Written by Rachel Lang, the plot unfolds as follows: They come from all over the globe. Now they have one thing in common: they belong to the French Foreign Legion, their new family. Our Men tells their stories: that of these couples who are surviving in hostile territory, that of those men who fight for France, that of those women who struggle to keep their love alive.

In her statement of intent, the filmmaker alludes to the film’s main theme, the question of the couple: “How can one be in the right place, in an equitable and equally intense relationship, with another person? The Foreign Legion puts the couple under great stress-that is why I chose it as my setting. The Legion is the elite of the army and has the reputation of being a real "family". When the legionnaire enlists, he commits to having no life of his own for the next 5 years: he takes a new name, is forbidden to leave the territory, cannot get a loan for an apartment or a car, and is forbidden to marry or to recognize any children. What becomes of a couple in this context?”

Our Men is a co-production between the French company Chevaldeuxtrois (Jérémy Forni) and the Belgium company Wrong Men (Benoît Roland). Among the partners involved in the writing and development stages are the CNC, the FWB (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles), and the local authority of Corisca, the region of Grand Est, the Maison de l'image Basse-Normandie and Procirep-Angoa. Filming is due to commence in Autumn 2018.

It’s worth noting that Chevaldeuxtrois also co-produced Cargo [+see also:
