A tour of Europe in one night
- Today, Europe's Day, EuroCiné 25 is programming 25 films from the Old Continent which attests to its frantic dynamism
Last year, so as to celebrate the enlargement of Europe, EuroCiné 25 organised 25 screenings of 25 European films in the two most renowned cinema complexes of Brussels. The initiative was a real success and attracted long lines of people, a total of 4300 cinema lovers turned up that night.
Today, Europe's Day, EuroCiné 25 is renewing the experience and is programming again 25 films from the Old Continent which attests to its frantic dynamism.
"Europe has been supporting cinema for years. Now it's up to cinema to help Europe. Cinema is the ideal way to discover new countries and learn about their cultures and traditions." explains Philippe Reynaert, chairman of Wallimage who created this revolutionary initiative. "Therein lies the deeper mission of EuroCiné 25: proving to markets that the audience is, in fact, interested
in European films. That way, cinema will start up a dialogue between the various European peoples."
