I always ask myself, "what am I afraid of here?"
Because writer's block is just another name for fear. Also, I recently read something that is seriously true.
"You can't think your way out of a writing block. You can only write your way out of a thinking block."
That helps but sometimes the only thing for it is to go take a hike in the hills near my house. Or talk to a friend who makes me laugh. Something about that kind of conversation always lights up my imagination.(less)

When I write, I am forced to revisit old feelings, new feelings... remember experiences. Feel them again.
Writing makes me feel life--my life, all life.(less)

3 Critical Lessons About Modern Life from The Walking Dead

.

.

I am an unlikely fan of The Walking Dead. I don’t like zombie stuff and I don’t like horror. But this one is different.

The Walking Dead has escaped both genres and has climbed to the stature of a modern myth. It has important lessons to teach us all—relevant things, practical things, and uncomfortable (but potentially inspiring) things. I have been transfixed by this tale since Season 1/Epis

“Blessed are the weird people:
poets, misfits, writers
mystics, painters, troubadours
for they teach us to see the world through different eyes.”
Jacob Nordby, Pearls of Wisdom: 30 Inspirational Ideas to live your best life now

“You know that crazy heart of yours? The one with lightning crackling and moonlight shining through it. The one you’ve been told not to trust because it often led you off the beaten path. The one so many have misunderstood your entire life. Trust it. Feed it. Grow it. It’s your greatest treasure and will point the way to your highest destiny. It is the voice of your soul.”
Jacob Nordby

“Every pain, addiction, anguish, longing, depression, anger or fear
is an orphaned part of us
seeking joy,
some disowned shadow
wanting to return
to the light
and home
of ourselves.”
Jacob Nordby

“Love is the extremely difficult realization that something other than oneself is real.”
Iris Murdoch, Existentialists and Mystics: Writings on Philosophy and Literature

“To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour.”
Sir Winston Churchill

“I become a transparent eyeball; I am nothing; I see all; the currents of the Universal Being circulate through me; I am part of God.”
Emerson Ralph Waldo

“She was ready to deny the existence of space and time rather than admit that love might not be eternal.”
Simone de Beauvoir, The Mandarins

“When you no longer need approval from others like the air you breathe, the possibilities in life are endless.
What an interesting little prison we build from the
invisible bricks of other people's opinions.”

Jacob Nordby hi! sorry I didn't see your comment here until now. Look forward to hearing more about your first book. I like the title.

Here's my first one

The Divine Arsonist A Tale of Awakening by Jacob Nordby

message 1: by Dixon

Dixon I enjoy Lawrence Block also, but somehow failed to add any of his books to my reading list. I'd better fix that mistake.

I'm also a novelist (thrillers) and honestly don't know how I'd rate The Assassins Club, my first e-book. Guess I need to get some emotional distance - maybe after I finish the 2nd and 3rd books...
