New page reviewer

I've been doing some recent changes patrolling recently, in between when I'm working on WP:DBR/BSA. I noticed that there is a 16,000 page list of unreviewed pages (if I'm reading the page correctly), and would love to help out where I can. For example, right off the bat the first page I see is a legitimate redirect that shouldn't need anything more (List of senators from the Jervis Bay Territory is the page I saw just for an example). I am also familiar with deletion and reviewing policies. Signed, IAmChaos 07:25, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@IAmChaos Sorry to interrupt here. But where can the backlog of unreviewed pages be found? ItcouldbepossibleTalk 05:10, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Itcouldbepossible: Its on a special page at this link. For information, see WP:NPP. Happy editing--IAmChaos 05:13, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@IAmChaos Oh well, thanks for your kind information. Happy editing to you too. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 05:14, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have experience with the deletion and notability guidelines. Over the last few months, I've used Huggle and Twinkle to review recent changes, so I have experience with vandalism. I'd like to help clear the backlog of unreviewed pages. Cheers! Wgullyn (talk) 22:40, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am requesting New Page Reviewer rights on Wikipedia. I believe that I'm competent enough and have the necessary understanding, which I think is required to help use the tools to contribute positively. I'd, like to help out with clearing the backlog. Thanks, for your consideration. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 07:18, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - I am concerned with your own articles and your lack of substantive edit summaries. Many of the articles you will be reviewing will be made by new users, so it is vital that you appropriately communicate any issues the article may have. Further, some of your own articles have sourcing and prose issues which makes it difficult for me to have confidence that your reviews will be without fault. Consider returning in a few months after you have gained more experience. Anarchyte (talk) 10:07, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Anarchyte:, Sure I understood what you said. I'm not used to writing edit summaries, sometimes I even ignore it. But I will work on it and follow your valuable input. Thanks --C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 11:00, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have begun looking at the new pages recently and patrolling them and I feel that having this new pages reviewer right will help a lot, as there is a backlog of pages to be reviewed. Thanks! 747pilot (talk) 19:06, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question: Have you actually read WP:NPP thoroughly yet including the videos, and are you aware what a huge commitment it is if you wish your help in this area will make a significant impact? Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:15, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I've read through it and watched the videos too. 747pilot (talk) 00:44, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was a former New Page Patroller from 2008 to around 2011, way before the new page reviewer user group was created in 2016. After a hiatus from Wikipedia editing, I'd like to return to my old duties in curating newly created articles and keeping watch over Philippines-related articles. - PritongKandule Talk. 10:01, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Please see the notice at the top of this page. With only 312 mainspace edits, you don't meet the minimum requirements for granting. Please come back when you have the experience required for administrators to review your edits. — JJMC89(T·C) 04:53, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! I really want to expand my Wikipedia skills and therefore want to apply for New page reviewer. I have studied in detail Wikipedia's guidelines and I have specialized in anti vandalism. Please do take my request into consideration Trains2050 (talk) 12:32, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I had the Reviewer right before going on an extended WikiBreak, from which I've recently returned. Having seen the size of the backlog I'd like to help out a bit if I can - will be sure to read up on any changes to guidelines relevent to the page being reviewed in the last 18 months before I get stuck in. Thanks! OcarinaOfTime (talk) 20:49, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there again! On November 21, 2021, I requested for this permission, it was granted for a month's trial. When re-requesting the user right a month later, I was again granted it for a month's trial. @Rosguill pointed out an error I made and requested a bit more experience with the deletion process. Since then, I have been working in those fields. I have take few article to AfD, but more significantly, have tried to maintain a list of my CSD nomination—User:Kavyansh.Singh/CSD log. Those include various new pages and drafts that I nominated for speedy deletion. I re-request the user right. If there is any issues, please let me know, and I'll try to improve. Thanks! – Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 09:18, 2 February 2022 (UTC) Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 09:18, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm applying to help with the massive backlog of new pages, and I think I'm somewhat qualified. I'm willing to do a temporary grant of permissions to see how it pans out. Thanks. Signed,The4lines |||| (Talk) (Contributions) 02:40, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done for a 3 week trial. Please try to do at least 20-30 articles in that time. You had privately approached me for an evaluation and I indicated I would give you some specific feedback on wiki. 3 of your last 4 A7s weren't great. ShaoYing_LOW was tagged A7. it did have CCS in my view. Agree with Liz's decision to draftify. I wouldn't have deleted The Very Best of Talk Talk as something released by EMI in 1990 is a CCS. Like for sure. Though I do understand how other admins wouldn’t have that nuance. When I did a quick google search (always worth doing imo before tagging A7) I found that we already had an article (from like 2004) on the album under a different name so redirection was all that was needed. MCAT High School is a clear decline because schools are ineligible for a7 though admittedly that’s from July. Your g11s and g12s all seem reasonable from my spot checks as do your random other tags.
I get pretty concerned when I see someone has only declined AFC drafts. But from looking at your work at AfC going back to Jan 4 you’re generally in-line with AfC norms. However, NPP treats some articles differently. Draft:Ramany vs Ramany and Draft:ARCA Midwest Tour 2022 Season are examples of articles that can be declined at AfC but would likely get a tag and marked as notable at NPP. Draft:Sunita Pai would require some more research but might be the same. Draft:Ashneer Grover is a BLP so even though it’s probably notable the fact that it’s completely uncited would be an issue at NPP as well (potential BLPPROD candidate). Thanks for your interest in New Page Patrol. Please make sure to read (really read) WP:NPR and don’t hesitate to ask questions of other patrollers.
