Tombeau de Claude Debussy ⟨User:Emiles Mern [#31100]

Happy New Year, Emiles. This is a rather curious (and very interesting) item. The Kirchmeyer catalog has a fairly long and detailed discussion about the composition and revision history of Symphonies d'instruments à vent, from which the 50-bar excerpt is taken. The title in the December 1920 publication is even Fragment des Symphonies d'instruments à vent which is less than a month after the completion of the first version of the work. I'll probably be moving it to that page, though Stravinsky apparently continued to revise these measures for many years after the 1920 publication. I believe Tombeau de Claude Debussy was the title given to the music supplement of La Revue musicale.

Thanks for a great contribution! (P.S. Alaric is a name I use here when I'm doing some "fun" work and don't want to answer questions - Carolus)
