed, backstabbing, something prominent happens in each chapter to leave one breathless, emotionally drained.
In the middle of all these is The Eye Of Brahma.

We support every character whose world we get to know, for they are all right in their own perception. The story raises so many questions, some it answered and some are left for us to contemplate until the next book is here.

I'm emotionally drained. You get connected to these character and when there's so many things happening to them, you also feel each and every blow alongside.

The places, from Dandka to Suparnabhoomi were described so vividly that you can imagine as you go along with the story.

The sequences, especially action and war are described very well to keep the imagination flow without a hitch.

Characters have become so much stronger than we have seen them in the book 1.

Story flowed without any boring or monotonous part for us to just skip through as I have already said so much things are happening in just a single chapter to miss.

Kalki is in the war, well every character is in the war with one or other or with eachother.

Twists and damn twists, damn serious bloody twists keeps you grabbing your heart and say-

wait, he had a..
Wait he was his...
Wait he is...
Wait what is..
Wait how is..

Okay that was just me while reading the book.

This is second book of the Satyayoddha Kalki series named Eye of Brahma. I already read first book last year so I was eagerly waiting for this one. And indeed this one was worth waiting for. My favourite genre is fiction and mythology and this one is clearly combination of both. So I loved it.

This is second part of the series but you can directly go for second part if you haven’t read first as author have given brief storyline of the first part initially in the book. But I recommend you all to read first to enjoy this series completely. For better understanding author has given map of Illavarti and also scale/graph of time frame and I loved it.

In the first part of the book that is Dharmayoddha Kalki- The Avatar of Vishnu, the story is in two parts. The battle of Sambala and the rise of Kali. This book starts with part three of the story that is The coup at Indragarh. It’s really difficult to summarise the story as each and every part is equally important for the plot. So overall I will try to briefly write my reviews. Well descriptive and interesting plot. I loved this one more than first part. Book is written really very well in well elaborated manner. Amazing use of vocabulary and language. I love the concept “Eye of Brahma”. I loved the description of war. I loved how politics and war are portrayed. It’s well written and grabs your interest. During whole time, I felt like I was watching the movie. I would definitely love to see movies/series based on these books. One of the best one I have read till now. A must read for everyone and especially mythology lovers. Very few authors from India can write such masterpieces. And this series is indeed one of it. I am eagerly waiting for the next book by the author! A must read!

It breaks my heart, but I was waiting for Book 2. Since last year when I completed reading Book 1.
And I am quiet disappointed by it. It's sad, how the book 2 is not half as good as book 1.

There are so many grammatical errors, he's and she's are interchanged, too many 'then then' (double words used again and again), and too many plots.

A detail review will be posted soon. And rating might go further down.
I am seriously disappointed :(

So, i just finished reading this amazing book, which is the second book in the Kalki trilogy. And, the only thing i can say about this story is amazing.....

When i read the first book, i was sure i am going to read the second book... and i must say this book surpassed the 1st book to amaze me, to entertain me and to excite me for the third part...

Talking about the story, this story starts from the point when Kalki escapes his execution at the hands of Kali and starts his journey to mahendragiri, what follows is different wars that he needs to fight... on the other hand politics among the different tribes is escalating and so is the greed for power....

There is going to be a war between Dharm and Adharm.... but who really is adharm? And is there a single hero of this story and a single villain? We await the answers...

The world building and the character building is so amazing that none of the characters seems left out...

Be it the war sequences, political strategies or just the description of the surrounding, everything is so amazingly described that you keep reading the story without even a slightest sense of boredom..

Another thing that i liked in this Story is how the rights for the LGBT community has been advocated and also they are shown in a completly different light... to know more you have to read this book...

The "Eye Of Brahma" is a very integral part of the story and enhances the joy of reading manyfolds...

There is politics, love, betrayal, war everything in this to keep you glued to this story...

Shuko and devdutt the two animal friends of kalki give the much needed humour in the book..

All in all this was an amazing reading experience and i will highly recommend this book to all the lovers of fantasy genre...

A note to author: Can you please stop killing people in love???? This is one point which i hate you for...

Enjoyed it. Excited for the third part....

The book is the second part in the trilogy and comes with a brief introduction to the first book, so the readers who haven't read the first part might as well pick this one up directly, but reading both the books is definitely recommended for the best experience through the story.

There are many characters portrayed with balanced importance and each one has their own interesting story, interconnected with the main plot. The most amazing part is how the author has addressed the most sensitive issue of LGBT community.

Few of the quotes are really alluring. My favorite one is : " You can have all the strength in the world son, but if you don't know how to use it what is the point of it" So true. Isn't it?

Book Title: Satyayoddha Kalki: Eye of Brahma (Book 2)
Author: Kevin Missal
Format: Paperback

Book Title:
The title of the book is ‘Satyayoddha Kalki: Eye of Brahma (Book 2)’ is interesting and a perfect sequel to the first book.

Book Cover:
The cover of the book is a painting of a well-built warrior who is ready to slash the opponent with his huge sword singlehandedly. The other hand bore the double edge knife. The war scene in the backdrop is with huge mountains and charging soldiers.

Plot:
This intriguing book is the sequel of 'Dharmayoddha Kalki: Avatar of Vishnu' (Book 1) by Kevin Missal. Kalki sets his journey to the peaceful  Mahendragiri mountains with his companions after getting defeated in the brutal war between him and Lord Kali. His path towards his destination was not so easy. He encounters Vanara and Pisach armies which will forcefully make him involve.

Lord Kali who starts enjoy the victory, slowly loses his peace with the appearance of Manasa, the sister of late Vasuki. While facing the difficulties in her life, losing her beloved ones, she plots the death of Lord Kali and swears to destroy his kingdom.

Will Kalki leave to Mahendragiri mountain to attain his goal in life? What happens to Kali and his kingdom? Will Manasa encounters Kalki and will she get help from him to destroy Lord Kali? What will happen to the Kalki avatar?

What I like:
1. The narration of the story and the twist in the last chapter is awestruck
2. A unique and astonishing plot and mind gripping narration.

What I didn’t like:
There are no faults in particular in the story. The characterization and the sequences of all the scenes are done in a perfect way.

Characters:
The protagonist character and other main characters are portrayed very well. Other characters have given the utmost importance along with the main character.

Narration:
The narration and the scene symphony is excellently done. The reader will have the best experience while reading the same.

Language & Grammar:
A clear language with neat and uncomplicated grammar is used in the book

My Final Verdict:
A good and unique read, which will leave you thrilled and all excited.

The journey continues. Kalki Marches towards Mahendragiri to get trained and fulfill the prophecy of the Avatar. He faces emotional and physical challenges throughout this journey. Just like coal is subjected to pressure or iron is subjected to heat. New characters are introduced in between but the story mostly revolves around central characters only.

Kali is in confused state. I am not sure the author wants us to perceive him like that or author himself is confused what to do with this character. This is because, Kali is portrayed as a good person over few incidents while he is supposed to be Adharma or evil. On the other hand, his brutality and cruelty is shown in some other events. His character is not quite clear till the end of the book.

Arjan seems to have transformed. This person who has all good in his heart, walks towards the dark side in the last few chapters of the book. The reason being, He finds love which is taken away from him. Will he completely switch to dark side? We'll have to see that in next book.

This is hell of a twisted story. Every other chapter has an unexpected event. Sometimes I felt that the twist was not necessary. It questions the creativity of author as if he is unable to continue with the story without giving it twists. The most annoying part is that of characters being killed. A few of them die at a point when you start to like them. Not just they are killed but they are killed in brutal fashion with gory description of their death. There was no need to do this. Since the third book is already out, I can't give any suggestions for improvement to the author.

Once you read the first part there is no escaping. You'll have to read this. And the next one. Your anticipation and expectations are left unfulfilled at the end of this book. Not worth the sequel.

"One is not born an avtaar, his choices and his deeds make him an avtaar".

Kalki book 2 eye of Brahma is the explosive and gripping sequel to the first book in the Kalki trilogy. And it surely surpassed all expectations after the first book. In this book, Kalki continues his journey to become an avtaar, and fight the battle of Dharm vs Adharm.

This book continues the story of Kalki and the other charecters, after the foundation laid in the first book. The book features various character arcs and stories that help to further develop the characters as the story progresses. The narrative shifts repeatedly throughout the story, with multiple plotlines which makes the story interesting, and keeps you hooked. The charecter development in this book is exceptional, and also the addtiton of new characters, improved the plot of the book. The book itself had a lot of twists and turns, betrayals, deaths(just like the first book) and also a lot of philosophical teachings. The book also features strong female characters, and also a word of appreciation for the way the author portrayed same sex relationships in this book, something that is rarely seen in indian books. Overall, Kalki 2 is an action packed Mythological fantasy, and you should definitely pick it up if you liked the first one.

📙"Kalki was mulling it over when Bajrang put his heavy arm around Kalki's shoulder. "What are you thinking?"he asked Kalki. ⁣
"That I can never be like you."⁣
"You don't have to be. My war is over. Yours has started.""⁣

📙 The story travels in three (and sometimes even four) ways. ⁣
1- Kalki is in search of Lord Bhargav as he'll teach him.⁣
2- Arjan is in prison and learning wrestling.⁣
3- Manasa travels to the Naga's land and finds everything unusual there. ⁣

📙I loved the way the author has presented Kali. He's evil most of the times but has justification to his every misdeed. ⁣

📙 I totally loathed the character of Urvashi. She's unrealistic, annoying and the most shitty character I've ever came across. She's of 13 and going philosophical, using magic tricks and even stabbing the soldiers with their (mind it) swords. It isn't digestible at all. ⁣

📙The language used is lucid and plays its part well. ⁣

📙I totally loved the twists in the plot. The plot is really amazing. There's so much content in it. Every chapter ends with a suspense and it hooks and intrigues the reader to find more.⁣

📙I loved this book and would recommend it. ⁣

This book I would say the best book in mythological genre I have ever read. Author has portrayed every character in a precise manner with the magical touch of fiction.
Coming to the plot, at the beginning he has given the introduction of the previous characters of book Kalki part-1. It helped a lot to start this second part of the book. Then story starts with the journey of Kalki towards Mahendragiri hill. In this whole journey there are adventure, war, emotions,  tragedy and many more a reader can experience. Kali is an evil character in the story who has imprisoned Arjan, Kalki's brother. This character has portrayed very nicely.

An intriguing story which make you hooked till the end. Flawless narration and very strong plot. It speaks about the creativity and knowledge of the Author over mythology. Highly recommended book. It was a very good read and enjoyed a lot.

The novel, "Satyayoddha Kalki: Eye of Brahma", by Kevin Missal, the second book Kalki Trilogy, is really appreciable. The interest of a reader never falters and the various characters do not disappoint. The plot which is portrayed in the story, will surely make you glued to the book and you'll keep turning pages until they are over. It absolutely touches our souls and makes us think what is right and what is wrong. Even if you aren't an admirer of this genre, you'll definitely fall in love with it...

Satyayoddha Kalki: Eye of Brahma (4.5/5)
.
Firstly, it's really hard to gather word's and write review about the book you love. This happened with this book. When I finished first book. I was pretty sure than I'm going to read the 2nd book.

.
You can have all the strength in the world son but if you don't know how to use it what is the point of it.
.
Fighter change the outcome of the battle but, a reader can change someone's world by his knowledge
.
#plot
The story is more interesting than book 1. I don't have words to say what I feel. The story start when kalki escaped his execution to kali and started journey towards mahendragiri. The little bit of reference of book 1 is given at the starting pages. The plot is damn good. This is a story with whole lot of political games and fight for right. You will definitely get goosebumps when you are approching to ending.
.
#character
There are so many characters in this book. Each and every character is well developed and described. The characters and plot is so strong than you cannot judge any of them. Every character has its own story. Koko, vikoko, kalki, kripa, vedanta are my favorite character.
.
#special
The war between darma and adarma ? Who is the hero and who is the villain of the book? The most beautiful thing is rights for the LGBT community. Kudos to author for addressing such is important topic.
.
The "eye of brahma" is one of the best thing of this book. The explanation, importants, divided in four part. This is the part of book which keeps you hooked up till the end.
.
So this are things I can say about the book. The language is easy going. Till 35th chapter It took me 3 days to read but, after that I have finished it in one sitting. This book has love, betrayal, war, friendship, important of knowledge, politics, humor. There are many lessons you can learn from this story.
.
Overall if you are going to read this keep an eye on ending. There are so many questions unanswered. I'm in the phase if you give me 3rd book right now. I'll definitely finish it in one day. A virtual hug to author. And can't wait for next book.

I am sure like me a lot of people who are reading this blurb for the first time are onfused about what is happening. But take my advice, don't be. The author takes it upon himself to give a recap of all the incidents of book 1 right before he starts this book. Divided into two parts, you get an overdose of mythology here.

If you have taken my earlier advice, take another. This book isn't for the weakhearted. Or for the ones who are not that much into mythology. For hardcore mythology lovers like me, though, this is an once in a lifetime opportunity to read and go into the depths of it. The narration is fabulous and it grips you to the edge of the seat. But you don't need to be careful here as it doesn't let you fall off.

A bit lengthier for sure, you'll die to read the first book and the third installment of the series right after you have finished this one. Characters who we have grown up reading and listening about form the crux of the book while this fiction tale is enchanting to say the very least. It was a 1 day one sitting read for me and I couldn't just have more as I kept on reading. The way the characters have been formed and how the author takes you through the book, you'll surely be confused on who to root about.

As far the cons are concerned, there aren't much. You must read book 1 before starting this one and you'll die to read book 3 once you've completed this. A cliffhanger at the end of the book leaves you speechless. The author has a natural flair of writing which I'd love to keep on reading. A 4.5 out of 5, I'm looking forward to reading more from the author.
