Microsoft kindly gave us a tour of their vision of the home of the future. Notably the home features processors in everything, networked everything and personalized everything. Think it and it will be.
Microsoft is clearly better at technology than it is at interior design and there is a faint sense of disappointment as a result but the net effect is a wholly plausible and reassuring, Jetsons free, notion of technology enabling and improving everyday tasks and facilitating, for the most part, a better life.
Apparently advertisers who take the tour have been known to drool ovr the opportunities of putting recipes on the kitchen counter and apparel recommendations in the closet. It will come true – advertisers abhor blank space like nature abhors a vacuum.
